Gold Star Restaurant

This is a review from a regular, non-​restaurant-​owning person, so keep this in mind.
Gold Star is a restaurant supply /​service shop that’s been around forever. The people there are on the surly side of friendly, but friendly none the less.
This means that if you used to work in the business, and you need something that Macy’s doesn’t carry, this is the place for you. They don’t sell pretty Laurelhurst Mansion style cookware, but the stuff they sell is beefy industrial stuff. It will certainly stand up to some heavy use, unlike just about anything you get at Freds.
The other handy thing here is that they can order you the stranger restaurant items that people don’t really think about. Plastic storage containers, buckets, steam trays, giant coffee makers; all those things that you would normally order from a distributer like Cisco.
There are a few of these places around town, and this one has the benefit of being in the South East, and on a bike route. Also I really like the people that work here. They really know their stuff.
