We enjoyed our Friday happy hour here before heading out for dinner. The house cut french fries were excellent and they were on par and even better than«top places» in Portland. The bartender/owner(?) was very friendly and helpful. Very colorful clientele and décor… Good classic rock without skull numbing extremes :)

Super chill spot, decent food for a bar, and good drinks. Bartender is cool and pretty attentive unless it is packed which is understandable. All in all a good place to go if you are looking for some food and drinks with a relaxed environment.

I liked that they played David Bowie and Michael Jackson. I liked that they served ginger beer, for my friend who wasn’t drinking. I liked the yummy bar menu. I liked the location(near plenty of other bars to walk to and from) and free street parking. If you are in the neighborhood and want a dive bar that plays 80’s hits and serves a good assortment of imported beers, this is somewhere you want to stop in and hang out at for a minute, if not longer.

The façade is done up to look just like The Doors’ iconic cover to the album of the same name. It’s a dive bar, but a decent one. The seats a comfortable, the drink selection is varied and solid, and the food we tried was tasty. I was a big Doors fan as a teen, so I enjoyed the band-related décor. As if the mood wasn’t set enough, the entire L.A. Woman album was played on the speakers when we arrived before switching over to Foo Fighters and other music. In kind of an odd twist, Morrison’s is also Red Sox bar, and Boston sports in general, so banners, pictures and posters of things like Larry Bird next to Jim Morrison or a Celtics hat sitting on the head of a mounted deer. But again, that’s all right by me, I’m a Boston sports fan! I mean seriously, they were only Tom Brady tending bar in a Luke Skywalker costume away from being the most tailor-made place ever for yours truly. While there, the place slowly filled with your average joe, middle class whities. Sure there was a barfly or two, but there were also young and well-to-do couples, co-workers meeting up, and uptight older folks who appeared dubious upon entering, but who relaxed soon enough. Solid beer selection. Loved the Buffalo Cauliflower!

Just a bar, a sports bar with loud tv’s. I like a greyhound with fresh juice, if a bar doesn’t make fresh juice it’s just not for me. Bars and drinks are getting better around town, I can be choosy and not really have to pay high prices for better drinks either. If you like sports bars and run of the mill drinks then you might like it. Just not my thing.

Went on a hot Portland late afternoon during a heat wave. While the happy hour was ok, we had two amazing burgers here. The food was pretty damned good. Just burgers and fries but good. We were very happy with our dinner to be sure. Tuesday $ 2PBR night seems like it is a good deal. We mentioned the Check in Offer from Unilocal but didn’t get it. Other than this I really liked this bar a lot.

I just went there for lunch and was thoroughly impressed. We had the Mac & Cheese(with roasted garlic and sun dried tomatoes) and the Cheesy Pig Fries(fries with pulled pork… yum!). TODIEFOR!!! The fries were easily enough for two people to share for a meal but I got excited when I saw the mac special written up on the wall. Both of us ate and took home quite a bit. I was surprised that we were the only ones in the place during the lunch hour. I will surely be back. My one minor complaint was that the music was so loud we couldn’t talk and had to ask to have it turned down, which was done without any grumbling like some places can do. All around, very good!

Bad experience here a few nights ago. The bartender, not the owner Chris, was volatile. He drank whiskey behind the bar and made customers feel like shit. I’m not going to mention some of the other activities he was indulging in. Chris was off that night. Eventually everyone left, some calling him an «asshole» upon departure. Anyway, he was. I won’t be back.

The MoHo is my place. Chris, the owner, is everything you want a bartender to be. Tuesday is $ 2 Tuesday for well drinks and PBR bottles. Pool, darts, pinball. The music is always on point. Awesome beer selection and the BEST food always.

HORRIBLE service. I opened a tab for fries and 2 beers that my wife and I shared. When I closed out my card was gone. The imbecile bartender gave my card to the wrong person and made me feel like it was my fault. No apology or admitting to his mistake. Morrison Hotel demonstrated an all time low for Portland’s service industry.

We have driven by this place hundreds of times and never even gave it a look… What a shame! I found out about it when I was looking for a bar that was into the Boston Red Sox! This is THE place… Chris, the owner, is fantastic and is all about Boston and Boston sports… The service is great but the food is even better! Yep… even better. The beer choices are good and the drinks he makes are wonderful! This is a MUSTTRY!

There’s a new chef in town… he hails from the dirty south and done flipped the menu upside down. Not just the menu got a face lift, several of the ingredients have been upgraded as well. The new burger is bomb, and the owner told me they are using a new grade of beef. Shoestring onion rings and a big juicy slice of tomato on top made it perfect. The teriyaki meatballs were pretty good, but the cauliflower«wings» are amazing! I discovered I prefer these over the real thing, quite surprisingly so since I am a carnivore. Oh and I can’t forget about Mac’s favorite girly drink from the new menu, the Rose City Sidecar! Yum!

Nice aviation martini from one of the bartenders. place is very low key especially at 7pm. things get busy once the other places close up around them we were told. Good because it’s got a nice downhome feel to it. no pretense but dang he made us a great martini anyway! I couldn’t find any doors at this place either, which was… strange.

Pool table — CHECK A lot of beer — CHECK That is all I require :) The ambiance is like a sports bar minus the screaming sports fans. They have many kinds of beers and the bartender was very kind and was great at recommending beers to my fiancé and I. The beer was reasonably priced as well! I’ll definitely be back to put more money in the jukebox and blue marks on their pool balls.

I forgot how much I like this place. After walking in and out of 3 bars in this part of town due to overcrowding or not feeling like we belonged, we walked on over to the Morrison Hotel. Grabbed a seat at the bar and had a few drinks. Nothing less, nothing more. Friendly service. Was able to get a seat at the bar. Good beer selection. What more could you want out of a place?

This is a great place(and I don’t say that just because I live right above it). The Morrison hotel sports a really good menu of bar grub, especially good fries(hand cut), and a killer happy hour that runs all day Sunday and Monday. Chris, who is the owner, really gets it — customer service, ambience, and good drinks. If you haven’t been here, try it — you’ll like it.
