This place was recommended to me by a co-worker since I was looking for another fried chicken spot since my old standby has been over ran with people after being voted the nation’s second best dive bar. I am pleased to report that this place fills the need. It is nearly as good although in a different way. In short, the portions are fairly priced and made with pride. As for the bar side, the pours are generous so please tip accordingly. Yeah, I will be back.

Forget Screen Door for chicken and waffles. Where else can you get a perfectly cooked half chicken, HUGE jojos and a salad for $ 10.50? Oh, PBR tall boys are two bucks. Nirvana

Wanted to get some fried chicken and stumbled upon this place. I wasn’t too impressed as I approached the door, but was well surprised when I spent some time here! Everyone here was extremely nice and accommodating! My first time here and I already feel like a regular! Really comfortable atmosphere, helpful/informative staff and really great fried chicken gizzards!

In my 4 years here I have tried a lot of different fried chicken joints and this place still reigns supreme! Some of the best solid fried chicken and its connected to one of my favorite dive bars! The best combination! I’m from St Louis and the competition is heavy there so I feel I know what I’m talking about. I don’t wanna fuck up and have this place flooded where I can’t have my favorite fried chicken but they deserve the business!

Suct. This is place is an older business in my neighborhood, thought it would be good, thought wrong. Ordered a 2 piece dinner with Jo-Jo’s. They were out of coleslaw so I accepted the Salad for my side. The Jo-Jo’s are HUGE wedges of a potato, fried or broasted I presume. Mine were still over firm/undercooked in the middle. Not tasty. The chicken was Not as good as ANY of the grocery store deli fried chickens I’ve ever had. The chicken itself tasted… not good. At best, I could describe the meat as «industrial». It was overly salty, not well spiced, kinda bland. I didn’t finish my breast and I ALWAYS finish my food. The SALAD: chopped iceberg lettuce with chopped tomato bits in it, put in a Styrofoam box. Food Service Italian dressing in a container, on the side. Now I need a redeemer chicken after this huge disappointment.

I love this place. As a person whose vice is salty and fried things this is an amazing spot. The fried chicken is outrageously delish. I have been trying to get the fish and chips but they are sold out. The cole slaw is yummy too.

Horrible. We walked in to a dirty, greasy kitchen. I wasn’t sure we were even in the right place. When someone finally came from the back they acted as if they were put off by us being there. 20 minutes later we got dry, gross tasting fried chicken. Silver lining: I can spend my time eating at places that actually try for future eats.

Drove past this place a hundred times and never really noticed it… until tonight thanks to my handy dandy Unilocal app! Driving by on Glisan it appears to be closed… only 1 window and a door which doesn’t seem like a entrance… more like the back door of the kitchen to a bar… and that’s what it is. There’s a small parking lot around the back(3spaces) and hardly any close street parking… reminds me of a corner store that sells fried food. Not a bad thing. We park and walk up clueless trying to figure out if we enter through the door from the parking lot, The one on the corner but when you look inside it’s a bar with video poker machines and people sitting there and then you walk a little further and bam… it’s Chicken Little! I was afraid to open the door because it looks like the wrong damn door… better signage people. There are 3 barstools up by the register but not for sitting… because if you were sitting there whoever came in order after you would have to look over you to order there’s no room inside. Thank God no one was there. Lady(only cook) said hello and kept fixing plates. Waited about 2 minutes before she offered to take our order. Really cheap prices… reminds me of Jack’s chicken over there on 9th& Alberta. I couldn’t believe it $ 5.50 for 3 wings and Jo Jo’s…that’s what’s up! So we waited 32 minutes and it was delicious! Ordered a 2 piece dinner served with French fries and my favorite Reesers potato salad! Now I enjoyed my meal but the 3wings/oversized jojo’s were terrible. My partner refused to eat. The wings were so small I wasn’t sure it was the whole wing or the drumlette. The jojo’s were the size of 1 whole sweet potato… not happy at all. Jack’s chicken is 5 star compared to this. Not so happy we came her waste of $ 23 My daughter did not like the cheeseburger said it was too big. It came with 2 small bags of Lay’s potato chips I would not come here again mos def!

