My son and I were in town for the Sportsmans show and wanted some pizza. Found Finos on Unilocal and it wasn’t. Far drive. Staff was friendly. I have to say that the pizza is some of the best I have ever had!!! We had two slices of pepperoni each. There was an appropriate amount of sauce and it was full of flavor. The pepperoni was good and the cheese was great. The crust was thin, which I like, and crispy. All in all it is absolutely awesome!!! The only reason I gave it 4 starts is because u r limited to what they have on hand if u want pizza by the slice. It’s a bistro, small and quaint, so don’t expect a big restaurant. If you are in Portland and want pizza, don’t go to the mega chain places, GOTOFINOS!!!

Stopped in for a couple slices on our way to a movie. It’s the typical, pies set out in glass case, choose your slice and they slide them back in the oven to warm up. Tasty for sure, not necessarily fresh though the crust was perfect and had just the right crunch. Most notable thing was the woman working the counter. It was a pretty slow looking evening, two people sitting at the bar and no other customers in sight. Staff lady looked at us, scowled and literally turned away and began wiping down what appeared to be an already clean surface. Then she decided to grab some glasses and restock napkins before obviously begrudgingly coming to the pizza ordering side of the bar. Then she took my friends order for a slice, threw it in the oven ANDWALKEDAWAY to go chat with another employee at the end of the bar. Not business talking… literally just bullshitting with her coworker… leaving me standing there like um… hello? What about MY order? About 5 minutes later(after a few more scowls) she came back over and asked what I wanted. Pizza was pretty good but I haven’t been back because of the shitty attitude of the staff.

Savory, rich and carby bread balls called garlic knots. Get them. Dip them in the hot marinara and enjoy the gentle crisp as you bite down and the garlic butter mingles with the red sauce as it drips enticingly down your chin… How could you go wrong, really? Grab a long, seductive slice of Avenue P, with mozzarella, prosciutto, red onion, roasted red peppers, and fresh arugula for that peppery bite. That strong yet fine crust gently holds all of the toppings gracefully together until they reach your mouth. Unf. Pizza. The large pizza, with a diameter of 18″, along with one order of knots bested the eating power of my ill boyfriend and myself, and we only ended up eating about half. I had made the order for take out and it was hot and ready in 30 minutes, as promised. This review reads like a pizza porn. Oh well.

We have been coming to Fino for years and it is good thing we live in SE Portland or we would be over there probably way too much and weigh 50lbs more. We are moving to Phoenix and this place will be missed for sure. I am a New York transplant and finding good east coast pizza is hard to do but Fino pretty much nails it with some west cost flair added aka the corn meal on the bottom of the crust. I won’t hold that totally against them but still a fantastic pizza. We really haven’t found anything on the menu that we didn’t liked. The rabbit is some of the best I have ever had. If i can part one last request bring the eggplant parm and the green stuff you used to bring out with the bread. I missed those way too much :) just like we are going to miss this little place with big time food/flavors and the best pizza in Portland. Best wishes and good luck Fino!

So I’m downgrading my review. I’ll get takeout, but I won’t eat in. They have some of the slowest service. Even for takeout, give them more time than they say they’ll need.

We had the pizza and the rustico, both were great. Service was very good. This place is great.

Pizza was great but the rabbit Omg way over done on the herbs. All I tasted was the herbs. So much was added almost as to mask the taste of old meat or something. No way that was intentional. I hope. I took 3 bites and left it. I’ve eaten a lot of great and horrible food. This dish hands down won the worst. DONOTGETTHERABBIT!

It’s really rare to find a pizza place that also excels at pasta. The marinara with meatballs is the best I have ever had; tangy, full flavor and the meatballs aren’t dry. The HH is awesome too, $ 1012″ personal pepperoni pizza is perfect for my boyfriend and I to share with a salad and some drinks.

Pros: we can walk to an Italian restaurant. The only restaurant with decent food in downtown Kenton! Cons: new owners took eggplant parmigiana off the menu!!! The best sandwich for miles that one doesn’t have to travel to the east coast to eat!!! SADSADSAD Husband loves the spaghetti with Italian sausage New fangled menu with Frou Frou dishes like rabbit fennel etc etc don’t hold up. But the basic down home Italian is worth going there. PLEASEBRINGBACKTHEEGGPLANTPARMIGIANA Conpiacere!!! 4 stars for the great pizza 4 stars for the basic Italian food 3 stars for other dinner items

Alrighty… so I love this place. Best pizza I’ve ever had in my life! So flavorful and tastey!!! We got the Marguerite pizza. Best choice ever. The service we received was beyond hospitable! Prices are standard… but definitely worth every penny you spend! Can’t wait to go back.

Five stars for the pizza, which is absolutely perfect. I’ve tried some of the pasta dishes here, and they all had their own merits, but it’s the pizza that makes me come back any time I’m in the neighborhood.

We walked out of the dining room after fruitlessly waiting 5 minutes for someone to seat us and decided to just grab slices and sit in the front. Apparently service isn’t Fino’s priority… Same treatment out front. We were only in this establishment for 10 minutes but NOONE ever acknowledged our existence! We will not be returning.

