I was given a quote of $ 3,300 from another company, who also charged me an additional $ 85 for the quote. Thank goodness I saw the sticker on my furnace for Midway Heating Company — who’d serviced it years before, because they gave me a free quote and charged me $ 500 less. They offered to fix the furnace for $ 600 but it was 30+ years old and high time it was replaced. Better now, when the air-​conditioning quit working, than in the winter when the heat would go kaput.
Because of the unusually hot weather, they were swamped and could not come out for 3 weeks, but when they did, they did a fantastic job. In fact, they got the job done 3 days early and made arrangements to do so with my tenant — unbeknownst to me.
Before making a large purchase like this, always get quotes. The $ 585 less that Midway is a lot of money to save!
