Friends, please stick to reviewing actual locations. This place was reviewed 10 days ago by someone who visited another location(their food truck). This location shut down about a month ago.

Gonna keep this short and sweet because I just rolled through to the food truck– apparently there is an actual restaurant too. I liked the variety of interesting dogs, and that even the simple Easy Coast style dog was still pretty PACKED with mustard, ketchup, relish, and sour kraut. I really liked the packaging they come in, very well-designed and keeps things neat. The guys behind the window were very friendly and service was fast. Honestly my biggest issue was that there was SO much on my dog that it was hard to eat it without looking like a monster because I had mustard and ketchup all over my face. Overall, pretty tasty, good bread and toppings. Solid choice!

I love this place, always get the cheap date or the pad Thai chicken! But recently I’ve had a problem. I’ve been craving their hot dogs for the past week and a half. I’ve gone there once because I get my hair cute next door to it. And it was a Thursday at 1 o’clock and they still weren’t open. Today, 10⁄19 I did a drove by because I live across the street and their website says they close at 8. But I check my time and it was 6:45 and it was not open and was all dark inside. I’m scared to say I think they have closed their doors. I wish they would have some update or something and their page.

Delicious hotdogs just need a menu or a screen with the pictures of the hotdogs. Will come back again!

Tried to head there on my lunch at work. Went to their website to look at what they had and see their hours. It sounded good, so I drove for 20 minutes to try it out on a Wednesday. I pulled up to find it closed at 1 in the afternoon. There was a sign in the door that simply said, «Gone fishing.» Incredibly unprofessional! Post something on your website at least. It’s a business, not a hobby. If you want to be able to go fishing whenever you want, running a business is probably not a good idea. I won’t return to try it again. Not worth a 40 minute round trip for literally nothing.

Great selection of interesting sausages, if you’re looking for a hot dog, this isn’t for you, but the pad thai, nacho, pizza sausage, and more are just what you’re looking for if you want something different. It’s not gourmet dining, but it’s exactly what you want when you’re getting a sausage.

This was a new experience. I didn’t read any of the reviews on Unilocal before trying this place. I got the nacho dog. With tip, chips, and a drink it was $ 10. I don’t mind spending $ 10 for a good meal. And this was a good meal! The sausage was very tasty. The toppings were also great. I’ll the reviews on Unilocal from people that haven’t ever tried the food should be removed. I recommend you give it a shot. If you looking for cheap food then this isn’t your place, but if you want something tasty and local, then go get some :)

Unique twist on hotdogs which makes eating fun. Think common dishes recreated into hotdog form. We tried a few different types; pad thai, pizza, duck, beef rib, and Brussel sprout salad. Each person in our party loved a different one. My fav was the pad thai. There is a noodle in the sausage! My husband’s was the pizza. But that might be because he loves pizza in general. And the beef rib and duck tied out with the last person. The consensus was that the Brussel sprout salad was awful. The sprouts need to be fried and then dressed with the lemon dressing. That would be an upgrade. The restaurant is kinda weird. Very clean and modern. Theres no food to be seen anywhere. So you’re kinda guessing what type of restaurant it is when you first walk in. We thought it was sandwiches at first. But was happy to find out it was hot dogs instead. Will come back.

Bright, clean joint. Greeted immediately and menu explained. Very personable employee. Fun environment. We sat outside and were checked on a couple of times to see if we needed anything. I had the Hot Smoked Rib. A bit spicy, I found the sausage to be very dry. The topping of coleslaw, Marshall’s Hot Smoked Habanaro BBQ sauce and crushed pork rinds was the favorite of the meal. An interesting combo that would probably work well on its own. The buns– thick, heavy, not a favorite. My friend had the Cheddar IPA dog and seemed to enjoy it.(you could stuff the holes of a bowling ball with cheese and she’d eat it) I had a bite and it was OK. The spicy fries and kale was, again, an interesting take and worth the try. Fries with fresh kale tossed in with hot sauce and sweet chili. Clutch is in the Top 10 hot dog list from WillWeek. I can see how it got there, its worth a try. As my hotdog fanatic friend and I try the Top 10 list, for me, it will be hard to beat Beez Neez. Give this place a run, they have a nice business and certainly a way diff take on the norm. Anyone north of Burnside, west of 23rd ave, knows we need new, better food joints!

I got the kale fries, and the kimchi dog. It just wasn’t good. I felt like I could have made the fries from a frozen bag at home. The sausage tasted weird and it definitely didn’t go with the kimchi on top. I would have liked to give another item a try before finalizing my overall opinion, but it was just too expensive given the food to try again. The restaurant did have neat bottled drinks, and sauces. I tried one of the Sipp sodas. It was interesting.

