Went here for dinner. Loved this place. The venison is the best I’ve had. And the beet salad and roasted brussel sprouts are excellent as well. Their resident mixologist makes a Manhattan on the rock(one large ice cube) that is the best in Portland. Service was good as well. Highly recommended.

I stopped in here for happy hour on a Thursday afternoon. I was in the area on my own and was looking for a more quiet place that I could grab a bite and a drink as well as read my book. Some other places in the area are a bit too loud and distracting for my taste. Happy hour runs from 5 to 6pm. I literally walked in minutes after 5 and was the only customer in the place. I was really surprised, but it picked up soon after. I started off with a glass of Alamos Malbec. Not too bad. For food I ordered the Roasted Beet Salad and the Butternut Squash Soup. Food came out pretty quick. I started off with the beet salad since the soup was very very hot. This is a must get item if you like beets, and even then according to other it’s still good even if you don’t like beets! The soup was absolutely wonderful as well! But once again, if you like butternut squash then you would enjoy it. Menu items change periodically, so it’s nice to visit from time to time to find out what new delectable item you will find.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. My wife and I have had several romantic dinners here, including celebrating our most recent anniversary in January. I have tried most of the menu and have not had something I didn’t like. The goat cheese ravioli is a signature dish and one of my personal favorites. Very relaxing, quite atmosphere.

Tasty and a great value for lunch with the various small plates. Very quaint cute classy casual atmosphere. Not very crowded for lunch but a nice pleasant vibe to catch up with a friend.

Ah Lucy’s! This pains me as much as you. I still think you’re cool, but my last review gushing may have been a little premature. I came back for lunch to try the goat cheese ravioli. How could I not after all the chatter on here about it? The beet salad was wonderful, actually boyfriend ate half of it and he hates beets, so if we ever find him to have a beet deficiency in his diet, we will bring him back here. The brussel sprouts were still darn good. Boyfriend had the Croque Monsieur with ham, gruyère and morbier cheeses-tasty ham! Ah, but the goat cheese ravioli! Maybe my hopes were too high. But I found it to be a little dried out and not a lot of sauce. Hopefully it was a one off. Our service was decent, a few mistakes with our bill, but nothing major and our server was fairly attentive and had a great attitude. Still a great restaurant and dining experience overall and I’ll definitely keep coming for dinner, dessert and happy hour, but might pass on lunch.

The 4– and 5-star reviews on here do not lie and the recommendations were spot on! We enjoyed a fabulous meal here tonight, start to finish, including unwavering service. I’ll just repeat what others have said to reinforce how good it is: –Goat cheese ravioli small plate(4 large, homemade pasta triangles) were so good we wanted to lick the plate. I regretted having to share. Nicely covered with brown butter sauce, cheese, crispy onions & pancetta. –I order beet salads whenever they appear on any menu, and I have to agree with those who said this is one of the best EVER. –I had the halibut and it tasted as good as it looked on the plate. Maybe I was just in a good mood. Even the olive oil for dipping the bread was better than any other restaurants serve. I highly recommend this place if you want a casually elegant treat.

I’ve been eying Lucy’s Table for a couple years now, and now that I have sat at her table and ate, I can say with confidence we won’t be dining together again. The special, Corvina with stuffed rock shrimp was super dry, the butternut squash with quinoa lacked seasoning, and the pomegranate glazed baby back ribs did fall off the bone, but their flavor did not impress. The arugula salad with goat cheese was delicious. It was the only dish I felt I could not match in my own kitchen.

Yum! What a fabulous meal! Excellent variety of small and large plates. Each dish was perfectly seasoned and stood strongly on their own. The signature goat cheese ravioli was amazing… mouth-wateringly amazing. I also am particularly fond of the roasted brussel sprouts. Honestly, I hated those things as a kid, but these… these were awesome!!! Great service! Our waiter was spot on and so approachable, easy-going. Excellent date-night restaurant! This is a place you can go and easily hear your dining companions and visit in peace. Quiet, elegant, romantic atmosphere. Fresh flowers, window seats with throw pillows… accenting the linen table cloths and glassware on the well-spaced tables.(I LOVE not having to hear the conversations of the diners around me. :) Valet parking is available for $ 4. Decent wine, beer and cocktail menus. They also have a happy hour.

