I highly recommend Scott for anyone needing heating or air conditioning repair or replacement. He replaced our air conditioning unit for our office attic, he did it on time, under budget. He is honest and fair and skilled at what he does, with many years of experience. He loves what he does and it shows in his work. He does quality work, and answered all my questions straightforward. You will not be disappointed if you use Trantel Heating & Cooling, and you will come away feeling like you got the best expertise at the best price.

Let’s get real. I don’t know anything about how our house gets heat. I just push the buttons on a remote and that makes the room hot or cool. Nothing complicated, until it doesn’t work. This why I’m really glad that I can call Scott when that happens.
Scott is a guy who will definitely give you the straight story when it comes to your AC and Heating issues. He has a ton of experience in the industry and is very responsive for emergency calls… and he can do the difficult jobs as well.
He is always very upfront and clear, always giving different scenarios of how much different solutions will cost. In fact, he does a great job of communicating plan, progress, and completion of a job, which can be rare in business.

Scott gave us a quote for several thousands of dollars of boiler work at our church. We accepted the bid and scheduled a start date. When the weather turned hot, he asked to postpone the work since he had so many cooling customers needing his services. We agreed. I have attempted to contact him by phone and email many times now and he just blows me off. I see recent reviews, so he is still alive and in business. He obviously has no intention of honoring our agreement. It seemed like he was an upstanding individual. We obviously are very disappointed. We have gone with another company who values our business.

On the hottest day of the year my heat pump stopped working. Portland was in the middle of a heat wave and I feared that it might be days before it gets fixed. Scott came out the same day of my call, diagnosed the problem, replaced a part and was done in about a half hour. Scott charged me a total of $ 157 for the service: most of the other HVAC businesses were charging $ 170 – 195 for the house call/​diagnostic service alone.
Scott was prompt, polite, friendly, more than competent, and FAIR. I could not recommend him more highly.

I had Scott out to assess the HVAC needs for a run down house were remodeling. It was the first major expense we had in the early stages of the work to be done. We had 2 others bid the job along with Trantel Heating and Air. Scott’s bid came in way below his competitors. Because our funds were so tight, we went with Trantel even though the lowest bid is often low for a reason. They did a very clean and efficient job, giving me very high quality equipment, and what I would say was too cheap for the awesome job they did. My hats off to Trantel Heating because the work turned out to be both affordable, and professional. Once our contract was signed, the customer service and communication to complete the job in a timely manner was phenomenal. Thanks Scott for a better job and price then I would have ever expected. A TRUE professional on several levels. Very very highly recommended by me.
