Starbucks… I love you… I do. I don’t drink coffee and you started carrying that amazing strawberry banana smoothie so I can now have dates with friends who are addicted to you! I kind of hate you for the case of yummy treats which I know are amazing!

This location of Starbucks could be better. It is in a very convenient location for commuters. There are multiple places to plugin electronics. The tables might be a bit narrow for some, but some of the spots lack the very chairs in which it would be particularly easy to pickup at a local department store. I do think that the familiarity is a big asset here. They have plenty of things to eat and darn well of course, to drink. Portland, especially the downtown component, is packed with Starbucks locations, so I would recommend visiting the other Starbucks locations before settling on this one. A giant shrug of the shoulder is the proportionate reaction to this storefront.

I was visiting Portland and had been to a few Starbucks in downtown. This location is right in the middle of downtown and right next to the Hilton’s. While I received exceptional service at other locations, this location focused more on efficiency.

You could call it a moment of weakness. Or you could call it my all-time low. Call it whatever you like, but I’m ashamed to admit that I… went to Starbucks. In Portland! Where there are so many options for fantastic coffee! I don’t even know who I am anymore. So yeah the coffee was Starbucks coffee. You know what you’re getting. So what’s my beef? In this location, literally none of the power outlets work. They say they’re out of order, but how does the power go out everywhere that you might plug in a laptop, but not anywhere else? Then, their wifi is so slow that I can barely function. This can’t all be a coincidence. Instead, I think this might be the most Laptop Class-unfriendly Starbucks on the planet. Now, I’m not a total Starbucks hater. Every single time I fly I treat myself to a Java Chip Frappaccino, It’s my special prize for going in an airplane. But when my feet are on the ground, I vastly prefer the unique, personable touches offered by locally owned roasters and coffee houses. I also prefer places with functional equipment. I’m sorry, Unilocal Community. I feel like I let you down. It won’t happen again.

The merchandise, products and drinks are different than what is in Vancouver which was exciting for me. This location stops right outside the Bolt Bus. Service was very friendly and they even wrote my best friend’s nickname on the cup to embarrass him so that when they yelled, «skinny vanilla latte for Peanut Butter» the look of hate on his face was priceless… latte was good to.

I’m a regular at this Starbucks and almost all of the baristas know me by first name. Always great service!

They get you in and out at a very good clip in the morning. Highly impressed for a downtown location

I am a religious coffee drinker, and I appreciate Starbucks for the fact that I always get a consistent cup of coffee. No matter the location. Therefore, I rate the Starbucks I go to by the staff less than the coffee its self. This location is hit or miss, I have gone everyday this week and they have either been really good or really bad. The first day I went was the worse, the two guys behind the counter seemed so disinterested in serving me, and were just not very pleasant. The next couple of days were better, some of the female employees that work in the morning have been more courteous and quick to fulfill my order. The convenience of this location to the Hilton Executive Tower really dictated my stopping here for my morning cup of coffee, but there are three others still within walking distance. If you appreciate quality service and a smile in the mornings I would recommend one of those. The coffee is still consistent here despite the poor service.

Gotta love the crew at this centrally located Starbucks, yet not as busy as the location in Pioneer Square. Their friendliness and attentiveness makes this otherwise small location very warm and inviting.

I’m pleased to report that the Starbucks in Portland are the same as the Starbucks in Seattle, with the sole difference of there being«Portland» skyline mugs, rather than Seattle. I’m so petty. We stayed down the block at the Hilton Exec Towers and this seemed to be the closest Starbucks. What a godsend. For having to work the morning of New Years Day, the baristas all seemed pretty cool. Drinks came out fast. No complaints here!

This is definitely the best Starbucks in town. A coffee shop is more about the experience and the friendliness of the staff than the coffee in my opinion because you can coffee on just about any corner. Baristas like Allison make stopping for a moment to grab some coffee a breath of fresh air.

It is what it is. But this location has some of the friendliest baristas I’ve seen. Once, I was in the mood for an Italian Soda, and asked them to make me one. I’m not sure how a barista wouldn’t know how to make one, but they asked until someone said«Just have her buy a Pellegrino and add some syrup and cream» So, although it didn’t taste good, I was allowed to be a part of a science experiment. People here are always friendly, and don’t treat you like they’re in as much of a hurry as they are, with the size of the lines. I’m shocked at how quickly a line to the door will go. It’s really quite amazing. Which really sucks for me, because I don’t like the enterprise that is Starbucks, or that they purposely drive out other business, etc.

I don’t go to Starbucks unless I have to which is usually meaning my connection Trimet bus will arrive in less than 10 minutes and I have to catch that bus. Usually, I prefer the Java Man, Caffe Viale, or Dutch Bros by my work. Starbucks is convenient when you are in hurry. There’s always line in this Starbucks, but surprisingly it’s moving in decent speed. Baristas & Caristas(Cashier Baristas TM) are always friendly. When I’m cheap(aka broke) I always get the Iced Coffee. When I’m in the mood of splurge, I dig their Raspberry Mocha($ 3.95 for a cup). Now, the taste of the iced coffee or the raspberry mocha can be delicious one day and taste like bucket of ink the next day(or wayyyy to sweet for the mocha). It is what it is, it’s Starbucks.