Was staying in Vancouver Washington and looking for an Italian restaurant. Only choice was the Olive Garden and that was out. This place got decent reviews so I figured what the heck I’ll make the 8 mile drive. The neighborhood was older and somewhat Shady looking. Upon entering there is a small bar area where pizza is served though I didn’t try the pie I have to say it looked good. I walked to the back where the restaurant was. Waitress was friendly and offered up a great beer on my taste, I also explained I was looking for something healthy and she recommended the vegetable Lasagna. I tell you what, I was not disappointed as it was the best I’ve had the gravy had a great flavor not acidic or bland just perfect and loaded with fresh veggies. De F-ing lishes. Why four not five stars you asked? The cookie for dessert though was good it had a funky burned butter taste. Ice cream and house salad were both good. Please enjoy

Stopped by for a meal while I’m Portland. It is in the Kenton neighborhood of the city. They have a simple yet substantial menu for food and drinks. The food was excellent! I had the Ceaser said and potato leek soup very tasty. They have local beers and also a full bar. I had a Jamieson’s and tonic with my meal. All very good and the service was cordial and prompt. I’ll visit again when in Portland.

I love this place’s pizza. The ambiance is even enjoyable, I can kick it here and comfortably drink a beer while I wait for my pizza to be done. But here in lies the problem. Even calling ahead, waiting for a pie to be done takes excruciatingly long. The service here has repeatedly been lacking. My most recent visit I spent about 5 full minutes standing at the counter before anybody acknowledged my existence… I was there for an order pick up that I could see sitting waiting for me. In and out deal, real quick and easy like. Great pie. Mediocre at best service. Don’t come here when you’re in a hurry.

I tried the vegan, gluten free pizza with anchovies, caramelized onion, and artichoke hearts. Unfortunately, the anchovies completely overpowered the flavors, so i can’t comment on the taste. The texture of the crust was good, if you like thin crust. I was disappointed that the cashier that helped me was very rude. My friend that took me here loves this place, so I would be willing to go again and try different toppings.

Coming from Connecticut, I’m picky as hell. This place NAILS it. Kind of a hybrid between Neapolitan style and NY style, the latter being slightly thicker and more bready. Very flavorful sauce more acidic than sweet, which is good(a hint more would have been OK). Quality cheese. Solid crust. I ordered Pancetta and garlic. Garlic is always a risk even if you are in the Northeast. It needs to be fresh and crushed. The stuff in the jar doesn’t cut it. Nor does roasted or caramelized. The goal is to get that magnificent garlic burn. This is the only place I’ve ever tried in town that does it right. Extremely pleased. The one thing they do that I don’t like is use corn meal to keep the pie from sticking to the oven. That’s more of a west coast thing. I prefer the use of flour, which is a better tool for the job. I might check to see if they would do a pie that way instead just to see how it wold be. It would probably be incredible. I put this place right up there with Escape from NY and Scholls. That’s high praise. Update: Nope, they can’t do the flour because of the gluten free weenies. Sigh.

Stopped in after a long day at work, and was very satisfied with what I received. I ordered a slice of the pepperoni and cheese pizza, and an RPM by Boneyard. The bartenders were great, gave me my space, but made it a point to check in on me. They were both very friendly, and fast with their service. I’ll definitely be back to check out the restaurant in the back.

The younger(but better) brother of Bella Facia on Alberta, Pizza Fino is legit and delish(legish?). The pizza is spot on(like Bella), the garlic knots are so freakin’ worth the eventual coronary, and the pasta… mmm, the pasta. Worth noting: this place has great ambiance. Swanky, candle-lit, and casual. Perfect for a nice date or a quiet, relaxing dinner out. Go here, get some white linen class, a few glasses of vino, and a belly full of noodles, cheese, and dough.

With my kiddo in the hospital on this side of town, I get the opportunity to consume food from not my neighborhood. Even if I dont have much of an appetite I might as well go for it, right? Tonight I had a chauffeur. First we attempted another restaurant that was bookmarked by me to try. Foiled. Closed. I looked on that restaurant’s Unilocal page and down on the right you can look at «restaurants nearby». Up came Pizza Fino. Cool. At ten to 6 on a Friday night the place was full of families and twenty nothing couples sharing wine and the remnants of happy hour.(ends at 6) We selected hero’s($ 10 chicken parm for my driver, $ 9 eggplant for me). They come with soup or house salad. For $ 1 we upgraded to side Caesars. For an additional charge you can add caramelized onions and/or roasted peppers. My driver added both to his, I added peppers. The salads and sandwiches were tasty. Mine could have used a touch more eggplant but overall good. We shared a mixed berry crisp with housemade vanilla gelato. It took FOREVER(ok I exaggerate) to arrive. As did my iced tea refill(my dining companions showed up quickly). I would give the food here a four. They have a nice menu too, with all kinds of pizza, pasta, risotto, calzones, elk meatloaf, etc. Big big wine list. And theyre passionate about helping guests choose their wine too. Decent dessert menu. So why the three stars? 1. The service was a little annoying. We were seated in the long wall banquette at a two top between another couple and a couple families of four on the other side. Every time the admittedly nice and friendly but big and tall servers came to explain wine or food to the other tables they would wedge themselves between the tables to talk to them. Friendly right? Unless you’re my dining companion who consistently had one or two big male butts almost in his face. He found that really uncomfortable. He’s not a fan of that. 2. The water lady liked to refill our water frequently which is good, but across our plates dripping water everywhere and saying«oopsie» which is not good, leaving splashes of water on our table and not wiping it up. 3. The music was too loud. There were a lot of hard surfaces with no fabric panels to absorb the noise a bit. It made conversation(well the intruding butts didnt help) difficult. I think I would go back to try pizza but maybe sit at the bar up front or outside on their patio if its nice. Less chance of butt issues.
