This place it truly amazing. Impeccable service and delicious food makes up for a great dining experience. We went for the $ 32 prix fixe menu(serves 3 course meal) which is a summer special at the restaurant, and every single dish was perfect. I started with the poached shrimp over avocado and my husband went for the 60 minute egg, and then we got the beef bourguignon and the pasta of the day(gnocchi) and finished our dinner with the chocolate cake and banana split. We will definitely we back soon. Keep up the great work Verdigris.

Again, another sublime dinner. Great service and food so good you have to hold yourself back from licking the sauce from the plate. Verdigris is offering a «Summer Supper», 3 courses for $ 32/person. The diner chooses one appetizer, one entrée, and a dessert from their menu. The menu choices offer something to please everyone’s palate. My first choice was poached shrimp over an avocado mousse, my dining companion the chilled tomato soup poured over feta cheese crumbles tableside. Both exquisite. For my entrée I chose the pasta du jour, a gnocchi with morels, mint and a yummy sauce. My friend had the Idaho seared trout(mmm, crispy skin), I can’t recall all the items that kept the trout company in the bowl(chorizo!), but it was delicious. Dark, dense, chocolate ice cream w/caramel sauce and hazelnuts, yes please! Banana split for my table partner. Sunday evenings are a great time to have dinner at Verdigris. Make a reservation…

This gem of a restaurant was new to us but it was worth every moment we spent here. We devoured the beet salad, the bisque, the rabbit and salmon. This is a must! Soon, it will be difficult to get reservations.

We had the opportunity to visit this location on Easter during Portland Dining Month. Originally, we wanted to go earlier, but we weren’t aware we needed to make a reservation. Once we arrived it was easy to see why. There is literally seating for 40 people only! Our waiter was exceptional and engaging. It was amazing how well he kept everyone taken care of as he was the only waiter. There were two people running the floor and three in the kitchen. I had the pleasure of being seated along the wall on the opposite side of the kitchen so I got to watch them work in tandem to create the meals. It almost looked like a dance. Our meals: First Course: Him: Shrimp consommé with Yukon potatoes, radishes, cucumbers, dill and lemon Me: Soup du Jour Second Course: Him: Idaho trout with fingerling potatoes, smoked trout, roasted shallots and horseradish yogurt Me: Two-way chicken with roasted cauliflower, roasted sweet peppers, almonds and Madeira Third Course: Him: Pineapple tarte tatin with vanilla ice cream and caramel Me: Chocolate pot au crème with Chantilly and sugar cookies We left with uncomfortably full bellies and enormous smiles on our faces.

My husband and I ate here during Dine Out month in Portland. The food was very good, the service wonderful. They didn’t cheap on our meal because it was Dine Out month(I got the beef bourguignon, my husband got the steak and frites). The space is lovely — intimately small, perfect for a couple’s night out. I got the impression that they haven’t been around that long — nobody we talked to had heard of them. Too bad! It’s a wonderful place with delicious food.

They ran a March dining month special for three courses at $ 29 which was an incredible value. The server was top notch professional. He knew I was gluten free from my note on my Unilocal reservation and catered to that fact with explanation on all that I requested. The food was excellent — on time, flavorful, and good value. The server was very much not intrusive, and the food arrived in a timely manner and was the right temperature. He even tuned in to my wine preferences and brought me a taste of a new wine, unsolicited. A great spot for intimate dining. It was a bit loud, and I would only suggest that they investigate ways to add soft surfaces to the space to deaden the sound. Wall hung tapestries? Rugs? Respond directly to me, management, and I can help you out with that ;)

I’d give 10 stars if I were able to. Off the charts, spectacular dining experience. My husband and I both said that if it were acceptable to lick our plates, we would have. From the amuse bouche to the dessert course, the care that went into each plate was evident. The service was impeccable. The wine, fairly priced, and a perfect pairing to our meal. I took a picture of the butter poached shrimp and was so impressed that by the time my second course arrived, my phone was back in my purse with no other thought to take another photo. Well done, Verdigris! Can’t wait for our next tasting adventure with you!