Love the Concept. Came here for a quick bite with my Boyfriend. The layout of the restaurant is unusual. You order your food at the front kiosk then are ushered through a tiled-serpentine-lane that is lined with drinks and other snack foods that they hope you will buy… An interesting selection of bottled drinks I must say. The Butterscotch beer was awesome. We ordered the Thai Chicken Dog, the Pizza Dog, and the Smoked BBQ Dog. All were good; Thai Dog was spicy and the Dog itself could’ve used more flavor, The BBQ Dog had a great slaw and mild smoke flavor, but the Pizza Dog was closest to tasting like what was advertised. The bun was lined with mozzarella and tomato sauce and topped with parmesan and chilli flakes. We paid $ 32 for 3 dogs and 2 drinks, which is alot, but the concept was too intriguing to resist, plus where else can you find this type of House Made Sausage for cheaper? I’d stop by to try the rest of their selection, but only if it was on the way.

LOVEDIT!!! Not sure why the bad reviews. Very cool clean design. Interesting menu with original combinations. Had the Hot Chicken Wing Dog with shaved celery and blue cheese; just like chicken wings!!! The kale sweet potato fries were some of the best fries I have ever had!!! Price complaints – I don’t think it is far off from other local homemade places.

I’m surprised to see all the negative reviews on this place! Yes, you will pay more than a sonic hot dog. Yes, it’s a creative one of a kind concept. Yes, this is a portland-y restaurant in Beaverton. Deal with it. Bottom line is Clutch is making clutch sausages! I fell in love with this place. First of all, the menu is super easy… A hand full of sausage creations all sorted by kind of meat. When we went this place was dead, which I actually liked… Umm, fast and personal service? Yes please! The sausage was absolutely incredible! Pad Thai flavor with a chicken sausage, peanut sauce, chili sauce, peanuts and a heaping helping of cilantro on top. Tons of flavor and really spicy! This is a gourmet food concept: taking a hot dog and marrying it with creative and fun ingredients creating a one of a kind meal. You will pay more for that, bottom line. If you want a regular olé hot dog– go to costco. But if you want a creative and fun spin on the hot dog, visit clutch! You won’t be disappointed :)

The concept has promise… gourmet sausages, exotic add-ons(sauces, crisp chips), unusual sides(kale, etc.), if the overall experience(cost, flavor, location) is what people want. A $ 9.00 or $ 10.00 hot dog has to provide a satisfying meal. Instead the sausage size in the dry bun was not adequate. It was not juicy. The flavor was«interesting» not delicious. There is no classic«hot dog» instead Clutch serves a brown sausage listed on the menu as a hot dog. The concept creator is a noted, professionally trained chef. He believes in what he has conceived, unfortunately it is not his personal vision that matters to consumers. It is the flavor and perceived value that matters most. When I passed the stacks small sized of Kettle chip packages priced at $ 2.50, I knew the idea of providing value to the customer was out the window. I hope I am wrong, but I believe you need to provide more to the customer than what Clutch’s initial delivery does.

Wow. It’s not often I encounter such a discrepancy between Unilocal reviews and my experience at a business. It does happen, but it’s damn rare. Here is one such case. Clutch Prime Sausagery is in an incredibly inconvenient location to my home, but I made the trip out anyway. Would I drive over here every day? Not for anything. But I’ll definitely be back for some of these amazing flavors from time to time. I sampled the kimchi dog with lime togarashi aioli, sesame and seaweed atop shaved brussels with parmesan, lemon zest and hazelnuts($ 14) and it was good. Really good. The dog has a deep, complex flavor that’s seriously enhanced by the aioli and kimchi on top. A meat + greens option that, for the price is filling and has the added benefit of being lower carb. I also sampled the hot smoked rib dog with pork rinds, crunchy slaw and smoked habanero barbecue sauce($ 10). When ordered as a dog, it comes on a Pearl Bakery hot dog bun and is piled with the listed toppings. My dining companion scored the pad thai dog atop the shaved kale with farro, beets and crème fraîche($ 14). Of the three dogs, this was my least favorite, but that’s a misleading word, because I still liked it a lot. I was simply pretty blown away by the kimchi and hot smoked rib dogs. Both my dining companion and I were wowed by the flavors. The balance of sauce/toppings and fillings made for a great taste experience. Casing is nice(more like a sausage) but the size is more like a smaller sausage or dog. IMHO, the best way to go about ordering here is to get some greens and add a link. Those little boxes of salad are stuffed full of greens, and it’s a more economic way to eat your tasty dogs. Plus it’s better for you. I rarely mention other reviews in my Unilocal reviews but I will here. I admit that my main concern about Clutch is the price(as others have mentioned). The dogs by themselves are not large, and you get no sides, and at $ 9 or $ 10 that’s maybe a little steep. I can see how someone on lunch would be in a pickle having to add on chips and a drink and bring the price up to what, for me, would run over my lunch per diem. However in this case I do think that they’re offering something special here. I am willing to pay more for locally sourced and responsible meats, especially when it comes to sausage(which traditionally contains the worst of the worst processed meats — lips and assholes anyone?!). Also I think the key here is to know how to order. You get a lot of food all of a sudden when you add a dog on to greens, and the price is not that much more than the solo dog. Plus, less carbs are better for you. Anyway, soapbox over. I really dig this place. I might normally drop 4-stars because of the price(I’ll agree that $ 9 or $ 10 is more palatable when it comes with a side) but man, there’s a lot of hate here and I think these guys deserve extra props for bringing real, non-industrialized, chef-powered food out west of the hills. I won’t eat $ 1.50 costco dogs because I don’t want lips, assholes and nitrates. I’ll pay more for the meat that won’t kill me any day. Give Clutch a try. Keep an open mind. Know what you’re going in for. Not giant, gut-busting dogs, but interesting, high-quality creations.

