TSA Checkpoint D/E – Portland International Airport

TSA — constantly breaking records. This time, it took 21minutes to request and agent for an Opt– Out screening.
Got to the front of the line by the body scanner at 10:37 AM.
Agent showed up finally at 10:58 AM.
The radios are useless. 3 different agents asked for a male and female assist 11 times. Yes, I counted.
No on responded.
In the meantime, there were three agents at the front of the check in maze attending to no one in line.

4 Stars for the TSA checkpoint at D/​E in Portland? Oh yes. Why? I have Pre-​Check, so getting through is (almost always) a breeze. Although the last time through I had to perform a «random check» even though I didn’t set off any alarms, while they let other people who didn’t have precheck waltz through.
Overall I’m not a fan of the TSA procedures because I consider them mostly to be security theater, and not actually that effective. But as far as TSA checkpoints at airports go, this one is generally pretty expeditious especially in that Pre-​Check line.

This one is not that bad. I know that does not sound like a glowing report, but for tsa it is!
This group seems to open lines at the right time and keep things moving. Love the older lady in the express lane. She’s been their along time and is very friendly.
There is plenty of room to reassemble yourself after you go thru.
