I’m a grumpy old grandfather … and even I love this store! The people are friendly and helpful, and they have all kinds of fun stuff. Last week, I found some small items for Christmas (Sorry, but the big day is coming up fast). My wife didn’t find what she was looking for, so a store employee phoned another toy store for us. Now that’s service!

Found some unique gifts for my kids. Employee was really kind and helpful! Offered gift wrap. We will have to visit again when we are in town

This was COULD have been a 5-​Star review if the customer service were better. They do have a super selection of toys and games, but the owner is a bit cold and not great on following through on a sale.
I saw a product I wanted on Saturday. I went back in on Sunday to inquire about a special order on this product that costs $ 140. I followed up on Monday late afternoon because I really wanted to order it from them. I was told the owner would get back to me on Tuesday. Folks, it’s Thursday. When you have a product/​service business it is important to be on your game.
I will say, that the employee was very friendly and helpful.

This is a great store with a wonderful selection and friendly staff. My niece loved the gifts that their staff helped me choose.

Oodles is in my neighbourhood and I have shopped there regularly since it opened, both for my own child and for gifts for the many birthday parties that come up when you have a kiddo in elementary school. Carolyn is very knowledgeable about her inventory, thoughtfully hand picking it all for her shop. She has a large selection of educational, art, and science based «toys» (which is what my little girl is in to) and her prices are competitive. She even has LEGO.
I love not having to shop BIG BOX.

Had some very cool toys and they are extremely helpful. She tried to find a toy for my son, but he wasn’t ready for a lot of their toys. I will definitely be back at some point.

Super cute, super fun! The gift wrapping is amazing. The owner is really helpful and I had a great time with my grandson. The location is perfect and you will find hip and unique gifts you won’t find in the big box stores. The gift wrapping was adorable and the owner was very helpful in everyway. This is the perfect place to shop for toys and to bring children for an outing.

I get so excited when another awesome small business opens up in Sellwood that I do a little dance. And I’m not exaggerating. I dance and this store made me dance.
Great selection for kids of all ages, which is refreshing. Most toy stores seem to cater to either a younger or an older crowd, but rarely do you get a great combination of both.
The staff is super helpful and friendly and the space is calm and filled with fun things to get your kiddos busy while you shop.
The store’s owner is very generous with the local neighborhood schools and is often assisting in fundraisers. I so appreciate a local business that not only offers a great product but values the community that keeps them in business.

Great selection for infants, toddlers, and small children! The owner also let us know about the awards the toy we had chosen won, which showed us that she is knowledgeable about her inventory and stocks quality products.

What a great little store. This is our go-​to store for birthday parties. I like that we can buy local and that they have gifts you won’t find at Target. They also include gift wrapping with is awesome! I would highly recommend this store.

Being the young family Mecca that Sellwood is, opening a toy store here is a no-​brainer (especially now that Spielworks has departed)…and Carolyn hasn’t fumbled the ball here. Oodles offers a great selections of toys, games and books, all within a wide price range. A large portion of the products are made from environmentally-​friendly materials. The space is well-​lit, intimate and inviting. The free gift wrapping is a godsend, and Carolyn is always quick with a suggestion (though the store is fairly new, it’s evident that she did her research before opening and continues to keep up on the toy trends). I should know: with two young children, it seems as if I’m traipsing there on a bi-​weekly basis for this birthday or that.

Oodles opened in September, but I noticed the signs for a new toy store coming to Sellwood (something lacking and severely needed here) much earlier in the summer. I walked by almost every day waiting in anticipation for it to open. I was there on the first day! Since opening day, I have spent a lot of time in Oodles. I’ve become friends with the owner Carolyn. I see my fellow Sellwood parents there all the time. And my children believe that Oodles in their own personal toy store. We are not above spending 2 hours there — me chatting with Carolyn or the parents I see who I know, and the girls playing with everything they see. It has now moved to the top of the list of our favorite places to hang out in Sellwood.
Some details for those of you who have never been here before:
1. There is a great selection and a wide range of prices. You can find marbles for 25 cents, trinkets for $ 1, games, toys, art supplies and books for $ 10 or less, or really beautiful, high end, wood toys and the like. You can find something inexpensive for all those birthday parties your children are constantly invited to, or something really beautiful and special for your child’s special occasion. Everything is thoughtfully selected though, so you won’t find cheap crap that will break the next day after you buy it.
2. Carolyn is great about exchanges and returns. If you put your name in her customer database, she will keep track of all your purchases, so you don’t have to keep your receipt to make returns or exchanges. I can’t tell you how many times I have bought something, then my daughters showed me something they wanted instead and I went back & exchanged it.
3. My daughter’s birthday was yesterday, and we went and made a gift registry for her at Oodles. She got exactly what she wanted for her birthday because most of her friends shopped for her there. It made it easy for them since most of her friends go to our neighborhood school and live here in Sellwood. So they popped over to Oodles and got her something, instead of having to drive to one of the outlying malls or Target.
Now all we need is a pharmacy/​drug store and I will NEVER have to leave Sellwood to do anything! Love it :)

Love this shop! It’s a level of customer service and quality you will never find at a larger store. The owner seems to put thought into every toy they carry and their prices are very reasonable. After they help you find the prefect gift they wrap it for you too! I did all of my kid centered Christmas shopping here, and I’d do it again.
