My favorite salon only because of Rhonda. She is more talented than she leads on! I could be paying $ 200 for my blonde hair in the downtown Portland salons because its not easy being blonde, it’s such a production, but Rhonda does an amazing detailed job and I enjoy being there with her every few weeks for touch ups and toning! Thanks!

I live in Eugene, Oregon and, once every other month, drive the five hours, round trip, to get my hair cut, colored and styled by Theresa. She also does my eye brows. She has never once increased her prices in the almost twenty years I’ve been going to her. She is a blast to talk to and knows her stuff! I get so many compliments on my hair(and even eye brows) after I’ve gone to her. I am VERY particular about my hair, yet trust her so much that I let her do whatever she thinks will look best on me and I’ve never walked away being anything but pleased with her work! Everyone at the ‘Vine is so friendly and I can tell their clients love them! I’m a lifer!

To follow up on the tip I posted: I purchased a groupon for a shellac manicure through Michelle Long at Grapevine. Within only a few days, the«shellac» on my nails had started chipping and peeling completely off after she told me it would last 2 weeks. I was going on vacation and didn’t have time to drive out to milwaukie to try to have it fixed. My boyfriend paid for a new shellac manicure at the shop I normally go to. They had an extremely hard time getting the old polish off, come to find out it wasn’t even shellac, it was either a cheap version or a different type of polish. I find it pretty disappointing when something is not only advertised but guaranteed and I was left with what turned out to be a poor quality manicure. I won’t be back.

Grouponers such as myself are usually Groupon-ing to save some money, right? If that’s you, beware. I would have rather paid $ 67 to keep my old hair. Lynda is sweet, so I feel bad writing this, but I think this is the only time in my life a bad hair job has made me cry(including the time I got yellow zebra-stripe highlights from my mom in junior high). When asked, Lynda graciously said she’d be willing to give me a subtle ombré color(instead of the full highlights mentioned in the Groupon I bought) along with the haircut and deep condition. Result: the majority of my hair is extremely bleached and dried out, and I have all-over uneven horizontal lines of color creating the appearance of a bad home bleach job with four months’ worth of roots(see photos). Also, a choppy, blunt cut that transformed my thick, wavy hair into the shape of a disintegrating pyramid. The morning after, once I realized I’d have to wear a side braid and bun every day to hide everything(which I’ve worn for almost a month straight now), I emailed a polite message with photos, asking if she’d have me come back in to blend the colors better. She responded promptly, offering a couple different appointment times, but none of them worked for me. I ended up emailing Theresa, the owner at Grapevine, a polite request for a refund and I posted this review on Unilocal. She responded promptly asking me to call her to set an appointment for her to fix my hair herself. How nice, I thought; I’ll take my negative review down and delay judgment. After three unreturned voicemails trying to schedule that appointment, spread over the past two weeks… I’ve given up.

My sister in law used to be a stylist at this salon. I’ve been in a handful of times and I always appreciate the clean atmosphere! It’s comfy and inviting. I recommend this salon to anyone. It’s always fun to go to a salon and feel comfortable and trust that they know what they’re doing. You will find that at this salon.
