Really good café mocha; fresh sandwiches; fresh bananas; good selection of drinks and snacks; etc.

I’m at the City of Portland permit office and I notice a Torrefazione sign pointing me to an oasis in a sea of dreary paper work and bureaucracy… and the owner and staff were super nice. Last, but not least, there was the egg, sausage, and cheese breakfast crossiant that was expertly prepared. You know, my day just got better!

Every time I’m in Portland I stop here for breakfast. The marionberry bran muffins are to die for.

I originally stopped in here a month ago because I have Math at the butt crack of Dawn! I ordered an iced Americano and somehow got a hot one that would have been okay; but the coffee it’s self wasn’t great so I’ll stick to my French Press Peets blend — who needs sleep anyway? I have recently given them another shot, but this time it’s purely on their breakfast pastries. WOW! I make my French Press coffee strong and need something to eat with it — these pastries are AMAZING! If you are a coffee snob like me then skip the brew; but you much try the Cheese Danish!

I work in the building so I come here often. Never for the coffee though. I have tried all the sandwiches and sometimes I get a soda. If it wasn’t in my building, I probably wouldn’t come here as often as I do. The sandwiches are not bad though, I need to give credit for that and they are faster then other places nearby.

I am not impressed. I stopped in here today while I was waiting to see someone about zoning since it’s in the building. I got a simple vanilla latte. I stood off to the side and watched them make it. They didn’t steam the milk well at all. All they did was set the wand in the milk and walk away. Even worse then that, they DON’T freshly grind the beans!!! When I saw the guy put the grounds in the basket he never turned on the grinder. So I thought maybe he had some left over from the last espresso so I looked closer and saw the grounds ¾ of the way to the top of the container!!! Talk about going stale! I’m not going to recommend this place to anyone. Now I am not saying they are horrible, I am just more accustomed to a finer latte. THEARESTILLBETTERTHENSTARBUCKS! Just know that when you go in you will get a mediocre coffee. But there prices are cheap so hey?

In a city with a lot to offer in the way of espresso and espresso based drinks, this place is the crown jewel. I typically take at least 3 trips here per week, why? they have some of the best Americanos around, and the couple who own the place do a great job and seem to put a lot of care into their establishment. they also sell a decent assortment of pastries and sandwiches(which are made in store). if it hadn’t been for proximity, i wouldn’t have found this place, but I’m glad I did.

This place gives me my morning, afternoon and evening coffee fix. I love it because I can grab a cup and get right back to the grind of school. Sure there’s better coffee in Portland, but this is super convenient and they are always friendly.

This place has frozen yogurt — um, very cool with the chocolate and vanilla swirl. Plus they have a good selection of other fun ice cream goodies, aka the choco-taco, Klondike bars, and the one and only Snickers ice cream bar. This is a very clean, friendly convenience store with tables to sit at while you are eating one of their salads(accompanied, of course, by an ice cream).