Lucy’s Table is my absolute favorite restaurant in Portland. I am a great big fan of their happy hour. On my yearly trip to Portland, you will find me at Lucy’s ordering the goat cheese ravioli. Tonight, my friend Berg and I arrived right at 5p and grabbed a table by the window. I started with a glass of sparkling house wine($ 4). We each ordered an incredible roasted beet salad($ 4) and had the goat cheese ravioli($ 3). Roasted beet salad = beets, pears, spinach, red onion, feta and apple cider vinaigrette. It is hands down, the BEST beet salad. My friend Berg said the goat cheese ravioli was too good to be true. There is something incredibly delightful about goat cheese ravioli in a brown butter sauce with crispy shallots and pancetta. It is a dish worth raving about. It also makes Lucy’s Table my must go to restaurant.

Amazing service!!! Cute place for a sunny afternoon lunch date! I’ve been here for lunch twice in this cute little restaurant. Ok Ok.so it’s a bit pricey but a taste of Portland’s true family owned restaurant that’s nice and had homemade pasta? I’ll gladly support!!. So keep that in mind! Good service and well defined food(they describe the ingredients quite well) is hard to find. Food type: French, American, Italian mix. Atmosphere: best on a sunny afternoon in Alphabet district with a date. Accompany your food with good wine, cute simple flowers in a wine bottle, and cute relaxing lighting. Great for quiet, private dinner as well. Dress code: casual, relax, fancy, chill, whatever you like… Best dishes: any hand made pasta and their beet salad! Yum Yum! Definitely try the beet salad and the large pasta(hand made) dish. First time at this place, I have passed by it so many times, but hardly noticed it. So glad my special friend found it because we got free sampler of pound cake! We liked the cake so much we asked to buy some and the owner said they were giving them away because they’re doing a trial run and it was not as perfect as they would’ve desired, so they decided to give it out for free. Honesty! That’s hard to find! They said it is not an item that they would sell however, they gave us a very very large piece to go for free since we enjoyed it so much! Second time, ordered burger, which was a mistake, but that’s ok it was good, just not your typical burger filled with tomatoes and lettuce. Dessert was phenomenal though. If you’re hungry, I would not go here because the portion is small. And this is also not a place for you Burger lovers. It’s like going to Phở restaurant and ordering a rice or sushi you know? Quality over quantity definitely!

Portland deal maker attorney William Du Val and I had scheduled on of our regular«lunch conferences», and today we hit Lucy’s Table in the Uptown neighborhood of Portland. Lucy’s has been around awhile, and constantly gets rave reviews, tho often the reviews have to do with the«romantic ambiance» as much as the creative cuisine. Portland is an ultra-casual town, and when one dines out in cut-offs and flip flops, one can probably find«romantic ambiance» at IHOP. I guess. An open room, with a small bar, Lucy’s is well appointed, but at the same time, there is lots of glass, so today, in the bright light, romance eluded me.(smiley face). Lucy’s describes themselves thusly: «Hybrid tastes of Morocco, Spain, Italy, Greece and Asia and freshly prepared with fresh northwest meats and seafood.» And they hit the mark every time. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, and when he didn’t know an answer, he quickly got one from the kitchen. Du Val went with the burger, and pronounced it spectacular. I would have echoed his order, but passed on the burger when I saw these three words: «whole wheat bun.» Nah, not for me. So I went with the French dip, because the menu description included one of my favorite words, «baguette.» It was described as roasted rib-eye with horseradish sauce and jus. It was damned near perfect, tho I would have preferred(and paid for) a double meat portion. The house-made(regular) fries, ala carte, were perfect, and came with a whole grain mustard aioli. I boldly went for the ‘chick pea fries’ because I had never heard of these before, and the server described them as chick pea flour, allowed to set up, cut into strips, and deep-fried. They were accompanied by harissa aioli, which was very interested. I liked these, even tho they have the texture of an extruded potato product, but granted, a lot of people like that. As Mrs. BDB often brings me home treats, it was my turn today, and I took her the Butternut Squash Soup with Truffled Crème Fraiche, and a slice of the flourless chocolate cake. No report on those yet, but I do hear chewing noises from upstairs! I am sure they were both spectacular. I’m eager to return to Lucy’s Table, something I don’t say that often in Portland. But I’ll go at night, when it’s dark, seeking out that romantic ambiance.

