Made an appointment here eight weeks in advance. Came in with my fiancé, and had to ask to sit down. The salesperson was nice but very inexperienced, and had only been there a matter of a couple of weeks. We were shown a number of rings, and were told the ring my fiancé wanted to see was«on loan» to someone else to try out, and that if we gave our name we could ask to be notified. We wanted to discuss custom design, and were told the person who was the custom design person was not in the store, and that we would need to schedule a time to come back. We wanted to get a conflict free diamond, and were interest in lab created diamonds. Lab created diamonds, we found out, are just as expensive as mined diamonds. We went to another jeweler who had the correct design, and had the ring set in two days. Maybe this was an «off» day for them, but I was very unimpressed.

My husband and I went in to look at possibilities for a 10-year anniversary ring. Fabulously beautiful jewelry and amazingly nice and knowledgeable representatives. You will absolutely not regret going in to the showroom. They make each ring to order, none of that buying-this-ring-and-having-it-sized stuff. This means that your ring is just that — yours, unique. Check out their website for info on the company and what they have to offer. However, while lovely on the website, the jewelry is truly gorgeous in person.

3.5 stars… Long story short: I bought my now fiancé’s engagement ring sans stone(the Tory design in platinum) here and she absolutely loves it. Short story long: My fiancé loves vintage rings, especially particular designs of the Edwardian style(prevalent around 1901 – 1910). The problem with this is rather complex. Not just any Edwardian style was something she was drawn to. Finding the right ring in her size that was made of platinum(the strongest, most scratch resistant, and most care free and beautiful of all the metals) was hard enough. Adding to that, almost all vintage engagement rings already come with the diamond and getting the right ring with a stone that wasn’t too small, too large, too poor of a quality, at the right price was literally impossible. In searching for jewelers who regularly make or can custom make vintage inspired rings became a challenge because I knew what type of style I was after and it wasn’t easy to find let alone in platinum. At this point I had researched the hell out of diamonds and had purchased a loose diamond in the diamond district that was nearly perfect at an unbeatable price so I needed a jeweler who could provide a ring without the stone and hopefully be able to set my stone in their setting as well. It all came together perfectly when I somehow found the Tory ring at MiaDonna, a Portland based company mostly known for their factory made diamonds. Luckily they sell their rings without the stones and in just about any material you could hope for. As I mentioned my now fiancé absolutely loves the ring, everyone always comments on how unique it is and how much it fits her style perfectly. There are just a few minor comments I have about Mia Donna on why I prefaced the review with«3.5 stars». If you’re going the same route by provided your own diamond and the stone isn’t EXACTLY the size of the stone size the ring was originally designed for then the ring falls under the«custom» category. This not only negates their otherwise reasonable return policy but tacks on a very hefty custom charge. This applies even if your stone is the same shape and even slightly different in size and is regardless to the fact that all rings are made to order. The prices of their rings are very reasonable but once I needed to pay for the custom fee the ring no longer appraised for what I paid for it but much less. In speaking with their customer service department via live chat and email the responses I got, despite getting very quick responses, were full of copy and paste type responses and they weren’t willing to budge on the prices at all. They were able to set my stone in their ring(of course I had to pay to insure and ship the stone to them). They continued to update me on the progress and the turn around time was very reasonable. Once I received the ring I never heard back from them checking in. A little more personal customer service from such a unique and specialized small business would have been nice. The ring came in a nice(but overly chunky in my opinion) box along with all the necessary paperwork. I’m insanely detail orientated to the point where I notice minute details most people would miss so with that in mind I did see variations of the ring that weren’t exactly the same as what was shown on their website so I can’t say I was 100% satisfied. That being said I am aware every ring is made to order and the differences really weren’t something any normal person would be able to point out, even if they had the two rings side by side so I was still very happy with the ring. As a side note on engagement rings, I did a crazy amount of research and if you want to save yourself a lot of time I would highly recommend getting a nice custom ring box from Etsy, get your ring appraised(if you’re in the NYC area) at GAL(Gemological Appraisal Laboratory of America) and to insure your ring through Jewelers Mutual regardless of where you live. Also if you’re looking for an old fashioned loose natural diamond rather than one of MiaDonna’s eco friendly options and don’t have any hook ups in the diamond district, check out the diamonds at James Allen and BlueNile online as they have the biggest selections at fair market prices with very detailed and easy to use searches. Oh and congratulations on your engagement!

Not only are the rings and diamonds gorgeous, the personal shoppers, Jaime and Linley, were amazing in caring for our order. I’d highly recommend MiaDonna and dealing directly with the associates at the Portland locations.

We had such an easy and rewarding experience ordering my engagement ring from MiaDonna. After playing around with the design feature, I fell in love with the vintage look of the Amore setting and with a lab emerald in the center. If you’re going to do an engagement ring(or wedding band), there really are a ton of options but few legit and affordable eco-friendly companies. MiaDonna was the whole package: solid mission of helping to bring awareness to and repair the damage done by the diamond mining industry; a HUGE array of beautiful designs, and affordable pricing. The unexpected 4th plus to choosing MiaDonna was the supreme level of personal customer service I received from Jaime as soon as the order was placed. She was super encouraging with my ring choice and made sure it arrived exactly where it was supposed to, ahead of schedule, the day before Thanksgiving. She helped round out the experience in a really special way and made me feel like she had all the time in the world for my questions! The ring itself is such a treasure and I’m so proud to wear it.

I ordered a lab created sapphire in the butterfly setting. My wife loves it, particularly because it was designed by me(sort of). Jaime gave super personalized service and I recommend dealing with her directly rather than just ordering online. The ring is beautiful and was a very good value. The company is highly recommended.

I purchased the Sandra three stone engagement ring from MiaDonna, and couldn’t be any happier with the outcome. Not only does my fiancé love how eye catching it it, but I get to feel proud whenever she gets compliments out of the blue from strangers on it. Being able to find an amazing(and«chunky» as she describes it) ring for far less than what a major company would charge was incredible. The added bonus of being able to proudly say the ring is conflict free is especially important for her since she has spent time overseas and personally witnessed the struggles children go through to profit others. With the existence of this company, I don’t know why anybody would ever look anywhere else.

Terrible doing business with them. Poor quality jewelry, only had it for two weeks and they wouldn’t give me a full refund. Now I get to live with the fact that I don’t have the ring that my fiancé proposed with. Unfortunate, because I really liked their mission. Too bad it’s bogus. DONOTBEFOOLED. If you want to spend 1,000 on a ring that will last two weeks, then have at it! So upset that I fell for this.
