We came for lunch and the restaurant side was completely empty and cold. Felt awkward. There were about 20 people in the bar though. We ordered a burger, the brisket sandwich, and kids Mac. My burger bun was really good and the burger as a whole was good; I was just disappointed in the cooking of it. When they took my order they asked how I wanted it cooked and I said medium. It was very well done and dry– why even bother asking? Husband was happy with the flavor of the brisket but said it was pretty fatty and wished they’d offered a plate of brisket instead of the chopped sandwich. Took a long time to get the food. Otherwise, service was friendly and food was decent!

Can’t say if the food or drinks are any good because we couldn’t get service. The table next to us got their food but we weren’t acknowledged so after 5 minutes my husband went to the bar and waited until he lost patience and we left. Funny thing is we were told thanks for coming in when we got up from the table to leave. Won’t attempt coming here again.

While the service here is hit and miss the food is always great had a thin crust BBQ chicken pizza that was SOOO good I couldn’t stop eating it. With a Long Island iced tea it was the perfect meal. I’m so lucky to be within walking distance of this great neighborhood watering hole.

Came in for their lunch special during a break in btwn classes. Food was really good and the low key atmosphere and free wifi made studying here perfect. If you’re looking for a neighborhood feel place with yummy food, look no further.

I thought it was a good idea to update my review because, sometimes, places change management or chefs leave. Not the story here. Come for the food, stay for the food! And the drinks. And the service. I just enjoyed the spaghetti with meat sauce and honestly it’s as good as the sauce you would make at home except they use their trimmings from their wagyu beef they use for the hamburgers so… enough said. Don’t just drive by thinking that it looks like another mediocre saloon because if you do, you’ll be sorry!

Alex our server was warm and friendly. The dining room is quaint and comfortable. My son and myself both got iced tea a d their fried chicken with mashed potatoes gravy and sautéed spinach. Our dinner was amazing. Service was amazing. What a great place we found to dine tonight. We will be back to try more items on this menu. Great dinner. If I could give more stars I would

We had high hopes based upon all the great reviews for this restaurant. There were many cars in the parking lot but not a lot of people in the restaurant so I’m assuming everyone hangs out in the bar. I ordered a steak that was supposed to be served with fries and mixed vegetables. Unfortunately, the mixed vegetables were mostly potatoes so I had an abundance of spuds. The fries were not hot when they were served. However, the most frustrating thing was that the steak was really thick on one end and thin on the other. The thick end was really rare and the thin end was well done. It was served in a large bowl type dish which made it extremely hard to cut the meat since it wasn’t on a flat plate. A big plus to our server who was friendly and attentive. He made mediocre food an enjoyable experience. I’m stumped how our meal wasn’t that great with all the good reviews. I’m wondering if it was just an off night? We may give it another try in the future.

This place is doing good business – both in the sense that their parking lot is frequently full and that they’re doing what a restaurant/bar should be doing to keep it that way. We’ve lived close-by for far too long without checking it out and now we’re really sorry it took so long. Positives: 1. Our server, Ashley, was there when we needed her without ever crossing that magical line where a server is there«too much.» Perfect balance, friendly, and thoughtful without being asked(we merely mentioned we would be sharing a few entrees as it was our first time here, and she had the order split without being asked. I purposely didn’t ask because I used to work at a restaurant and«split» orders used to annoy me. So it was much appreciated). 2. Kids menu items. A lot of kids menus look great, but the food turns out to be an afterthought. This place is the opposite. My son’s burger was every bit as good as mine, and the portion was generous. THAT’S the kind of thing that brings parents back in to spend money on more expensive entrees and beer. Good business and also much appreciated. 3. The food was great. The other reviews here pretty much make this clear, and I’d agree. 4. The atmosphere was great. Nothing special in the back dining room, but importantly, it wasn’t loud, dark, or chaotic. Relaxing diner sorta vibe. We haven’t eaten on the other side yet. Looks like that’s where most of the people were. Looked like a lot of regulars in the dining room, but in a good way. We didn’t feel unwelcome at all. The prices seem high when you first look at the menu, but after eating there, I’d say they’re very much in line with the quality. Will definitely be back.

This is our local go to spot! Fresh and high quality local ingredients, great food and friendly staff. I called to ask if their gluten free bun has almond flower in it(which I am allergic to) and she went into the kitchen to read me all ingredients. The buns are amazingly delicious by the way! Potato based. The burgers a great, pizza is yummy, honestly I haven’t had anything there that wasn’t really good! Check it out!

So, Rock Creek Corner corner has been in this spot since the 1930s when it was a general store and local gathering place, in a pretty darn rural part of Washington County. According to the restaurant website you could even buy dynamite from a shed out back. Cool. I moved to the Bethany area from Sellwood around 2006 and thought it was only a run down, kinda sketchy looking bar with an equally dilapidated house next door with a dirt and gravel parking lot. Why was it so close to our cookie cutter suburban rental and why did it look like buildings in old Tombstone Arizona? I didnt really care to know. But then I heard they had pizza. So we got some, to take out, and it was good. Really pretty darn good. I live in a bit of a pizza desert. Then I heard there was breakfast. So we tried that, and it was ok.(fyi I dont think they serve breakfast anymore). Then the building got a little face lift. And the old house disappeared. And a veggie garden and patio appeared in its place. And the parking lot got paved. Okay then! We went in for lunch after moving my former brother in law out of my living room into his apartment.(Yes!) The dining room is funky. Very old west. Kids allowed. Beer was good. Cocktail list looked good. Service was good. Water refilled without asking. The food was delicious. Brother in law had a turkey reuben and homemade potato salad that he said was tasty. They offer refills on that according to other reviews. Our server didnt mention that tho’. Ex had a chicken sandwich and tasty fries.(Also supposedly refillable). Princess had flatbread with salmon(listed on their online menu but not in house menu but they kindly made it for her anyway and she LOVED it). My arugula pear salad was wonderful. I added tasty grilled chicken. It had ripe pears, warm toasty pecans, creamy herby goat cheese and a crisp parmesan toast thingy. Perfect. This was a fabulous lunch! Love their fresh local focus and we will do it again. Um, not in quite the same group of people though;)

