Consistently the worst Starbucks for customer service. 90% of the employees have that«better than thou» attitude and don’t greet you or smile. The only thing good about this particular store is the location.

One of my favorite locations! Glass windows everywhere to provide natural lighting, nice window seating for people watching, and nice air ventilation so you don’t smell like coffee!

I really dislike having to write negative reviews. However, I must say I am down grading my star count. If I could give less I would. After having long conversations with the District Manager and the store Manager earlier today I wad assured my problem would be resolved. Apparently not, I usually use mobile ordering based out of convenience since this location is a transfer point for light rail. DONOT use Pioneer Square location for movie ordering. If you do do not expect it to be ready. I went place my order at 8:20p via Mobil app which indicated the order should be ready in 8 min max. When I arrived I waited for 5 additional minutes before I said something. I walked up to the head cashier, Matt and he just pulled the cup sticker off the machine which was right in front of him. Furthermore the order was also on the printer at the pick up area. NOONE bothered to to heck the orders. I explained to Matt that I had conversations with both the District Manager and the Store Manager and the inconvenience they are causing. The employees at this location apparently forgot who pays there pay check. Matt even told me that I should consider using a slower store for my mobile orders. Well I feel maybe Matt should consider relocating to a slower store since he apparently and quite often doesn’t care about the customers who place their orders via the mobile app. So do not use your mobile app to place your orders here and expect to wait for your order this is also not the location to us if you are depending on meeting your connection on light rail.

standard cup of drip, but my girlfriend’s burnt butterscotch whatever was poorly made and nearly undrinkable. the four baristas i could see were standing around enjoying one another’s company instead of dealing with the messy lobby — trashes were overflowing while tables stayed sticky and trash littered the floor. very lazy for such an important location

4 stars is really for the location. This is in such a great location! If I lived here I would come here to work, study, and just hang out. The windows give you a great opportunity to people watch. It seems like it’s open quite late too. It was close to 11 when we were there. The staff could be a bit more friendly though.

Starbucks is Starbucks. Yes a very profound statement. But seriously they are all pretty much exactly the same. The only reason I am writing a review for this one is because the customer service. Came here on Christmas Eve, the place was packed and the line was double looped around. I was going to leave but decided to just stay because I really wanted a warm beverage. The line went surprisingly fast, I mean really fast. They cleared the line in under 5 minutes. They are well trained here which is a good thing being that it is in a very high foot traffic area. The folks were super friendly and joyful especially for people that had to work Christmas Eve. My chestnut praline latte was delicious and exactly what I needed to walk around on a cold, rainy day.

Got the Holiday Spice Flat White made of whole milk and holiday spices(cinnamon, ginger, cloves) and at 30g of sugar it’s not that sweet. I’ve been sugared out from all the holiday treats, so it’s a nice change. Usually I taste the burnt beans at SB but his one I couldn’t tell as much. I was very cold due to my winter coat being soaked and figured it’s time to warm up. Convenient location so expect longer lines and wait time, but customer service is good and nice area to wait for friends or take a rest before heading to next destination. And no, the plain red cup does not bother me. But environmental damage it causes does. So I bring my own champagne colored thermo, peace :)

Location is convenient. I was on vacation and needed a quick fix. Line went by fast and my drink was made as good as I ask for it to be.

Like most of the reviews I scanned said, all Starbucks menus are pretty much the same. Same drinks, same food, same prices, pretty much. This one stands out for its location. It is in Pioneer Square and has inside seating and an outside patio with views of the square. I identify this spot as where you meet people, dates, friends I don’t know how many people have told me to meet them here. It is good for that. It is convenient to all of downtown. Service is always good and I like the architecture. Trivia! When this place opened in 1989 it was the first Starbucks in Oregon and the 40th branch for Starbucks anywhere. There are more then that in just the Portland metro area today(I saw a list that said 55 though I don’t know how old that list is it didn’t seem to list many of the ones inside of other stores.

