These guys are great! Although this is a «do it yourself«type store, the staff is super helpful! Craig understood our needs and was really knowledgable with everything. We were able to move our gas furnace and all duct work from the basement to the attic. Thanks again for your help!

I use these guys for all heating/cooling/ducting needs. They are great! they can help with the entire project from design to fab. Their prices are very reasonable, and they will work with you! They won’t try and sell you things you don’t need. They have my highest recommendation.

These guys are awesome and knowledgeable. My boyfriend needed to fix the furnace in our house and they were spot on in assisting him. Now we have heat. Yay! Also, Duke is awesome.

Let’s just say I know an unnatural amount about energy efficiency. Did you know America’s energy efficiency seriously lags the developed world? So room for improvement. Our state of Oregon has excellent programs to train and certify heating and cooling system installers. You can find out many things on that at the Energy Trust of Oregon website. But sometimes you just need to dig into a project yourself, do it inexpensively and just do a small change or forget the subsidies. To do that Vinje has items that the big box home improvement stores do not. So if you need to dig into heat– cool– duct– ing, Vinje should be on your short list.

we found them on line and had great hope when they told us they had lots of parts and to bring our parts in and they would set us up with up to date replacement parts, we went in and the guy did not seem to know anything about furnace parts and just kept bringing random parts out of the back that may or may not work, but he would sell to us and all sales are final, and that for what we were saving by not calling in a pro we could afford to buy a lot of wrong parts well we wanted to buy the right parts or be able to return the parts if they were not right as these parts were about 200 dollars each it was brought to our attention that they have superior customer support and knowlegable technicians, and if we bought something from them there support was invaluable this guy seemed to no nothing about furnaces and only thing he was able to do was call the manufacterer who told him(surprise surprise) that parts were unavailable and our furnace was not repairable if you need a part and this place has it(depending on price) I would buy it there but they either have no repair knowledge or just can’t be bothered it is worth noting that this place shares an address with Vinje and sons and seems to be the same business with 2 names and phone numbers and another reviewer had a similar experiance as me with furnace repair

I am a plumber and prefer DIY for most jobs at my own home. I needed a new furnace and set out to acquire the parts and appliances that I needed. If you’ve ever tried to purchase HVAC materials at wholesale you will know that it is very difficult. It is interesting that unless you are an HVAC contractor most places will not sell to you. Vinje and Son seems to know this and try to capitalize on it. Their prices far exceed full retail. I was able to find the same things online with shipping to me for a fraction of the price. I still went to Vinje for some of the smaller more specific parts and found most of what I needed. Other reviews say that they are knowledgeable and helpful but you must add«only if you purchase from them.» I saved about $ 600.00 by purchasing my furnace on line and spent other money at Vinje and Son. When I tried to ask for clarification to a particular point in the installation manual for the furnace they said«I wouldn’t know, Not my furnace.» I pointed out that the furnace I was installing was identical to one in their showroom and he said again«Not my furnace.» This time I understood what he was saying«You didn’t buy this from me so I’m not going to help answer your question.» I understand the frustration that I would purposefully try to go around his astronomical markup on the furnace and then ask him for advice. How would he make any money if everyone did that? I have an idea. Try charging a reasonable markup and offering plenty of free advice. If Vinje had been more helpful and more reasonably priced I would have no problem making this my go to shop for all of OF My HVAC needs. I would also tell customers of my own about them. Now all I’m saying is «GOSOMEWHEREELSE!» To Vinje and his son I would recommend a book by Seth Godin called«The Linchpin» if you read this book your attitude will change and your business will prosper.

After having a contractor look at my duct work in order to provide a quote for duct sealing and duct insulation. He couldn’t do the test that would validate the measure for the EnergyTrust and Department of Energy credits and he explained why he didn’t believe in the process. Realizing that I could do it all myself for a tenth of the cost even with the credits I decided to go out to the only place I knew about to get the materials and that place was Vinje & Son. I will be heading back when I get to the projects where I need some custom ductwork or at least the parts for me to assemble. That’s one of the benefits of going to Vinje & Son, you get the advice on doing a project yourself or they can help you out a little more.

If you’re looking for esoteric parts for forced air heating systems this is your place. Family owned, very helpful, enormous range of parts. If they don’t have it then they will make it for you.