I’ve passed by this cute little green restaurant on 21st and Irving about a million times and have always wanted to try it. I would always gaze in at the blissed-out looking couples bending over their plates by warm candlelight and think, «Why can’t my life look like that?» Flash-forward to a year-or-so later and now I was a part of that idyllic scene; a blissed-out couple on date-night enjoying each other’s company in a romantic setting while imbibing red wine. Thank goodness for life’s continual journey. While service was a bit sporadic and at times inattentive, we didn’t let that falter the evening and in fact sort-of welcomed the excuse to sit and linger for a long, drawn-out dinner. Our server could probably sense our easygoing nature and good humor and seemed to loosen-up with our table, making jokes about the severed trout-head puppets they entertained the staff with in the kitchen. I ordered the whole trout, resting on a bed of buttery, lemony, farro and almond risotto with shaved leeks atop. My lovely date ordered an Alaskan salmon fillet with steamed spinach and potatoes. Both large-plate entrees were fabulous, cooked to tenderness and deftly-seasoned. We both consumed every last bite on our plates and were satiated, but not so much as to resist the dessert menu when it was brought around. To finish, we split a flourless chocolate cake accented by cinnamon-nut paste and a drizzle of caramel. This was certainly a perfect way to cap-off a wonderful dining experience.

Disclaimer: Let this be known as the review with the most hyphens used… ever. Date Night at Lucy’s Table did NOT disappoint. We arrived for an early dinner reservation and had a lovely cous-cous amuse-bouche with some kind of fabulous sausage action. Mega-yummy, especially with a couple of glasses of Pinot Gris to start. Then on to apps. He got a(boring) tasty fall salad, which I hyper-salivated over the Best Seared Scallop Ever Cooked For Me. At this point, I was already repeating words like«God» and«heaven.» And I’m an atheist. For entrees, I had the cinnamon-braised half-pheasant and my husband had the Portugese Stew with soft, truffled potatoes. I love pheasant and used to eat it as a kid because my family hunted. That said, my Dad always cooked the birds in beer only, so this was a very NEW kind of angel-pheasant for me. Mmm. So delicious with the bulgar wheat, succulent lardons(yes, small pieces of pork fat — AWESOME), and currants. I actually couldn’t finish it all, no matter how my belly begged me while it rumbled… so very sad. With our meals, we had two glasses of white and two of red, so 4 total. Plus 2 apps and 2 entrees. All together, our bill was about $ 100, with 20% tip. How is that possible? I have no idea, but I didn’t argue. Our waitress was very nice and left us alone, for the most part. I told her I wanted to give the chef a giant hug for that pheasant and my amazing scallop. She politely said, «Well, she’s a young cook and she’ll be glad to hear your comments. I’ll pass them on.» I seriously wanted to hug the chef, though. My man’s Stew is now mentioned on a weekly basis, as in, «How about Portugese Stew for dinner?» and«Not as good as that Portugese Stew.» Clearly, we will be back for more. p. s. As parents of a toddler, I think it’s important to note that we saw a couple and their 4-year-old son at a nearby table. They had arrived before us, so probably around 5:30, for an early dinner. The staff were very attentive to them and their son, which impressed us. We will definitely bring our daughter here in a few years!

