After being their first resident to move in during March 2014, I’ll be vacating to move to Dubai. OK it’s pricey for what you get but the Hawthorne location & local facilities are amazing. Bars, coffee shops, restaurants, bakery, grocery store & the # 14 bus stop right outside. It can get a bit noisy as you are on a main road but I got used to it pretty quickly. I have had a fabulous time at Hawthorne 26& will be sad to be leaving. Whoever takes over my lease will have an amazing apartment with the best views of the Portland sky line & hills(And the sunsets are to die for)

Don’t waste your time or money on this property. they are overpriced and poorly maintained. The management and staff are rude and incompetent. and don’t think you will ever get your security deposit back, because you won’t. your place can be immaculate upon move out, but they will still charge you for a full repaint, just because they want to change the brand of paint. which is not legal but they get away with it! The penthouse in common areas are always dirty, and their other two properties are just as bad…

Flexible about pets; no breed restrictions. Cleaning staff keeps the place looking(and smelling) good. Relatively responsive to maintenance requests, within 3 – 5 days you’ll have your widget repaired or replaced. The street noise is intrusive and the windows aren’t particularly effective dampening the sound but it’s a hazard of being on Hawthorne. You can access the popular downstairs coffee shop anytime. A restaurant/bar is opening downstairs as well. At least on my floor, the neighbors aren’t loud or crazy. There are a mix of professionals(20’s-40’s) and trust fund babies/students living here. Management is friendly, though their presence on site is sporadic as the split time among other properties. The building is overpriced for the location and amenities. However, it’s a year new and the rental market is tight at the moment.
