Kvinneakt

The lady parts which the statue Kvinneakt portrays is nothing to be embarrassed for looking at. For there are sculptures from caveman days which show those parts as a tribute to fertility, and with the effort undertaken and its importance in the world, fertility is something to celebrate. It is indeed a statue of a nude woman, though leaned over and it is placed in front of a Macy’s in Downtown.
I enjoyed seeing the sculpture. That sidewalk is a little busy, but the you know what more than compensates for that. It is a remarkably detailed sculpture and I am glad to live in a country where the fundamentalism is curbed enough to display such a work of art which depicts a work of work, unlike Saudi Arabia.
Celebrate freedom by walking by this sculpture.

This is the statue that helped make Bud Clark mayor of Portland. it seems she was minding her own business when a local tavern owner (Clark) showed up with a photographer from a local paper and took her picture with said tavern owner (pretend) flashing her. Kvinneakt is a nice statue, the finish isn’t polished but rather looks more made in haste.