I waited in a very long line for an ice water on a hot day. I had already ordered coffee that morning and am a gold card holder(not that that makes me super special, but … I buy coffee regularly). Anyway, it was hot, I wanted water, and I patiently waited in line(instead of cutting to the counter like many do). The gal told me they DONTGIVEFREEWATER there. Ok fine, so I offered to buy the water. She said she would only give me a water if I purchased another item. So with no solution I just turned around and left. I mean, they probably get a lot of homeless people bothering them for water because of the location. But I’m clearly not, and she should have been able to tell the difference between someone who could potentially be a regular or future customer, and not. This was frustrating for me.

I absolutely love this place.(It doesn’t hurt that I work next door either) Amanda and Nick make this place extra great as they always go above and beyond for things. They all know my order and make it perfect every time. They talk just enough to make you feel like you’re not just another«number» but not so much it holds up the line or you think«man…i just want to wake up with coffee before this conversation.»

Try the clover coffee. A little more expensive but worth it. Visiting Portland? Grab a City Mug

Why keep the news papers behind the counter? No one can see them or decide which paper they would like to read that day. How was that a good decision?

With at least 7 other coffee shops within a 3-block radius, the choices are many! Nonetheless, I always gravitate towards Starbucks at Pioneer Square. As a former coffee shop owner, I am very selective about my coffee and the staff at this location always get it right! The only drawback is that sometimes the music is a bit too loud, but it’s okay as I’m usually in and out! The service is always fast and friendly! In spite of being a huge chain, the employees there make me feel like I am at my local mom and pop café since even though I’m only an occasional coffee drinker, staff like Michael and Cajia, have not only memorized my drink but also know my name. How about that!?!

Starbucks at Pioneer Square has a reliable metric if we are going to reference the run-of-the-mill Starbucks. It has the typical products of medium-quality food at a medium-enthusiasm price. Their LaBoulange supplier in the San Francisco Bay Area has and continues to have acceptable culinary foundations for their new responsibilities at such a scale. It’s difficult but nevertheless admirable to not become another McDonald’s when a small institution has a world to conquer. It can get a little distracting with the commuters. The tables are nice, but there are other coffee places in Portland. Outside is the major transit institutions of the state with Amtrak, BoltBus and TriMet in close range. Starbucks at Pioneer Square is a good institution to have avalible. Sometimes the bottled drinks are a little pricy and the $ 5 juice and $ 3 water just screams obnoxious. They do a good job for the volume of foot traffic. It’s also a smaller Starbucks then others located a few blocks away. I’d reccomend visiting those instead.

This location is conveniently located at the heart of Downtown Portland. I was on lunch the other day and decided to check my Starbucks app for any cool coupons linked to my Starbucks Gold Card. They’ve been doing that a lot lately and it was cool that I checked because there was one! Having this card has been pretty sweet and this one was for $ 2 off food. I went ahead and bought a $ 2.25 brownie, which for me only cost $ 0.25. Not a bad deal if you ask me. The person at the register was super nice and made the transaction really seamless. Always a plus in customer service!

I am not particularly a Starbucks fan but this location is the best I have ever been to! This happens to also be Starbucks first location in Portland. This Starbucks at Pioneer Square in downtown Portland serves coconut milk, has unique antique décor lighting, fireplace, indoor/outdoor design and transportation access with Pioneer Square location is ideal. Starbucks has a very limited menu and steps it up here. Perhaps maybe because it’s Portland with AMAZING coffee shops that raise the bar and clearly surpass Seattle coffee for quality, brewing, taste and presentation. *This Starbucks served coconut milk! Typically you have no milk options at Starbucks. it’s either milk or soy milk. Imagine my surprise when confirmed they have coconut milk! *Taste was good, not burnt tasting. I don’t think the beans are different than other locations but it’s good. *Downfall is their long very slow lines, but what else is new. At least our order was accurate. *This location had very nice vintage lights to fit its Pioneer Square ideal downtown location. *The overall design layout of this Starbucks is very cool. It brings the outside beauty inside. Very tastefully designed. They even have a FIREPLACE! Starbucks actually took some effort is aesthetics at this location *Ample room inside to sit as well as the entire Pioneer Square to relax and enjoy the coffee. *MAX Public transportation right there too!

I get my morning coffee here, when in Portland. Its a great place to people watch, or hang out outside in Pioneer Square. This is an excellent location, right across the street from Nordstorm too!
