There are many things to try in this area so it was really difficult to decide on a specific food. What helped us decide on this place was the inviting woman giving us a sample. I’ve had this type of food before so there is nothing special about the taste. The service was great which helped me enjoy my food. I tried the teriyaki chicken with white rice and vegetables. I recommend it.

The best service I’ve ever received from a food cart ever. Since it was Chinese New Year, I thought I’d eat some Asian cuisine for lunch. Ended up here and was welcomed with a smile. I ordered the Chow Fun with beef and unfortunately the lady said they were out. I resorted to chicken until she said she found what was actually her last portion of beef. Yay! The wait time was not long(10 minutes max.) and while I took my food, she told me to have a great day and to come back soon and try something different. The lady was super accommodating by putting some hot sauce in the top corner of my to go box to spice up my food, if I so desired. I took my food to eat in Pioneer Courthouse Square and the food was alright. It’s definitely different from the Chow Fun I’m used to eating. I think she cooked it Vietnamese style because there were cherry tomatoes cooked into the dish(so weird to me). Chinese style cuisine definitely pleases my tastebuds more. The service was still so very pleasant and yes, I will come back one of these days to try something different!

I have been eating at Saigon Food To Go for over 10 years working downtown. I have to say this cart serves one of the best Asian food among the slew of carts in the area. Their Vietnamese beef noddles soup aka Phở and Wonton soup are two of my favorite. Owner is nice and very accommodating, always make them to the way you like it.

This is a solid 3 star food cart. It is not amazing in the sense that you can’t find the type/style of food anywhere else but it is also not a bottom of the barrel cart location either. It’s a typical ‘asian’ style cart with a few different food offerings all of which will satisfy and the prices are very typical and inline with the surrounding businesses. The service is generally pretty quick as well. She does have some kind of hot sauce that she adds if I ask for it(just a little dollop on the side) that is really good and really warm so if you like spicy be sure to ask for it. The woman that runs the cart is really nice. A good rounded experience keeps me coming back, along with the convenience of it!

Seeing a Korean woman behind the counter seemed a bit dubious, but I was just excited to see so many vendors offering Vietnamese fare. I was tempted to try their phở but opted for the safer and easier-to-eat goi cuon(which is apparently known as «salad roll» around these parts) instead at $ 1.50/each. The price is a bit steep but the rolls were fresh — definitely made that morning because the rice paper was still deliciously soft and supple(every spring roll enthusiast knows how hard and tough the banh trang gets when refrigerated for ANY period of time). The sauce was not particularly special but good nonetheless. It satisfied my craving, but at the same time it made me long for the authentic Vietnamese food back home.

Ahh another fish and chip cart in the area. I think fairly average as fish and chips go. When i was there your choice of fishes were tilapia or cod battered and on a bed of chips. i know boring review but it’s hard to get more descriptive for fish and chips. The one thing that was unique about this place is their thousand island ish sauce has horseradish in it for a pleasant bite.

Ah Portland. Your serene landscape, beautiful views, and yes… you got it… your endless supply of food carts. What more could you ask for? This visit was to Saigon Food to Go. Easily accessible on the corner of 5th and Stark. Spring rolls for $.75 each and $ 1.50 for what they call a salad roll.(Spring roll in San Diego). Both were pretty good and add really nice service and you’ve got a winner. I did wait a bit for my food, but she was serving a few people before me and by the looks of it, made their food fresh. That never hurts. Now if they would just deliver…5 stars for sure!

Hey, this stand makes me want Chinese food. I got Chinese food. I got fried rice and teriyaki chicken. This is what I got for $ 5.25. Yay! I’m trying to find something great or bad to say about this cart, but that really sums it up. Nothing amazing about it and nothing grossed me out. Very straight-forward Chinese served post-haste.

The awning says«Saigon Food To Go», but I don’t think those last three are part of the title. Pretty good stuff. I had the teriyaki beef, the teriyaki was a bit gingery, whereas I prefer sweet teriyaki sauces. The beef was probably flank or skirt, I wouldn’t go so far as to say chewy, but not the shredded stuff you get at a lot of Happy [Noun] places. The spring rolls are $.75 and pretty good. They’re not the grease tubes you get at some joints(tho I kinda like those), you can eat these without a glove. I had to wait a few minutes for my food(the very nice lady manning the counter warned me before she took my money) so I dunno if they were just out or some portion of the menu is cooked to order. Price was good, $ 7.25 for teriyaki beef w/rice & veggies, a can of pop and a spring roll.
