Unfortunately one of the worst cups of cold brew I’ve had in a while. Extremely bright with no depth of flavor. Out of the 3 coffees we bought, only one was drinkable. On the upside, the staff is extremely friendly and genuine, was greeted with smiles and happiness.

Really enjoyed the 3 cheese sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich. Would definitely recommend either of them. Food was out in front of us in a reasonable amount of time.

Just Yes. I swung by here on my way home from the Post Office up the street because I saw the ‘RR’ sign in the window and I adore Ristretto Roasters Coffee. I ordered a Lavender Latte — they make their syrup in house and it is exceptional! It has those floral notes without being overly sweet. I plan to return often. I did not try their food, so I cannot say one way or another, but there were a lot of people eating, so that seems promising. I’ll update my review if I grab a bite in the future.

My neighborhood coffee shop. Good Coffee, great(and very underrated) pastry selection, good small bites. I would not recommend going mid-morning on Saturday or Sunday, if you do beware of the children running up and the down the café.

Posies is a cute café with comfortable seating, good food options, and almost always a crap ton of kids running around. They scream, they stomp about, and they run into patrons tables(so hold onto your coffee). If none of that bothers you, Posies is great! Unfortunately, if it does, you’re sort out of luck because it’s the only coffee shop with good seating in the neighborhood. Maybe some parents love this place, because they let your kids run about like it’s a Chuck E Cheese, but it’s just too much otherwise.

I don’t honestly know how to rate this place accurately. Their product is high quality, especially the food. However, I never leave there having felt like I had a good a good experience. I have lived in this neighborhood for eight years and, though it looks like a very inviting space, I’ve never wanted to stick around for very long. In fact, I typically walk to a different shop, even though it’s not as visually appealing, because I feel more welcomed there. The staff is not excessively rude but certainly not friendly. I guess that’s really what it boils down to for me. When I ask how a person is doing and the answer is ‘What can I get for you?’, that really invalidates me as a person who deserves the same cordiality that I give out. I feel like this is the tone I’ve been addressed with in most of my visits to Posies. Every few months I think I’ll give it another try and almost invariably, I’m disappointed. I’m done with that, though. Maybe I’m not keeping it sufficiently weird for this place but I’d sure like to be treated with the same politeness that I endeavour to approach people with.

My sister introduced me to this coffee shop several years ago and it was love at first bite. I’d like to think that I am a coffee and pastry connoisseur and I’ve come to the conclusion that Posies has THEBEST scones and pastries I’ve ever had. I’ve tried every single kind of pastry they put out and it would be impossible for me to pick a favorite, but the scones are to die for. Unfortunately I moved out of the area several years ago so I only get to go to Posies a few times a year. Every time I come back to visit Portland, Posies is one of the first places I have to go to, and go back several more times before I leave. Because they are just that good! Posies has such an awesome vibe to it too, on top of all of the amazing food and drink. I love the décor, the friendly employees, the fun little room for the kids to play, everything about it is just perfection. I would most definitely recommend posies to anyone and everyone. They have a great variety of drinks and food and there’s something for everyone there. If you haven’t been here yet, do yourself a favor and carve out some time to go. You won’t regret it!

I’ve walked by this place a few times and have wanted to try it. Finally on Monday my husband and I stopped in for lunch. I had the grilled cheese and he had the roast beef and a house coffee. We also split the hummus plate. My impressions: The grilled cheese was super good. Like really really creamy, melty, good. My husband thought his roast beef was also pretty good, though I don’t know if he was a wow’d as I was. He initially ordered the pulled pork but they were sold out. We both loved the side of potato salad that came with our sandwiches. The hummus was standard — nothing that stood out. I really want to come back and try the various baked goods on display. They all looked amazing.

Just moved to the area and live this coffee shop. They are non pretentious and the avocado toast and baked goods are fresh and delicious. Kenton is not yet overrun with people and I really like that. It can be crowded making it hard to find a spot to sit and at times its over run with kids, strollers moms dads and yes more kids. Despite that it’s a good coffee shop.

They treat my kid right. That’s something that’s worth mentioning. They are always ok with a kids hot chocolate and its always the right temperature. He enjoys playing in the kids room and looks forward to coming here. This is invaluable to our family.

Very expensive for portion size. A friend and I had a late lunch here recently. We both ordered sandwiches. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and service was quick, but my friend and I were both shocked by the small amount of food we received. Tiny sandwiches, half the size of what I’d expect. Small dollops of a side salad and a very small pickle. Served on a standard-sized dinner plate. Both sandwiches contained meager ingredients. The reuben had only a few shreds of sauerkraut on it and barely noticeable swiss cheese. Huh? What gives? My friend and I left hungry; I didn’t want dessert; I was still wanting a meal. Suggestion: If determined to continue serving tiny portions, try serving on a saucer or salad plate to at least fill the plate. I thought maybe the kitchen was just running out of ingredients, but I read the reviews here and looked at pictures, and the pictures in the reviews showed plates as empty as mine. I’m new to Portland, and I just don’t get it. Folks, wake up.

