Very pleasantly surprised by how much I liked my first visit here. Tried the Chicken Schwarma wrap and my son and I both thought they were quite good. Loved the extra pickles! Wish they offered spicy sauce, otherwise would have rated this as a 5-star place. Service was fast and courteous. Love having Curbside near my home in SW Portland! Will be back to try more of the menu items.

I really wished this place was better. I don’t have an issue with the prices, it’s with the food quality. Everything seems to be canned or store bought. I wonder if they get everything up the street at the Barbur International Market. The dolmas are obviously from a can and I suspect the hummus is as well. When you get a dish, even the 12 dollar specials there is nearly no meat. I mean like maybe 8 — 10 pieces of .5 — 1 inch strips of grisly meat. The veggies seem fresh and unsure on the taztiki since everything else seems to come from a can. I have never seen the rotisserie actually moving and have been there at many different times of the day. I think they cook/carve it off first thing in the morning and just keep it heated. It looks like it is also just prepackaged meat. Real kebab meat has textures and layers, this stuff just looks like a straight down compressed meatball. I fly to IE/UK frequently and kebab shops are all around, significantly different experience. If you go to some of the other food cart areas in Portland it’s also a much better experience. If you are looking for nice carvings of moist meat you are going to be disappointed.

Disappointed. I wanted so badly for this to Food Truck to become a weekly stable, but alas, it didn’t work out. My 8 dollar beef shawarma came wrapped up in aluminum foil, with the girth a straitened banana. I ate in my car, as the entrance to the glass enclosed patio had a sign that read«Employee’s Only». The favor of the beef was great, reminding me of the wonderful Mideastern spices I’ve encountered before at other establishments. But there wasn’t much meat to begin with and more than a few bites were so grisly, I launched them out the window onto Barbur. The tomatoes and onions that rounded out the pita banana were fine, but I wasn’t a fan of the yogurt sauce. I was hoping it was a garlic tahini, but no. Luckily I had ordered a $ 5 plate of 6 Dolmas to offset my bet, and once again I was reminded as to why I don’t play the ponies. The dolmas were canned, cold and not even the good canned dolmas you can get up the street at Barbur International Food(need to do your research for best results). One bite in on the green leaf oil traps and I was done. I walked the recyclable clam-shell back up to food truck and left it near the window, as I couldn’t find a composting bin.. Curbside Kerbas were out of Lentil Soup and Spinach Pies, which were both features as specials of the day, and some of my favorite things at other restaurants. Just as well. I walked down to New Deli to get some samosas, as I was still hungry. As always, they delivered. Farewell Curbside. I felt like a sucker going in and knew I was going out. Won’t be back.

I just went there for lunch today. Their pita wrap quality was good. But the young man who was the cashier/customer service person was the rudest person I’ve dealt with at a restaurant in a very long time. He was arrogant and condescending. I would have given their beef wrap a 4 star from my first visit, but after this experience. I will not be returning. Quality of service is key to a good experience.

First time visiting this establishment and I have a mixed review. I absolutely love a good gyro so that is what I ordered, the jumbo gyro to be exact. The traditional flavor was there and I liked the fact they use the traditional meat/spit method. What I didn’t like was the price for the size of the product. For eight dollars you would expect a fairly large portion but that was not the case. There was maybe a ¼ of meat and the rest was veg. It was more of a five dollar gyro. I also was expecting the traditional, fluffy flat bread other places use but they instead use a dryer pita type bread.

One wouldn’t think it when you drive by at 40 miles an hour on Barbur, but this place is a real gem. Granted, this review is based on a single trip with a single Donar Kebab, but daaaaaamn. The meat was tender, flavorful, and not skimpy. The pita was thick, soft and warm. An the sauce… I likah the sauce, yes! I’m looking forward to my next visit. Only negative point was its a little pricey for its location and the portion size, but for that good a sandwich, I’ll overlook it.

Well, at least they’re open kinda late. Maybe my visit was on an off-night but the gyro literally had 2 slices of meat. Pita was cold, hummus was bad… Just not a place I’ll be going back to even though I LOVE gyros and this is a couple blocks from where I live.

Not bad! For a food truck with bright lights flashing«kebabs» it wasn’t bad at all. It’s also got parking which was very convenient and it’s easy to pull up too. I had the donor kebab and I was surprised at how fresh the vegetables were and the donor was delicious! I think my donor kebab was around $ 6 and the quality was great. Apparently this truck also offers hookah which isn’t my thing but there’s a couple tables and chairs in a covered area behind the truck where you could enjoy hookah which was a surprise. The guy inside the truck was nice and patient with me as I struggled to pick what I wanted off the menu. It all looked pretty good and it was hard to decide. Given the few choices for food trucks in SW Portland this one was pretty good and I will definitely enjoy a few more«Curbside Kebabs» as I pass by in the future.

So I went and checked out two Döner places for lunch recently. I had to say I was highly disappointed by Curbside. Curbside Döner did not use the traditional type of bread you would see at most Kebab shops in Germany, I believe they were using like a Greek pita bread. The meat was sliced way thicker and their sauce was way thicker and had more of a yogurt base. Their veggies consisted of lettuce, onion, and tomato. It was more towards a gyro. It’s just not a good Kebab.

After two lunchtime visits I can officially vouch for the classic donar kebab. Fresh vegetables, tasty herbs, soft & delicious pita bread along with the good lamb/beef meat. Looking forward to trying out some more of the more complex and authentic Mediterranean/Middle Eastern offerings on the menu(now a nice professional sign, not the cardboard you see in the photos currently) during my next visits. The prices are not dirt cheap here, but far from expensive for most dishes and the quality has been great do far. Definitely worth stopping by if you’ve driven past and been kebab-curious. There’s also a spacious hookah lounge enclosed patio that you can eat at if you prefer to «dine in» and they seem to be constantly working on the location, so keep checking back to see how things progress!
