Rose City Self Storage & Wine Vaults

My search for a new storage facility ended quickly, as I was impressed from the minute I arrived! Clean, organized, multiple elevators (and fast), lots of carts, clear signage etc. Jennifer was great, personable and still professional. She took the time to show me a unit, with no pressure to sell. The unit itself was clean, well lit, and secure. She explained all the rules and policies clearly. Check this place out, better than 99% of the others I’ve used or inquired. Definitely helped getting a monthly discount.

I rented a Uhaul cargo van and the process of picking up and dropping off the van was very efficient and friendly.

This place has lots of «rules»…don’t be here after 6pm or the bay doors will close on you, only one dolly may be used at a time, only one elevator may be used at a time. The girl there had no problem telling us we had to be outta there by 6pm but we could only use one elevator and one dolly. There was no one else there. She was very aggravating with all the rules and was a complete watchdog the 20 minutes we were there unloading. Be prepared to ask very specific questions when you rent from here. On the positive side it was very clean and played music for your enjoyment while on the inside.

This place has the cleanest and most secure self storage in the Portland area! I would, will and have been recommending this facility since they opened with Darla King as manager.

Wow wow wow!!! I’ve NEVER seen such a beautiful self storage place. Really nice facility, great atmosphere, totally professional. I would give them 5 stars, but they are a bit spendy. I love absolutely everything about this place except I wish they were just a little bit less on cost. However, even having said that, I’m willing to pay because of the way I was treated and the quality of the storage facility. I highly recommend them for people where cost is not a big factor! Really great place.

This place is great and so are the prices of their units. I was able to get after hour access and my belongings are secured while I’m working in Cali. The’re cameras everywhere and the staff is very aware of who’s coming and going and greet me by my first name when ever I’m in town to check on my unit. I like the fact that you have to code in to access the elevators and can only go to the floor your unit is on. The neighborhood is pretty scary because of the homeless that live and sleep in the street, it’s an industrial area, and all the crazies that call Portland home. I always bring a friend with me when I go before (as early as 0600) and after (until 2200) because of where it’s located. Some of the tenants are creepy and I had one scary experience with an tenant. I brought it to the attention of management and felt it was takened care of to the best of their abilities. The halls have local street name which I think is cute and the facility in a whole is really clean. In the past with other storage facilities I’ve had my unit broken into, overrun by rats and roaches, and horrible customer service. This place is 100% proffessional and is deserving of 5 stars in my opinion. Paying for my unit each month is easy and you have a couple of options. I usually pay over the phone or you can do it online. There are carts (I’ve used 3 at a time and noone said anything to me) you can use to move your stuff, there’s a charge to use a hand truck, and covered parking (4) if they’re available (97%) of the time they are.

We moved our business operations over to Rose City right after they opened. We could not be happier with the facility or the staff. They are very accommodating, friendly, and always willing to lend a hand! I am not sure the comments about «lot’s of rules.» We find the atmosphere relaxed and organized. Thanks Rose City!

They list themselves as a U-​haul outlet but they clearly have little interest, or bandwidth, for such a service. I’m giving 2 stars only because the customer service was friendly and the bad service could partially be U-haul’s fault (but Rose City still deserves much of the blame).

Did you know that they offer late night access to only SOME of their clients?
With under two weeks’ notice to move out of a crazy landlord situation at home, a lot of business and a business trip to take care of while trying to move, we ended up having only the last day to move everything out into a storage unit.
We were referred there by a friend who had late night access, he said we should go for it. We went and signed up for a space, I saw all the late night access keypads, and never did it cross my mind to specifically ask «Are we able to get into our space after office hours?» Nor did it cross their mind to let us know we’d be locked out after 6PM. I should have asked, we ended up there with a car load full of stuff and more to come, on the last day we were able to move out, and no way to get in. At first we didn’t even know why we couldn’t get in. We spent close to two hours out front, at night, on the phone with the late night emergency contact. It was revealed that we wouldn’t be able to get in and there was absolutely nothing the manager was going to do for us.
Only renters who are business owners have late night access as an option here, but they’re not going to tell you that if you’re not signing up as a business (or a wine owner, I think). Among myself and the person I was with we own a total of four businesses. I understand that miscommunications happen, and I’m not one to hold something against someone, but this is a pretty poor business decision and I was pretty pissed about the whole situation. A couple months’ reduced rent in recompense doesn’t give me my time or frustration back.

From the minute I talked to John about my storage options, I knew I was in the right place. Clean, well-​kept, reasonably priced and conveniently/​centrally located, with really state of the art security and overall facility. Very organized and super easy to work with, plus their building is just gorgeous. My only complaint is that they pipe in music to the storage places, and the last few times I have been there it was jazz. MY STUFF HATES JAZZ! OK, I am the one who hates jazz, so after hanging around there for a couple of hours, I was kind of over it. If you are not a weirdo like me, you and your stuff will be so happy you called Rose City. I really enjoyed working with these guys. I had a unit here for about 9 months. All were clean and they have a variety of sizes. Sometimes the parking is jammed and the trains can rumble you around, but all in all, they are really nice to work with and very responsive.

This storage facility kicks booty! My boyfriend and I own our own business, and we plan to have ice cream bicycle carts this summer, but will need a central location downtown to keep them in, so we were checking out storage locations. Nobody else is flexible on the time it can be accessed or as super friendly as they were. We definitely plan to sign with them this summer when we have all our ice cream bikes to store!