I like this place. Food is good, pastries are good, the folks are nice. Good neighborhood coffee shop. Avocado toast is a great snack to offer. It is really kid friendly, which is either good or bad depending on who you are. Kids are noisy.

If you’re looking for a small neighborhood coffee shop and bakery, you’ll find a good one at Posies. It’s got this total«Main Street, USA» vibe that seems to fit the Kenton neighborhood perfectly. They serve Ristretto coffee, which is always a good sign. Oh, and it turns out they bake up some good treats, too! Let me tell you what $ 3.50 gets you at Posie’s Bakery. a gorgeous looking danish that they somehow filled with not just peach, but also mango, orange and cream cheese. To say that it was topped liberally with powdered sugar would be an understatement. Also an understatement? Any way in which I could describe just how effing delicious this pasty proved to be! Absolutely top notch. Coming here to work, I was pleased with how easy it was to find a table with an accessible outlet. Also, while the place was consistently steady, I never felt like it was so busy that I was overstaying my welcome. I have to say everything about this place was pleasant. It’s way too far outside of my regular bubble for me to be here all that often, but I’d be glad to come back to Posie’s, anytime.

I went to Posies on a recommendation from my sister(who lives in the area), after she said that they make fresh sandwiches. I’ll start with the positives. Posies has a really nice airy, open-style, ambiance. Also Denver Ave., the street that Poises is located on, is really pretty and has plenty of easy parking. The ingredients that they used were fresh and the presentation was without fault. The reason I gave Posies a 2-star rating is because the first three sandwiches I tried to order apparently contained core ingredients that were«out of stock»… I’m not talking tomato or onion… I’m talking eggplant for the Roasted Eggplant Sandwich, sliced Capocollo for the Italian Cold Cut Sandwich, Havarti cheese for the Three Cheese Grilled Cheese… The kicker is that we arrived around lunch, and there were only 4 – 5 other customers there. It did not seem apparent that they had *just* run out of ingredients because of a busy lunch crowd. It didn’t bother me so much that they were out of certain ingredients. What irked me was that they didn’t take the ingredients down from the menu list; that I had to order three times, and each time I was informed that a key ingredient was«out of stock». The service was really friendly and apologetic for the inconvenience, but my experience was definitely tainted by the unprofessional supply management. Hopefully this was a one-time occurrence, and next time I will leave with a sweeter taste in my mouth!

This is our favorite neighborhood coffee shop – from the looks of it, it’s every 30 – 40 something’s favorite spot too. Every Saturday my husband BEGS for us to go there and split a slice of chocolate zucchini bread while we wait for our breakfast sandwich and avocado toast(add bacon, double egg, tomato, & aardvark sauce) to come out. Great coffee, staff that are hip but not hoity toity. Their lunch/dinner/cake menu also looks pretty awesome; unfortunately we haven’t come for those times. Super cute air plants in reclaimed wood boxes on the walls, & lots of natural light.

Near-perfect setting and service. Unfortunately, the food itself wasn’t great(DRY pumpkin bread and bland veggies). I’d recommend going back when the pulled pork isn’t sold out.

I’ve been going to Posies regularly for about a year, and I just decided to write a review after having read most of the reviews on here. There are many ways to look at reviewing. Some people write reviews based on what they want versus what they got. Some people write reviews based on how well the business delivers what is expected. This review aims to be the latter. The prices: yes, they are a little pricier. That is accurate. Think about some of the better known sandwich places. You pay almost as much and sometimes less at Bunk and you get a lot more sandwich. There’s upscale, and then there’s just plain pricey for what it is, but sometimes there are mitigating factors. The coffee: I have a fairly uncomplicated coffee life, so I haven’t experienced anything unusual here. You either like Ristretto or you don’t. It’s not my favorite for drip, but whatever. It’s certainly a respectable local roaster. The pastries: I’ve never had anything that did not deliver in this department, and frankly their danishes(especially the lemon curd) are 110% worth the calories and the carb rebound. The kids: If you don’t like dining around a lot of kids, then indeed this is not a good place for you. It is often crowded with them. This is the kind of place Posies to wants to be, and on that they seem to deliver. I usually take my order to go. The staff: this is where I believe all of the negative reviews have Posies dead to rights. Chilly service. I’ve been there a lot. I tip well. I was a barista and bonafide cool person for 3 years. I do not get it. The owner claims the high prices are justified to pay you a living wage(something I applaud and support), and yet I still feel like I, the customer, need to apologize and try to cheer you up, because you’re stuck in a crappy service job. This is a neighborhood place, and one of the keys to this format is friendliness and recognition of regular customers. Every other business on the block has friendlier staff(but worse coffee). This is Kenton, not Westover Heights, and Kenton has shown you guys a lot of love. Can you just try to fake some appreciation? You guys could be local icons, instead we just mutually tolerate each other until something better comes along. What a shame.

A great place for a great cup and a smile! Comfortable inside, relaxed atmosphere, delicious coffee… What not to love! I especially like the air plants they’ve hung around the shop… Calm and peaceful to enjoy! Come here for a relaxing moment with a good cup. We will try their food soon as well!