This goes down in history as one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Course after course, it just kept getting better. What we had: Started off with a complimentary amuse-bouche of split pea soup with goat cheese. Don’t like goat cheese normally but this was scrumptious. Came on a little soup spoon. Awesome way to get the palate going. For drinks, we had the lavender-infused vodka lemonade. They were extremely tasty and I loved the subtle hint of lavender which was unusual. We also tried an «Orange Flirt» which tasted just like an orange creamsicle popsicle. I liked the lemonade better but it was still awesome. Appetizers/Small Plates: We split the pomegranate ribs which literally fell off the bone. I’ve never had more tender meat in my life. The glaze was just sweet enough without being too much. We also had the caramelized brussel sprouts which were perfection! Just enough sweetness and they were cooked just perfectly. For our main dishes, the husband had risotto with cinnamon pheasant and I had the papardelle with fennel, heirloom tomatoes, roasted red peppers, and peas. I have never had pheasant before but the marinade of cinnamon made it perfect and it tasted like a mix of turkey, chicken, and pork. I loved the risotto — that was my favorite part. of his dish. I loved my pasta — it came in a light cream sauce and the veggies were so fresh. Nothing that you’ll have anywhere else. Then, if that wasn’t enough food, we also had the french toast bread pudding for dessert with cinnamon ice cream. I don’t eat a ton of dessert but definitely appreciated it. The cinnamon ice cream was the best part to me. After all of that, they gave us a complimentary, small piece spice cake which was the best way to end a perfect meal. The place was hopping on a Saturday night but nonetheless had exceptional, personal service.

Lucy’s Table would be the perfect place for a classy, romantic date. It’s definitely not intended to be a trendy or hip place, but rather more quiet and refined. The food is superb and they have a great selection of wines. The ‘small’ plates on the menu were unique with items such as escargot and foie gras. I nearly ordered a bunch of them for my dinner, but ultimately, I took a more conservative route. No regrets though. For an app, I got the Goat Cheese Ravioli with Brown Butter Sauce, Pecorino Romano Cheese, Crispy Shallots & Pancetta. With ingredients like that, there was no way this dish could fail and it didn’t. The ravs were perfectly al dente and goat cheese wasn’t overbearing. Little pillows of cheesy pasta treasure! For my ‘big’ plate, I had the Pork Cheek Cannelloni with Morbier Cheese, Pork Belly, and seared Brussels Sprouts. Probably the richest, porkiest dish I’ve eaten aside from Chinese roast pig. I literally felt the piggyness oozing from my pores later that night. A sinfully delicious dish! My server had the habit of loudly saying«corner» every time she rounded a corner coming to and from the kitchen to the dining room. Since this place is so quiet, I must have heard«corner» about a dozen times during my meal which got a little old I must say. 5-stars based on the food/wine.

My wife and I used to go to Lucy’s Table back when we were dating… so when the opportunity to ditch the kids presented itself last night, we thought…‘what the heck, let’s eat at Lucy’s Table’. We ended up both ordering the special, which was a Bristol Bay Sockeye Salmon. I have no idea where Bristol Bay is, but I can tell you that they have damn good salmon there. Ours was served perfectly cooked on a bed of corn and risotto with an avacado mouse adjacent. When I first saw the portion, I thought that it was a little small, but I was wrong… just right. Lucy’s Table wine list has enough variety on it that allowed for a good choice that hit our mood, and paired well with the food and the balmy weather. The pricing was what you would expect. We both shared the cherry cobbler, which was a great choice and topped nicely with a honey-vanilla dollop of ice cream. The restaurant was about half full, and the ambiance was casual and comfortable. We spoke with the owner a couple of times during our dinner and commented on how nice it felt and how the setting encouraged conversation. A glowing review so far, right? So why only four stars? Our waitress was… er…moody…hot and cold… I don’t know. Whatever she was didn’t compliment everything else at Lucy’s Table. We’d certainly go back, but we’d likely have our fingers crossed that we didn’t get stuck with the same woman who served us last night.