Hot dog or haute dog? Okay, this place is obviously not geared to the likes of me. That’s cool; I can’t see myself getting into the habit of buying 10 dollar hot dogs. I had the basic. The meat was fine but the outer wrapping or whatever you call it was a little tough. Like I said, maybe there is something here that I’m missing. Otto’s, I will never stray from your loving embrace again.

Looking in from you outside you would have assumed: A. They aren’t open yet. B. Someone stole all their furniture C. Like that bachelor you know, they got a new place and threw a party despite not owning any furniture. At least that’s how it looks from the outside. When you get inside you realize through the white-on-white décor with orange accent they aren’t really pulling off, they really do have chairs and tables. You just can’t see them because there’s no color contrast to set them off from a distance. The place has a super clean sheek kind of look that in conjunction with the ultra-bright fluorescent lighting creates a type of post-modern Space Odyssey vibe. It feels a bit like a medical clean room. I wish they’d just rock that esthetic and install some pressurized fog machines in the doorway to create that freshly fumigated feeling when you walk in. The gal in front greets you and takes your order and tells you to move ahead to the register. I ordered the duck, a plain for the toddler, and the IPA. Can’t remember the meat in that one. The box was labeled CIPA so I’m guessing chicken? My bad, I’m a terrible reviewer, lets just admit right now that you’re not still reading this to hear me go on about the food.(Scroll to the bottom if you are) I step down, dude takes my money. He looks managerial. Assuming he’s either the manager or the owner. There’s a tip spot on the receipt. What do you tip the dude who makes you a hot dog? I write a dollar, look at the cost of the bill and increase to 2 $. Tipping 1 $ dollar on a 25 $ order feels like a douchey spite-tip. 2 $ feels like an, «I feel obligated to write something here» tip, Which is about right. They go to work on my order and the place is calm so I meander around. They sell gourmet condiments like ketchup, mustard and curry. Wandered up front. Gal just staring out the window, prime opportunity for a «How’s your day goin» missed. Just looking out at the parking lot. I’m checking out the beer selection. Odd stuff I’ve never heard of(cool!). No one’s talking(awkward!) A dude behind the counter seems to be the one cooking the dogs while boss man is wandering about doing prep maybe. I think the young man has a broken collar bone as he wont lift his head up to address anyone or anything above shoulder level. Or maybe he’s just really sad and needs someone to talk to. Too bad, his coworker is just trying to get through her day while saying as little as possible. Bossman calls my name and I grab my dogs and go. The duck is bold and sweet. Good flavor. The dogs are oddly squishy and don’t snap until you try to make it. Interesting. There’s chips on it, I’m assuming for texture. The IPA is good, but I can’t taste the beer. The kraut is bland. That’s not a thing. The mustard is amazing. I wonder if they sell it there. Had pretzels on it like they have some type of crunchy topping fetish. The plain dog is odd. It kind of tastes like science. I paired the dogs with Rauch Ur Boch, a smokey Lager from Caldera Brewing from MoC next door. Smart move. The dogs are good. Way over priced at 10 bucks. I’d expect to pay a bit for the duck, but for 11 bucks you need to step it up a notch. Or at least have some more practical options on the menu. I won’t be back until they either step it up or drop the prices by at least 10%. Or when I’m drunk enough to lose concept of money and an $ 11 hotdog makes sense. How about some team building exercises? Mandatory hi-5 policy for every $ 5+ tip? I’ll pay you to lighten up. I like fun.

We got the Pizza and Nacho flavors. Both were really good with complex flavors that I never would’ve thought would be good in a hot dog. I didn’t find the buns to be dry like some of the other reviews, but both of the types we had were covered in sauce. The only issue I had with the food was that the casing on the sausage was a little difficult to bite through. I thought the portions sizes were perfect for a light lunch. We’ll definitely be going back to try all the different types.

I like the concept, whole meal sausages. I got the Pizza which seems to be a spicy chorizo style sausage topped with shaved provolone, parmesan cheese, and tomato sauce. It was pretty good but not filling since I had to get it Gluten Free meaning no bun. I will most likely try the Nacho flavor next but due to cost and lack of satiety, I most likely won’t be a regular unless the get GO buns. $ 9 is a lot to pay for one link of sausage. I do like that they have Flying Cauldron Butterscotch Beer(aka commercial Butter Beer) which is hard to find in Portland. They also sell all kinds of local condiments. Process: 1) Choose sausage and state your Order Name 2) Choose bottled drinks, chips, condiments(see picture), and/or fountain drink. 3) Pay at counter for all items 4) Wait for name to be called 5) Chow down