Ahh, the wonderousness that is Portland Dining Month. There are all these restaurants that I have been dying to try but for the price I’m never sure if it’s going to be worth it. Portland Dining Month makes it worth the money to try the place, even on a limited menu. But Verdigris? No limited menu here. You get the full menu to choose from. Not only that, but they don’t treat you like second class citizens like some other upscale dining places. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy with our food and drinks. And boy were we. Started with drinks. I was asking about the wines, since I’m really pathetic and only like the sweet stuff, but none of the glasses fit the bill. The waiter proceeded to open a bottle and pour me a glass of the most delicious sparkling wine ever. You know a restaurant is amazing when they are willing to pour a glass from a bottle not on the list. The food was about 99% outstanding. The only one I was a little disappointed in was the night’s special pasta, the gnocchi. It was delicious, but slightly bland for everything else I had eaten. The salad was amazing, with the bacon and red wine vinaigrette being cooked together and an egg that just oozed everywhere. The chocolate pot de crème was sinful and just perfect. Everyone else just adored every part of their meal, so it really might have just been me and the gnocchi dish not getting along that great as my friend ate most of what I didn’t eat and loved it. I would recommend this place 100% for a special night out or just if you want some amazing food and service.

I normally don’t do restaurant review much unless I have very bad experience I want to warn other customers or they’re good and I’m afraid they’ll be out of business.(Unfortunately many did) This time is different. I went with friends for the dining month. We wanted to have French and we picked this one partially because we could get table slightly earlier(and of course their menu looks good). We showed up and found that there was some miscommunication and they thought we’re a party of 2 instead of 5. So we ended up had to wait roughly 40mins before we could get the table. Once we got in everything was good. We were offered wine, which we didn’t take, and got some special appetizer on the house. We loved all the food we got. The only complain I had was that my steak was more on the rare side than medium, which is what I ordered. But it still tasted good. We’re informed at the beginning that the dessert we wanted had already ran out and my friend jokingly said that we mostly came for that. They came back later and told us that they’d make something similar for us. Nice :) And we thought that would be all the things they’d try to make up for our wait. However, when we finished our desserts, they told us that everything is on the house because they made us waited for so long! We didn’t have much cash so we ended up paying just enough for a good tip. And that is kind of the reason why they get this review. I think they deserve the 5-star, for the great food and best service mind. :) Btw, the photo in this review was from my earlier visit for brunch. It just combined here automatically somehow. So don’t get confused.

Went during Restaurant Month of March. Had the piquillo pepper flan and roasted tomato soup as starters followed by the teres major steak and chicken two-way and the chocolate pot de crème to end. The flan itself was great the accompanying veggies were okay not thrilling. Soup was excellent. Both entrees were excellent. Pots de crème were a tad sweeter than our tastes run but we finished them off quickly. We prefer a darker, somewhat less sweet base but these were fine. It took us 1.5 hours to drive here from Hillsboro in the rain and during rush hour. We’ll return but will book much later next time. Music was pop hits from the 60s, mainly Beach Boys and Beatles. OK by us. Better than Bieber.

This was one of three different restaurants that we were thinking of going to on a trip to Portland and the experience was delightful. The duck confi potatoes are amazing and they need to come in a four pack and a six pack with a warning label that they are addictive. Next time we come back we will be getting several and we will get a reservation on the pancakes need a little bit more cooking to them as they were slightly under done other than that we had a great experience. It can be a little hard to find a location but perhaps that’s a good thing because it keeps the crowds small. Service was intimate with small tables which prompts conversation over the food for simple morning brunch and breakfast.

If you just want dinner, don’t bother. If you want an EXPERIENCE, call and make a reservation and prepare to be thrilled. My husband and I have eaten here twice now. Even though I’m a fake vegetarian(poultry and fish only) who doesn’t like mushrooms or runny eggs(it’s OK, more for you)… I have had no difficulty finding something delicious on the menu, or ordering a dish sans champignon. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into the components of each dish, and it is wonderful. Both times we sprung for a wine pairing, which was exquisitely done by a very knowledgeable server. Sometimes a course would come out with more than one wine because he couldn’t pick just one! We’ll be back.

The restaurant itself is really small. Maybe at most 10 tables. Definitely make a reservation as we got there when it opened and within the hour the place was packed. This was on a Monday. We had the lamb meatballs and the beef bourguignon. For dessert we had the pound cake. The beef bourguignon was amazing. The flavor was very hearty and the beef cubes melted in your mouth. The pound cake was also very nice. There were two waiters and they were both extremely attentitve and quick.

This is a review by a vegetarian I’ve brunched here twice but haven’t tried dinner. It’s excellent fru-fru food with REAL chairs. They accommodated a special request from one diner. Music is too loud and can clash with the serene ambiance otherwise generated by the restaurant design. Might appear to be a tad pricey but it’s a cut above the high volume joints. Importantly, you can make a brunch reservation here if you don’t like waiting in the rain.

