I recently went to Shirene at Untangled for a drop-in ½ leg wax. She was ultra nice and since she charges more than my usual place, I hoped for a really good experience. She used oils and touted her special waxing methods. Typically a ½ leg wax takes about 30 – 40 minutes. I was here for 1 ½ hours and when she was finished and suggested I take a look, I immediately saw several patches that were unwaxed. Not stray hairs, but completely untouched patches. I’m sure she would have addressed it, but I was completely over the time I’d allowed for this and had to go(I had a babysitter). Also, my calves were feeling really sore by that point, and that’s never happened before for me. Within an hour after the waxing, I could see streaks on my skin where the skin had literally been pulled off. For the next 4 days anytime I was in the sun(even briefly) my legs would felt like they were burning(well, they were probably burning since all the outer layers of skin had been removed). It took over 3 weeks for my legs to not look like I had serious burn marks on them. I’ve never had any reaction like this before, and I don’t believe I just reacted to a lotion or oil because the lines of the wax strips were perfectly visible on my legs. I read about this after and learned that a waxer should not repeatedly go over the same area of skin. Well she went over certain areas multiple times, and those were the areas that were the worst in the end. So, in conclusion: Shirene was friendly and relaxed. The wax job took 3x longer than it should have, was the least effective wax I’ve ever had, and was more expensive than the shops I go to normally.

What a treat! I went in for a facial and was totally blown away by the service. Shirene leaves you feeling so cared for. The chocolate treatment is a great luxury that you should try at least once! The ambiance and handling technique were so gentle and relaxing. Wow!

Went here after seeing some reviews on the internet. Bad choice. The stylist was texting and answering cell phone calls from her family on non-urgent matters while she was doing my hair. She dropped multiple combs while doing my hair and actually used one of them again. I was getting low and hi lites put in. I ended up with very uneven color with bloches of blonde in places. Then attempted to leave my hair curly putting way too much product in leaving it crunchy. Every other salon I’ve been to asks if I’d like it straightened. Which I always say yes to because it’s easier to see how the color lays. Needless to say I haven’t been able to straighten my hair since because of the uneven color. The shampoo chair had one of the arms broken off. The massage area looked very uninviting. Definitely looking for another salon.

Came here with a groupon for a straightening treatment. Stylist C. arrived five minutes after my appointment start time, then needed an extra five or so minutes to get her things in order(she didn’t even comment about being late or apologize). I was kinda grossed out when she pulled out a paddle brush that still had someone else’s hair hanging off it, and used it on me without even cleaning it. Tried to halfheartedly upsell me $ 25 shampoo and a haircut. Also: she said not to wash hair for about a day after the treatment, but from what I read online it seems like consensus is that you should wait three days. Stylist was nice, just not professional at all. Salon was empty when I was there mid-day weekday, nothing fancy — a basic suburban style salon with fairly dirty floors and an empty front desk, and some country music playing pretty loud through a boom box on the other side of the salon.
