First off this store is so cute! I was a little annoyed because the day I went it opened about 15 minutes late. The girl was rude at first(told me rudely to wait in the rain for 5 minutes so she could open up the shop) but once she was settled she was fine. Apparently she had gotten stuck in traffic. No biggie. I bought 2 dresses and one cardigan. I was very excited about the dress which was the brand«indie Ella» one of a kind, from a local artist. I thought the price points were super. Anyway upon wearing the dress for the first time today unfortunately it was obviously pretty DIY. The V neck in front pointed more to my left nipple than the middle of my chest. Embarrassing! I’m sorry but I expect a dress to be made evenly if I buy it. Probably won’t shop here again. They do not have quality items, sadly.

I literally want everything in this store. Employees are awesome and super helpful without being pushy! Hallie is especially nice and took the time to look for just what I was looking for. Will definitely visit again next time Im in Portland.

This is a great store. They prices aren’t bad at all. The employees are very friendly & helpful. Very large selection of jewelry too which is why I went there in the first place. I highly recommend checking this place out & I will be going back in the near future as well!

I am a local freelance photographer and I came into the shop looking for some items for a couple upcoming photo shoots. With only a vague Idea with what I wanted, the gal who helped me in the store, Hallie I believe, was very helpful and provided some great insight into the items that interested me. I feel that if you are someone who is looking for great imported, fair trade clothing and accessory, this is a must stop shop while in the already fun Mississippi area. I’ll most definitely be returning to purchase some gifts for people I know.

WOW! This place is Awesome! Why haven’t I came here sooner. I really like the selection this store has. I never seen so many pieces of jewelry before. I had some great help from Hallie. She went out of her way to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. Please keep hiring people like her. Thanks!

I visited this shop to pick up a gift for my girlfriend’s birthday. The ladies were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the process and materials that go into creating each item. They helped me pick out the perfect piece of turquoise and she loved it! I would recommend this shop to anyone who appreciates hand made, local and eco conscious items. I am so glad I found this place and I love supporting local businesses in Portland. Keep up the good work!

one day I hope to have a giant closet that looks just like this store– beautiful & colorful clothes, fabulous jewelry, amazing art, and perfect lighting(key). the owner and staff are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable about their products, and they always look the part. they pay their artisans fairly, and because of that, yes, the merch is a little pricey compared to the Forever 21s and the H&Ms of the world. but I would much rather spend extra to support a fair-trade small business than a box store that makes millions by taking advantage of others. killer location too, right down the way from delicious doughnuts :).

This is a super hippie vibe store. I enjoyed shopping and being helped by Aja. I purchased clothing for my daughter-in-laws there before Christmas. I was told that if they needed to be returned it must be accomplished by Jan 6th. I lost the receipt, but kept the tags(removed them). One of the gifts needed to be returned. I called to let them know my husband was on the way to do this. I explained that I didn’t have the receipt, but have the tags, date of the purchase and the credit card used. She asked if the tags were still attached. I said no. She said she can’t take the items back. *****So BEWARE-if you need to return anything– MAKESUREYOUKEEPTHETAGONTHEITEM.

This was a neat store with some nice things. My parents came to visit me from the other side of the country in October, my dad had never been here before, because plane tickets aren’t cheap and they do not have much money. Anyways, we were out, looking at the different stores and stumbled into Wanderlust + Wildhearts. The woman working there was very friendly and helpful when my mother wanted to look at the rings. My mom found a nice ring with stones that matched her bracelet in the Native American jewelry section, not noticing the small sign saying«All Sales Final»(but, we will take responsibility for that). Two weeks later, the stone fell out. My mom called the store, explaining what had happened, and the person she spoke with(not the nice person who originally helped us), didn’t seem too interested in helping her. My mom was not looking to return the ring, but she did expect that she was buying something that was worth the money. She didn’t want money back, she just wanted the ring that she paid for to be fixed. The woman said there was nothing they could do, do to their policy. As I understand what«All Sales Final» means, I do think its appropriate to sell quality items. My thinking is that you would want to make and keep your customer happy, so they would refer friends and family to your store. I feel bad for my mother, because as stated before, my parents don’t have a lot of money and she just wanted to treat herself a little. My advice is to stay away from the jewelry in this store, as the quality of it doesn’t seem to be all that good. On a positive note though, the woman who I talked with at the store(the same woman who sold us the ring) was very friendly and had great customer service. She seemed to care about our situation, and gave me the contact info for the jewelry person. Unfortunately, that was the same person my mom spoke with over the phone, who did not seem to be interested in rectifying the situation. The customer service we received, in person, is the reason why I am giving two stars, and not one.

Super cute shop, but was very unhappy about spending $ 200 on a handbag to have the strap break 3 months later, especially because I am so gentle and take care of my handbags. Took them a week to return my email about this and then told me It must have been my fault for putting heavy things in the bag. I think Ill stick with retail stores that can stand behind their product better than this. Very disappointing. I also found the same feathers down the street at a local shop for a fraction of the price.

What an amazing shop! I be honest, I am not all that impressed with Missisippi street as a whole. Mostly for drunks who are bad with money. I found myself stuck in the area really needing to waste time and I found this shop. What amazing one of a kind pieces! From the clothing styles(Indie Ella) they had to the jewelry(Desert Wandery) it was all very bohemian chic. I would recommend here for anyone shopping styles on Albert, there is no where better!

Wanderlust + Wildhearts is a new store within a recently redeveloped building within the Historical Mississippi Avenue District. It’s a little bit more of a women’s store, and I came in looking for a Gayle-related gift. Past that, there’s a cool selection of clothing and other textiles, fair trade stuff, and a definite Southwest/South America feel. I found the owner to be friendly, helpful, and engaging.

The store carries their own clothing, jewelry, rare literature, old pawn pieces crafted by artisans of the south west, Textile bags, Eco-Leggings, and fair trade Organic Apparel.