Small intimate setting with a tiny bar up front. The small portions are deceiving: this food is rich! We ordered a plate of goat cheese ravioli with brown butter sauce and each had one. They come in 4, 6, and 8(I think). Foi gras with balsamic cherrie reduction — was as good as it looked! The foi gras was delicious with the acid and croûton, but I would have liked it to be cooked a second longer. Steak– perfectly cooked and juicy with sweet potato fries — highly recommended Halibut special — perfectly cooked but way over priced for the portion. My friend who eats like a bird finished her whole plate which never happens– she even said it was too small. For $ 34 in Portland, you can’t justify an entrée that small — not halibut and potatoes anyway. Bread pudding with maple bacon sauce — mmm mmm good with the salted caramel sauce… the bacon is just sprinkled ontop but I thought it was in the ice cream when I ordered it — can easily be removed. I left full and feeling like I had to order a bunch of food to get full, but I really should have just eaten slower, because these portions are small but really rich — the food should be savored slowly. Oh, the chocolate flourless cake was insanely rich. High grade chocolate and super fudgy. I recommend ordering just one for the table for sharing. I couldn’t eat more than one bite.

As the Mother-In-Law(MIL) was visiting over Mother’s Day, I decided it would be in my best interest to take her and the future MILF out for a nice dinner to celebrate. I mean, it really was the least I could do considering she painted our living room and the monkey boy’s nursery, cleaned the entire house, spent a full day doing yard work and left us with cash to go towards the purchase of a crib. Yeah, good deal and really other then the fact that I had to temporarily relocate the gimp, hide the paraphernalia, limit my beer consumption, utilize the toilet paper roll /dryer sheet technique and sneak outside to imbibe, it was overall a good visit. As Lucy’s Table had been on the restaurant radar for some time I figured it would be the perfect choice, and a good way to impress. Plus it would keep me, the man who stole her baby girl from Minnesota, in the MIL’s good graces. Man, I love it when a plan comes together. The evening started out well enough, as we found a perfect parking spot, which is always challenging in NWPDX and a task which on most nights results in several mumbled«mother fuckers», anxious moments behind the wheel and the swallowing of a fistful of Ativans. But on this night that wasn’t the case, and as we got out of the car our noses were greeted to fabulous smells of culinary goodness wafting from restaurant. As we were promptly shown to our table, I couldn’t help but notice the perfect cross section of Portlanders dinning there that night. You had the prom date there for a fancy dinner, the college professor with his tweed jacket and unkempt hair talking literature with his date, the sophisticated and well dressed couple having martinis, with groups arriving in sweatshirts and jeans, while others were dressed to the nines and ready for a night on the town. This is really one of the things I love best about Portland. Since we were celebrating Mother’s Day, I decided to go all out. I mean, this is the first year that I can say with confidence that I did turn someone into a future mother, so I felt well within my means to take part in the celebration of Moms. I started with a small plate of steamers with red peppers, fennel, lemon broth and chili oil; it was fabulous. Following that up was the pomegranate glazed baby back ribs, which literally fell off the bone. They were accompanied by mascarpone whipped potatoes, manchego cheese, green beans and orange salad. Throw in a couple German style lagers and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect meal. I will definitely be back, although it won’t be to celebrate another MILF in the making.

So should I write a review of a place that I went to after a glorious massage? how can you give a bad review after getting all relaxed and warmed up at the same time. You walk in smiling and the world just seams to treat you better. But I have been here three times. And only one time was after a massage, so I guess my experiences are true and not viewed through rose-colored and massage oil filtered glasses. First time there I dined at a tiny table by the window in the bar area. Very cramped for two people, but we were just getting small plates and appetizers. The food was great, the wine was very nice, and it was nice having the view out the window of the people on the street. It was just hard to manage the few plates we had on the small table. The next two times were in the dining room with a party of three and a party of four. Service, food, wine, etc. was all top notch. The décor, white table cloths, and velvet drapes all lend a hand in transporting you into a separate dining experience. Come to think of it, I haven’t been there in a while. Time to go back the next time I am in Portland. Some of the memorable dishes were: — butternut squash soup — great on a cold night — halibut — ordered for the hell of it :) — Goat Cheese ravioli — Lamb — so tasty I felt guilty eating it I’ve never had room for desert. So no advice there. The wine list is nice. My only complaint is that I would like to see more wines by the glass. I am getting hungry as I write this.
