Great place. Had a micro brew IPA Ate the salad and pork sliders. They have an electronic board that shows all the beers and how much is left in the keg. Pretty neat.

Food is a 4-star. Happy hour pricing is nice and burgers were good. Fries were good, with a nice dipping sauce. Service needs some work. Took awhile to get help and help wasn’t super great. First place I have been to where knowing the name of the beer wasn’t enough. Had to know the number as well. I never saw Joes parking lot that full, so I will cut them some slack. Will check back in in a few months to see if they worked the kinks out.

We love ABV, and were excited to hear they were opening a restaurant closer to our house. We went on a Friday night with a couple friends — wait time was quoted to us to be 45 minutes. Not a big deal, however half of our dining party(myself included) is pregnant and we were wary of waiting. The hostess saw our trepidation — immediately got us some lemonade and showed us the spacious upstairs waiting area to wait out our table. She even brought us some veggies to tide us over. Above and beyond service. Wait time was pretty accurate. We got a great table. Our waitress was OK, but probably overloaded. The food was what you would expect from ABV — amazing. So excited to have them in Beaverton. Can’t wait for them to get established and work out all the ‘new’ kinks.

Notch or three above your average pub. We have eaten in the bar and the main restaurant, and had the Meat and Cheese Plank, Beer Cheese Soup, and the Pulled Pork Sandwich, all of which were pretty good. The Garden Burger is huge(size). They always have a great selection of beers, wines, ciders, etcetera, which you order by tap number. We like that you can look them all up on your phone, as the two screen locations make them difficult to read unless you walk right up to them. See for current specs, prices, and available quantities on tap. This place has been packed both times we have been here, so expect that you might have to park on or off 45th, and the wait time may be around 30 minutes. They’re great about asking you if you’d like to order a drink when you put your name in for a table, so that’s an option that can make the waiting period a little bit better. Maybe it’s just us, but we’ve been kind of confused when they bring the bill without a payment folder, as to whether we make payment at the table(restaurant) or a register(coffee shop). I guess it saves a little on expenditures to not have them, but it wouldn’t hurt, if even just to keep the bill from being blown off the table. They do pick up your card from the table. No biggie, but I thought I’d just bring it up in case the restaurant reads these reviews.

We went on a Friday night and had a really long wait, which I guess is to be expected. The staff were friendly and apologetic and offered a complimentary appetizer for our inconvenience.(We waited both to be seated and also quite a long time for our food as the kitchen was really backed up, and we had two children with us.) Upstairs waiting area is spacious — could benefit tremendously from having some games available for people to play while waiting. Beers and appetizers can be consumed while waiting so that was helpful. Having to look up the beer list on my phone was a little annoying though. The food was mostly above average. Calamari and roasted brussels sprouts are both delicious. The lamb burger was tasty but a little overpowering with rosemary. IBU salad was completely underwhelming.(The combination of things in it really don’t go together and it was mostly flavorless.) Overall we would recommend it but be prepared for a wait and try to think ahead to bring along something to do if you’re waiting with kids.

In business for a little over 3 weeks this place is already a howling success, apparently resulting in a wait at times. We arrived at 8:45 on a Saturday night so we could be promptly seated although many customers were already there. Our service was prompt and good. There are already plenty of comments about the extensive beer offerings. The waiter helped me choose, which I appreciated. Our Voldostana pizza was perfect. They use a slow rise dough process which results in a very tasty crust. Kevin, the owner, is very hands-on and stopped by for a chat. At his suggestion we had the beignets for dessert and we loved them. To our surprise he comped them for us. Think we’ll return? You bet we will.

Super solid place hence the 4 stars. Lovely beer options and the servers are incredibly accommodating and letting you try many as you choose. Have really enjoyed the food we have had so far– poutine(have dreamt about it), 50⁄50 Burger, and beignets with amazing Rosemary caramel sauce. This is our new go-to for a post children bedtime date; yummy bites and great beers with excellent service!

So far… not good. We waited ten minutes in the overly loud bar area to get waited on. Finally we went and sat in the main restaurant and waited another 10 minutes to get helped. 6 whole tables, I guess they are swamped. Happy Hour is restaurant wide, so bypass the cramped few tables in the bar. Place and food reminds us of the Racoon Lodge, in Raleigh Hills. Def not McMenamins quality, but okay. Big change over the Burger Joint that this replaced but not as good as JOBA. My Happy Hour Bacon Cheeseburger was dang tasty, for that I raised my review from 1 star to 3. This place gave me something free, a huge headache.

The menu and food seems identical to ABV Which is a good thing. The ambience was pretty good, it had more kids around than I would have thought. I wouldn’t have expected to be sat near children as we did not arrive with any and our group was not the type to sit by kids. The beer selection was ok. When I arrived there was only one Belgian on tap and it was $ 11.50 for a 10 oz glass, which is understandable if it was out of a bottle, but not for beer from a keg. It was not a rare beer or special. I understand the convenience of the big TV screens that list your beers. However if you are seated too close or too far away you cannot see them. Asking a customer to pull out their phone and go to the website to check which beers are on tap, is very odd. I am used to getting up to order beer from a bar, and had this been a bar, I would understand. But it was a very family place. I am a bit unsure of the feel they are going for, in this place. Server was nice and made good recommendations on food.

