First time trying them out… found them purely by accident. Got a pizza to go. Couldn’t be happier with the quality of the pie. Awesome crust… perfectly balanced toppings. The customer service was great. Very nice people. Will definitely be back

Great pies and a great wine selection. This is a great place to hangout and see people from the neighborhood.

Got a pizza to go. Good crust good flavor. I also got a Caesar salad cuz I always get one when I can with pizza. It looked drenched and too creamy but let me tell you… it was fantastic! Nice blend of the basic Caesar flavor and simple. I do prefer a more oily less creamy Caesar but this was surprisingly tasty. Pizza: half roni half shrooms I would have cooked it for another minute or two but heated up at home did the trick. Nice crust. Very nice. They have seating now. We did take out so it doesn’t matter but just in case you were there with previous owners it has changed a bit(for the better!) we well go back.

We stopped here randomly on our way to see a movie at the Hollywood Theater. The young girl at the counter was very friendly and explained the artwork on the walls. We ordered the Margherita Pizza and the Greek. We just returned from three weeks in Italy so we’re spoiled but we found the pizza delightful! Excellent crust and good toppings. Nice wine selection too. Highly recommend giving this little pizza place a try!

The best gluten free crust in Portland, toppings are superb, and the owner is very nice and friendly too. I live clear on the other side of town, but the drive is worth it for this place.

This is a review by a vegetarian Reasonably good pizza. A little pricey. The good part of a mom’n’pop is that they’re friendly and welcoming, the other side is that it’s cramped and can be slow. Limited hours. Fine for your local take-out. Better than most chains. Not destination pizza. For the equivalent price I’d probably prefer to get to two personal Otto pies instead of one large here.

Stopped in on my way home from work, eating the Umami pizza, alone, I actually said out loud, under my breath, to myself, «oh my god, this is so good.»

What a find! Capra Verde and the beet salad were amazing! The wine list is off the hook — I walked in and saw three Owen Roe wines next to a bottle from Sean Thackery and felt right at home. Love the space — very intimate. John(who runs it with his two daughters) was very personable. So happy this is in our neighborhood!

Couldn’t tell you how the pizza was here. We parked out front and started to walk in to get a glass of wine but were told that the parking out front was for people to pick up pizza only; we said we were having a glass of wine before dinner next door(it is posted for 2 hour parking). The owner stopped us in the doorway before we could even get inside. We won’t be coming to this pizza place ever ever ever.

Couldnt have asked for a better dining experience. We ordered the capra verde pie and the roasted beet salad(special). That first bite of pizza and i was sold. fresh mozzarella melting in my mouth… the salad was simple and satisfying with a very light dressing. The service was excellent. Very hospitable and an entertaining fellow. I think i just found my favorite pizza place in portland.

This place knows how to bake a proper east coast pie. Thin, garlic, crispy crust and a wide variety of typical and not so typical toppings.

I can’t say enough. Ever had a pizza that was SO rich, and good, and filling that after one slice you said, «Oh wow, I’m done, that was so filling». Me either. Except here I did. I don’t know what it is, the quality ingredients, freshly made to order, the crust, the generous toppings, the very reasonable wines by the glass — or everything. But seriously this is my favorite place in Portland for pizza. It’s tiny — like dinky. 4 tables. Limited hours, they are open unless they are closed. They use fresh ingredients(the day we went they were out of arugula because they said they didn’t buy enough at the market that day), and when they’re out, they’re out. Did I mention the incredibly reasonably priced glasses of wine? For real, I had one slice of my pizza, and felt so full — I didn’t believe it, so I had another and geesh I was so full I had to unbutton my jeans. Helloooo leftovers!(which they wrapped for us, and separated by parchment paper to keep the slices separate — top notch I say).

Best pizza in town, period. Always remember to ask what the specials are. They will blow your mind. Some of our favorites are smoked mozzarella, mamas little peppers, and bacon Yum. So happy that this place is in my neighborhood it’s a little bit off the beaten path but well worth it

The best gluten-free pizza I have ever had and I don’t toss that award around lightly. I’m not talking about your chewy, mealy crust that punishes you for going gluten free. I’m talking the thin, fluffy but crispy on the bottom crust that perfectly balanced the high end quality toppings. When I was there they gave me free salted caramels and had a selection of wine and beer that demonstrates they know what’s up. And it is cool is the artisanal way that is uniquely Portland.

Solid neighborhood pizza joint hidden a half-block east of 52nd and Sandy. More of a take-out option as there are only 3 tables plus a few counter seats, though the small space and gregarious staff make it a cozy spot to dine in, like being in someone’s home, and in warmer weather they’re open air with a few sidewalk tables. Pies are available as 12″/16″ with a right-size selection of just-unique-enough house combos(split almost evenly between veggie/omnivore) or, of course, build your own. Quality ingredients, a thin-ish pillowy crust, and, for a place this size, a really nice collection of wines. Delicious pizza and quaffable wine: a recipe for contentedness no matter where they’re enjoyed.

That’s a tasty pizza. We’ve never been disappointed. Always fresh tasting, creative, and delicious. The staff are really friendly too. If you live in the neighborhood, you owe it to yourself to stop in and give them a try. As far as INHOLLYWOOD joints go, they’re the best.

My husband and I checked out Hogan’s Goat on a whim – we were headed to a movie at the Hollywood and wanted to grab a bite nearby first. We found Hogan’s Goat on Unilocal and decided to check it out. What a discovery! What I love about places like Hogan’s Goat is that they feel like you’re little secret. It’s tucked away in a little nook off of Sandy where most people won’t think to look. The hours are irregular – it’s only open three nights a week, and the outside looks nondescript But it’s the delicious food served within that makes Hogan’s Goat a great find. We ordered Goatilla the Hun(admittedly because the name is so good), and it greatly exceeded our expectations. The crust was perfectly crispy and thin, but still buttery and moist. The toppings were flavorful and the cheese stretchy. The drink selection was perfect – micros on tap and tons of wine. So check this gem out before it becomes a trend.

Since moving to NE Portland, we’ve eaten at Apizza Scholls twice and Hogan’s four times … Hogan’s is better. That’s right, I said it! I just wish they were open more days during the week.

I love when my neighborhood serves up a winner. Pizza is one of those foods for which most people have an opinion, and there are so many choices in this great city. For this year’s Valentines dinner, we ordered pizza from a few different venues: Hogan’s Goatilla the Hun was a hit. You can taste the artisan difference when eaten along with other pies, especially those from a chain pizzeria. I thought the price point was a little high, but $ 20+ seems to be the going rate for quality pizza. Ordering ahead was easy and prompt. I was looking forward to the Grilled Cheese sandwich, but they were out of truffle oil. Instead, I had the Meatball sandwich which was very good. The only slight negative is the sparse seating. The owners and workers(family?) were very nice.