Came here for Saturday brunch at 12pm with a friend and had a fantastic experience. The restaurant had a very nice ambiance and beautiful décor, and while they aren’t many tables(maybe 9? with seating for 2 – 6 per), we were seated promptly. We decided to start by splitting the banana bread with fall spiced mascapone and honey. This a deliciously fragrant slice that was soft and just sweet enough. It was the perfect start to the meal and we both really enjoyed it; I highly recommend ordering it! I had the lamb«hash» with 60 minute eggs. This dish was incredible. The pieces of lamb were melt-in-your-mouth tender. I’ve never had 60 minute eggs before, but the soft, barely set whites and runny yolk were delicious. The combination of sweet carrots, earthy brussels sprouts with the egg and lamb was harmony of flavors that made for a perfect savory brunch dish. My friend ordered the house-made ricotta pancakes with kombucha squash and hazelnuts. This was another atypical brunch dish that hit it out of the park. The pancakes were fluffy and lights, the squash added a creative balanced sweetness, and the hazelnuts provided the perfect textural crunch. We were both very happy with our meal, the service, and our overall experience. I definitely recommend this place for brunch and will be happy to come back!

This may just turn out to be my favorite restaurant. The food was fantastic. Seriously every single thing we ordered hit a home run. The beef bourguignon was was probably the most complex in flavor of any I’ve ever had. Their wine list was exceptional, and the staff knew exactly what direction to steer us in after taking the time to talk to me, and understand, what I was looking for. That has never occurred at this level to me anywhere, ever. And I eat out in this town A LOT. The ambiance is great. The food is amazing. The staff was probably the best I’ve ever had(I’m talking about you Bran). Anyway, I can’t wait to come here again and it will probably be very soon. Oh! And they played awesome music!

Have been here for both dinner and brunch. I like their banana bread, with a more subtle banana flavor. It can taste a bit too sweet sometimes though. Didn’t really understand the hoopla behind the sous vide eggs. To me they tasted like regular poached eggs. The has was very good. Fresh and crispy! Overall, eggs benedict with ham made for a hearty breakfast. One minor quibble would be that the amount of ham wasn’t to my liking, too little I felt.

Excellent brunch place in the east side. Verdigris means the pale green-blue color that you get when copper undergoes atmospheric oxidation. Once you know that the décor makes sense. They are known for the 60 minute egg, which is basically egg cooked sous-verde. However I didn’t find it very different from a poached egg. try one and see though, its interesting texture. I got the alaskan halibut fish cakes which were pretty decent. Their toast and jam is stellar, the bread rocks! They had a very nice cold onion soup which was tasty too. But my favorite was the banana bread pudding. so delicious!

I almost don’t want to leave a review because I don’t want people to know about this fabulous brunch spot that we just walked up to and got a seat at. All I can say is Wow! Everything we had was great. I got the 60 minute eggs and ham and it was all so very tender and delicate. Not words I normally use to describe food, but that’s the only way to say it. My husband got the shrimp omelet and the flavors were bold. It was a great combo of flavors too. We also got a side of brioche toast and it was the best I have ever had. It was so moist and tender it was practically falling apart. Make sure you order this. I was also excited to see that Olé Latte coffee cart Coffee is being served there. Next up… dinner. If it’s anything like brunch we will be so happy.

Very rarely does a restaurant blow me away and last night they did just that for me. We had a show we were attending and I randomly found this place originally to try with another couple but they were unable to attend. We arrived an hour after our reservation — horrible I know… but things happen and they left me a lovely message and even remembered my last name upon me confessing after we were seated. The restaurant itself is quaint and decorated simply but very calming. Dark woods and unassuming artwork. The staff — just wow… so nice and genuinely seem to enjoy their jobs. The food moves well too — some places either rush or are too slow — this was perfect speed. We sort of snuck out too right after paying the bill and one of the gentlemen made sure to come outside and say goodbye on behalf of them too… who does that? A good business with amazing manners, that’s who. Just wow… bigtime wow. The food… OMG… First off they have a special for three courses $ 30 they are running all summer so we got a lot of amazing food for a ridiculously good price. Even with that too they bring out wonderful bread and some chilled tomato soup which was to die for. They want you to enjoy your dining experience. Our entire meal was just perfect… and we will be back for certain.