This has potential to be the best SW neighborhood pub: Terrific tap list, great space, good TVs for sports, very good fries, burger and food overall. Good for get together with friend or a night out with kids. We visited 3+x since opening weekend. Service is below par to maintain a successful establishment. Beer expertise of bar staff is great. Service is poor — only because they seem completely overwhelmed. Out tab would have been 2−3x each time had staff been more attentive. Hopefully management will step up and support this great opportunity in SWPDX.

This place was fantastic! Been to ABV in Hillsboro(love it) and wanted to try this place. The environment is much nicer here than ABV — lots more space, nice decoration and had a very good feel. Kid friendly. Desserts were excellent(we tried all 4) and tried many beers and a couple of ciders. Upstairs has a nice space for a private party, even a seperate bar. Nice.

Good selection of beers(~38 taps, including ciders and wine) with a variety of sizes you can order, depending on the tap, from 6oz to 16oz. Inviting and friendly service, I was pretty impressed not only at the server’s knowledge of their menu and beers, but also their proactive approach to any delays or issues with service or orders. The menu is nice and small, and all the items looked good. The Chivito Steak sandwich I had was very, very good. Good spice, nice medley of flavors, and tender meat. The fries are also very flavorful and good. Unfortunately, this place isn’t exactly close-to-home for me. So I probably can’t frequent it, but if it is closer for you, I recommend stopping by.

Same owner as ABV out in Hillsboro, which has awesome food and is always packed full of patrons. Great passion for beer that started with their Homebrew shop. This location is on track for having the same quality, they just have some acclimating to do in the space. Appreciated the friendly staff. Focus on the service component and the food will do the rest! Wish IBU the best and I will definitely be back. –SB

My family went to IBU Public House tonight. We have a 7 and 9 year old and can say that this is a great place for families. They haven’t been open long and the wait was 45 minutes at 5:45 pm on a Saturday. Luckily the upstairs proved a comfortable place to wait with little ones walking around.(If it is a date night, stay in the bar and be free of kids or don’t go at 6pm.) The staff was very friendly. The beer was great with plenty of tastes. And the food was outstanding. The kids’ pizzas come with a fruit bowl full of blueberries with some raspberries and apple slices. I had the sausage pizza, which will have me coming back for more. The flavors were memorable. They must have a pizza oven and hand toss the dough, which is why the kids pizzas had beautiful bubbles in the crispy crust. My husband had the elk burger and was pleased he tried it for the first time. We had a chance to talk with Kevin, the owner, and he couldn’t have been nicer.

Awkward would be my est description. We went after 9pm on Friday night and it was very crowded, which was great! We wondered around looking for a table for four but the lights are SO bright in the lower dining room and upstairs that we sat in the main level dining room. Our waiter was super friendly and knowledgeable but after our first drink he NEVER came back=k, We had to yell his name with the help of a large table of guys sitting next to us. I ordered another drink but he never asked my table mates if they wanted anything else and never checked back. The food looked good, we did not order food this time. We live in the neighborhood so we will be back to try the food. I know they just opened so we will give them another try but… PLEASEGETDIMMERSONTHELIGHTS!

This place is in our neighborhood and honestly, we checked it out because there have been 3 different restaurants there within 5 years and we were curious. It has a great selection of beers. The food is better than bar food and the service is fantastic. We sat in the bar. Tons of families. Happy hour all day on Sunday. It would be really great if this place was successful. This neighborhood needs a good place to have a beer. I hope they can expand the patio in the summer. We will definitely be back.

Been excited for some better options in the area. We went in for the soft opening and the beer selection was on point. You can check out their full list online! The food was delicious. The green chili burger and fries and beeramisu were highlights to me. The service was a 10. We’ll be back!

IBU has a number of problems, many of which can be attributed to opening week training issues. i.e., we stood at the hostess station waiting for a table for quite some time, when the hostesses did look up she served a table of four that happened to be walking toward the station at the same time. Another hostess came up and put us on the list which gave us a ten minute wait. Service over all seemed eager but not polished, but again that is to be expected considering it is the first week being open. I had the elk burger, minus cheese with straight fries. It came as ordered and was a solid burger. Not great, I am not going to be craving it. Considering some of the other options on the menu I expected a lot more flavors though. The hummus was solid also, but the«vegetables» you expect to be part of a hummus plate on the side were actually a salad. Again not a great hummus although homemade pita bread edges this one up a notch. The digital lists of brews on tap is a great idea, but so densely packed that you have to be close to read them, an impossibility in most of the restaurant. The tweets to the restaurant being displayed are even harder to read, making it a useless feature. My biggest complaint though is the noise. The cavernous space doesn’t absorb sound at all. This made it hard to have a conversation, and by itself maybe a reason I won’t return. Overall I like the concept, and I like the possibility. There are a number of menu items I want to try, and I am always happy to see brew pubs experiment with foods outside of the standard burgers, pizza, and small salad selection.

This place is so good! We went on the first night and only a third of the menu was there because they had just opened. I ordered a burger and soup instead of fries. Beer and cheese soup was so good! The décor was amazing with bright lights which they dim and night. I will definitely go back!
