Haven’t had these kinds of empanadas since I moved from Montevideo. Very good!

Fantastic. Ran across this cart while wandering the Portland Saturday Market today, and very glad I did. Shared a couple of spinach and feta empanadas with my one-year-old daughter, who seemed to like them as much as I did.

When I heard about PDX Empanadas, I got really excited. Empanadas are one of my favorite foods and I hadn’t eaten good empanadas since my last visit to South America a few years ago. Unfortunately, these weren’t good empanadas. They were bland, flavorless, and much too expensive. I ordered two beef and one chicken. The beef were not pre-cooked, so I had to wait 15 – 20 minutes while she baked them. After my first bite, I knew that I regretted my lunch choice. The empanadas had way too thick of crust and not enough seasonings. I wish I could at least say that they try to put quantity over quality, but at $ 4 per empanada, I was expecting something much more substantial. Overall, this food cart was a disappointment and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Never had empanadas before, but after this one other variety is going to have high standards to meet. Beef was juicy and crust was flaky, it was nice appetizer and easy to walk ‘eat. For cost portion seemed bit on small side, even with two at $ 8 some would have hard time getting full.

I had read some good reviews for PDX Empanadas’ empanadas and wanted to try them. Being from Argentina, I have eaten a lot of empanadas in my life and thees are up there with the best. I like that they are baked and not fried, and that the dough is flaky. The empanada’s filling is really tasty. Some of the empanadas are traditional: beef, beef and raisins, corn(Humita), chicken and some empanadas are more innovative. I stuck with the traditional for my first tasting, chicken, beef and spinach. All of them have lots of flavor and they are not too greasy nor dry, but just right. They have 4 or 5 flavors of empanadas ready to serve that they keep warm, or you can pick your own flavors and wait 10 to 15 minutes for them to be cooked. I will go get some more when I am in town in the middle of the day, or maybe I will have to go visit them at the Saturday Market.

My boyfriend and I were craving empanadas after spending 3 weeks in Chile and they hit the spot! They were really delicious, the vendor selling them at the Saturday Market was so sweet. There was a problem where somehow they overcharged me, and that same day they dealt with it before I had even looked at my bank statement. They are so kind and sell delicious empanadas! LOVEIT.

These empanadas are so good. Two or three make the perfect lunch and one is a great snack. They use natural ingredients too. Very highly recommended.