My next favorite place to frequent now. We ordered the calamari(tasty but a bit greasy, needs to be crispier), $ 4 kid’s meal(generous portion), the pulled pork entrée(bottomless fries were a plus), and the pear salad(impressed with the flavor and not-so-heavy dressing). A great casual bar atmosphere/tavern ambiance too!

Delicious farm to table meal: Brisket tacos for starter, tender tasty with freshly made salsa Tomato basil soup homemade with fresh picked ingredients from their garden out back. Veggie side with zucchini, yellow squash, watercress with a light dressing full of flavor. Hubby had the special: salmon mashed potatoes with steak julienne(free range) and veggie medley as well. He all but licked the plate. Our server, Michael was excellent so enthusiastic and knowledgable about the menu and ingredients. He was very attentive to our needs. We will be back

We were craving good burgers on our way to the coast and we Unilocaled this place. The burgers were phenomenal, the chicken sandwich that mom ordered was great as well, and the fish tacos were excellent. Not one bad thing that I can say about this place. The service was polite and on point. If we were from the area we would definitely be back!

Rock Creek corner is one of those places that lacks outer appeal, but once you sit and order you will not be disappointed. We had Mother’s Day dinner for four. We had heard the calamari were best in town. Probably true, delicious. Also the bacon wrapped steak tenders, the jalapeño burger, their cocktails, and even the crem bulee. We will be back soon.

This was my first visit to this restaurant, I have driven past this place many times and the parking lot is always full, that’s aways a good sign in my eyes. We had a friend visiting and we decided to give this place a try. We arrived around lunch time and we’re kind of surprised that the parking lot had very few cars in it but decided to go in. When we walked in we were greeted right away by a young lady that’s always a good sign in a staff who takes pride in customer service. The dinning room was very clean and had a country decorations such as farm equipment and mix and matches chairs at the tables. They were playing odd music for a country themed restaurant, I expected country music. I like the fact the drinks come out in large mason jars $ 2.00 for an ice tea that’s like two in one and the tea was strong. The food was really good but my only complaint is that the portions are on the small side, I ordered the Ruben really good flavor but needed more dressing on it. The potato salad was awesome only thing I can say is add more salt and pepper, you could tell it was homemade as it had fresh onion, celery and perfectly cooked potato’s, they even give you bottomless refills on the potato salad. I have never seen this before. The waitress was very friendly and always made sure we had refills. I will give this place another chance, and I would recommend it to others.

I can’t believe it took me 6 years to try this place; I can’t stop eating here now! Their burgers are to die for, huge, juicy, taste charbroiled and fresh. I love that the sides like fries, tots, and their amazing homemade potato salad with chunks of bacon are«bottomless»(and they are delish too)! They have a huge garden and try to source the majority of their food locally when they can, which is great. Their steak dip is fantastic, the steak is so tender and it comes with caramelized onions and bell peppers(a few too many peppers for my liking so I order it without). I’ve also had the Chicken Saltimbocca which is a prosciutto wrapped breast that is breaded and pan fried. It came with delicious real mashed potatoes and wonderful sautéed spinach. My only complaint is that the chicken was a little dry. If the breasts were a little thicker it’d be perfect! Their perfectly brewed iced tea and sodas come in huge mason jars, and you never need refill, but they’re free too if you need :) I do have to say the 2 dislikes I have at RCC are: 1) the ketchup is gross(thankfully I’m not a ketchup person, but the bf is and that causes an issue). I understand they are about«organic, farm fresh, etc.» But some Simply Heinz would really be great! On the plus side, they have good ranch so, that makes up for it :) 2) We got take-out one time and it was absolutely horrible. If the take out would’ve been the first impression, I would’ve never returned, but thankfully it wasn’t :) Now, I look forward to eating here every time!

As a PCC student… I have been driving by this place for two months and every time I went by I would think to myself ‘I want to eat there’. From the outside it looks like an old timey western bar-façade thingy… and the inside is no less charming. Also, I saw that they boast food being grown right in their backyard. Had the blackened salmon sandwich which comes with tots(I love the Pacific NW… I have never had so many tater tots as I have out here) and the fish had a serving of coleslaw under it. It was love at first bite. I felt like Goldilocks, fish was not over done at all… not under… it was juuust right! Tots were crispy and perfect little pillows of potatoes. Oh, and had a mojito. It was okay, my family is from Cuba… so I’m a bit spoiled. ONLYDOWNSIDE: Menu is pretty limited. Lunch you are pretty much stuck with the salmon sandwich, hamburgers, and pizza. I have yet to have decent pizza on the west coast. MAYBE I’ll go back and give it a whirl. Go there — it’s cozy, service is friendly, and the food is spot on.
