Si’s Hair Salon

Si is very kind hearted. She gave me a perfect haircut. I usually have a hard time finding someone who can cut my hair properly but she did an excellent job! I love hair stylists who pay attention to detail and make sure they didnt miss any spots. Will be coming back every month :) There’s one spot to park right in front of the shop. Or else you gotta do street parking behind the shop where available.

Great local place to get a quick cut. Inside it’s pretty small, just a couple of chairs and a small couch for waiting. I’ve never had a problem making same-​day appointments and it’s just $ 15 for a men’s cut — though, no shampoo, but still. The location is kind of hard to find and parking is scarce as it’s mostly side streets behind the building. Anyway, give this place a shot if you’re looking for a cheap fast cut!

I had been looking for someone who could consistently cut my hair the way I want it for several years, and I’ve finally found that person. I’ve been coming to Si for monthly haircuts for a couple years now. She always does a consistently good job and you can’t beat the price– still $ 14 (before tip) for a men’s haircut, which is pretty much unheard of in this day and age. And unlike other cheap haircut places, you won’t come out looking like you got a cheap haircut. Si does every bit as good of a job as the place I was going to previously, which charged almost twice as much! Beaverton isn’t even my usual neck of the woods, but I’ll gladly drive up here for a spiffy haircut.
Si seems to be quite popular, so you may have a short wait while she finishes up with another customer, but I’ve never had to wait for long. She works pretty quickly, so while I’ve never once felt like she was rushing through my haircut, I no longer have to procrastinate in getting a one because it might could take a big chunk out of my already busy day (which was a big issue with some of the places I’d tried before). I do always call ahead for an appointment, but can usually get one for the same day.

You get what you pay for. Uneven hair cut and long wait while a bunch of Asian ladies yakking away.
You can probably get a better hair cut at Super Cuts with better service and the same amount of money.

Moved to Portland in January. I have thick, wavy hair with multiple cowlicks. I’ve always had a hard time finding someone who can cut my hair and make look good. I’d been with the same woman for about 7 years in Denver, and it was hard to leave. After reading a few reviews of Si’s, I decided to give her a shot. I’m glad I did. Her pricing is… great. And she knows how to do a razor cut. I’ve found my Portland hair place.

You want your hair done well? You want it in an affordable manner? Well, this is it. No frills with all skills hair salon. Si will take care of your hair. A men’s haircut will cost you $ 14 (excluding tip) and women’s run about $ 19.
She is always booked so I would call ahead for an appointment. Parking could be limited in front but you can park at the back by the street. You will walk out like you have been styled by a top hair stylist. Just make sure you give her specific instructions/​pictures of how you want your hair to look.
Since this is a small business, cash is the mode of payment.

I was having a really crappy hair day. A really crappy hair day that turned into a really crappy hair week. So after passing by Si’s several times a week for the past 4 years, I finally gathered up the courage to get my haircut here. I figured sure why not give it a go? What a relief. Si did a really great job with my layers. I’m in the process of trying to recover from a choppy haircut. It’s taking a really long time — have you ever watched hair grow? I explained this to Si and she was understanding; she could see the direction the last person who had cut my hair was going in, and proceeded to continue with that vision. For only $ 19 (excluding tip) I was able to get a great haircut during my lunch break. Si’s Hair Salon is a hole in the wall, you would never ever be able to find it unless someone told you about it. There really isn’t any parking, so be prepared to find a spot on Canyon Lane, and bring cash because it is a small business and they appreciate the gesture.

I’m Asian, and for the past ten years that I’ve been in the states, I’ve had a totoal of two hair cuts that I really liked, and one of them was by Si. She does layering really really well with a razor (if you are Asian or know asian you’d know how important that is). And most importantly, she doesn’t charge an arm and a leg for a hair cut.
I’ve had 90-​dollar hair-​cuts, I’ve had 50-​dollar hair-cuts…Si only charges 19 and it’s better than any of those pricey ones.
Her salon is tiny and hole-​in-​the-​wall-​ish, but that doesn’t stop me. I’d much rather pay for the hair cut here and enjoy sparkling water somewhere else than have a crappy cut in a fancy salon ;)

She knows how to cut hair. Pretty well. I’ve been getting my hair cut here from time to time for over 5 years and I have never left unsatisfied. She kinda tries to do her own thing as far as styling goes at the end of the hair cut though, and it never looks the way I would style it personally.
But you just gotta be very specific about the cut you want and they way you want it cut. Sometimes she tries to take a straight razor to my hair and I have to stop her. :) Pictures are good. Bring pictures.
