Coming back from the beach my friends and I got excited to eat some hot dogs! My friend got one hot dog and then they were sold out. I tried to get some cheesy tots but their deep fryer was broken. I asked what different types of dogs I could get and they had a little area of cut up onions and tomatoes that were sitting in the sun that they told us we could put on ourself. It would be cool if a hot dog truck had themed dogs or maybe a chili dog and for several dollars maybe they could put the toppings on fresh for me. My friends dog was lukewarm but after a day at the beach we would eat anything!

It is good to see some carts back in this spot. What with all the cart pods that are closing due to the fact that Portland wants to look like every other city, it is good to see one pop up. I’m sure somebody is already planning the next sterile condo building for this spot. Port Dawgs is a good addition to the neighborhood. There was not much in the way of hot dog happiness in this part of town. You can get a good, solid and inexpensive meal here. A Zenner’s dog of some variety(all beef dog, Polish sausage, Italian sausage) plus chips and a drink for $ 5-$ 8. Or you can order them ala cart for $ 4-$ 6. I had the Polish sausage and it was very good. They supply onions, kraut and relish along with a variety of mustards and other condiments that you can use. You can opt out of the side of chips and upgrade to tots or onion rings for $ 2.50-$ 3.50. Might have to go this route the next time. I believe they now are able to sell beer as of July 1. The only thing I would suggest is that they offer better sodas. They currently sell the high fructose corn syrup sodas. Up your prices by $ 1 for your combo meals and offer up a sugar cane soda like Blue Sky or Hanson’s. People around here would have no problem with that.

I don’t think I’d eaten a hotdog for a few years but I kept walking by this place and today I finally succumbed to the smell of their polish sausage. It set me back $ 4 and was worth every penny. They’ve also got beer, tots, and onion rings.

The polish sausage and onion rings were awesome! Port Dawgs has amazing customer service and great food at very reasonable price. It’s a great location with an awesome atmosphere to just hang out and eat with friends and family.

If you are looking for a place to do some double fisting, deep throating, with some hot dogs on the cheap with quality wiener than look no further. Good dogs and not far away is some cheap beer to round out the night. Other carts in the area for those who want something else.

Decent dawg. Plenty of condiments for the dawgs. But those tater tots. Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. I need to go back and try the Italian dawg. Did I mention those tater tots?

The Italian Sausage is to die for. Zenners sausage, marinara, and cheese on toasted garlic bread. Yum!!!