This place is nothing to look at, but yeah, the chicken is that good. It’s done in small batches so the guy doesn’t have time to talk to you. You wanna talk or watch the game, squeeze through the door to the adjacent bar. Pull up a chair that’s seen better days, and chit chat with the locals. mmThey have burgers and such, too. I have my own sauce at all times like the fatties we are, plus they provided hot sauce, so I’m not sure what others were expecting. We are going to be getting a large order for a mixer we are doing and I’m excited that Unilocal didn’t lead me astray. We’ll pick up some bottles of sauce and vegan drumsticks at fire on the mountain and have a great spread at a fraction of the price with better crunch and more meat. I’m getting hungry.

BEST fried chicken I have had in Portland. I am from Texas so lets just say that I have extremely high standards when it comes to fried chicken. I just moved a couple of blocks away from this place and I am SO happy I decided to try it today. I walked in the door– nothing special just a hole in the wall with three or four barstools. The cook was a sweetheart and told me that it would take ½hr to cook the food. Estatic(because GOOD and REAL fried chicken takes a while) I walked through the doorway that connects the chicken place to the bar next door and paid my $ 2.75 to the, also sweetheart of a man, bartender. When I got the chicken it was seasoned exceptionally, crisped to the juicest of juicy perfection and piping hot. I have had some very high-rated fried chicken in PDX(Screen Door etc…) and Chicken Little just knocks everyone out of the water… or should I say coup.

JUSTGETTHECHICKEN!!! It’s the BEST I’ve had in Portland… and a few other towns… maybe the best. I dunno, it’s hard to say. I liked the salad too(with either blue cheese or thousand island dressing that they make in-house) but it’s iceberg lettuce so, if you’re against that, don’t do it. and a few drinks next-door(at the Hourglass) that place is pretty awesome. BUT, if you order anything other than the chicken(jo jos, mushrooms, fries) you will be upset(with the exception of the tots, cause who could mess those up?)

This is the best fried chicken in Portland. They deep fry, pressure cook the chicken and it always comes out delicious. In addition, the prices are great deal for the amount of chicken and sides you end up getting. I recommend either getting your order to go, or next door at the connected Hourglass Café, because the small counter area in Chicken Little’s is pretty tiny. My favorite experience there, was getting a large order of chicken and jojos to go there one time. When we got back to the house, we were perplexed by the addition of a large soft drink cup amongst our order as none of us had ordered anything to drink. Upon opening it, we discovered it was full to the brim with ranch dressing for our jojos. Delightful!

Awesome fride chicken. And really cheap. Haven’t tried anything but the chicken, though the burger looked good as I watched a man inhale it. I’ve obtained chicken from here over 20 times now, and have never been let down. Make sure to tip the kitchen directly, I’m not sure if the bar shares.

This is a hole-in-the-wall kind of place, BUT, they have really great chicken. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and crispy(Yum!). Their coleslaw is not bad and their jojos are giant! My FAVORITE is their chicken gizzards, which are battered, fried, perfectly seasoned, and so succulent. Definitely will be back to try their breakfast menu.

This place is pretty cool. Prices are on the cheap side and and the food is tasty. Fried chicken & waffles not as good as Dub’s — but good, waffle a bit overcooked. And the fries were excellent. But to top it all off, there’s a lunch special(at least on Saturday there was) with a leg, thigh & waffle for $ 5. WHAT? yup. Or you can get a breast instead. The place itself is quite odd and tiny — there may be 2 or three bar stools, but not really room to actually sit. Is it a clean establishment. Hell if I know. But the food was pretty darn good and for $ 5, I can’t not be a fan. I will come back to try some sides!

This place proves that amazing food can come from a hole-in-the wall. I’ve never been a fan of fried chicken, this place may just change that! My favorite was the breast; the meat was perfectly cooked, super moist, the skin was super crunchy, well seasoned and not too greasy! You get a lot of food for a great price. My husband and I each ordered a ½ bird which is a 4 piece that comes with 1 wing, 1 thigh, 1 drumstick &1 breast. We paid less than $ 15. One thing to remember, chicken is made to order. Make sure you call ahead or you can hang-out in the bar next door

Maybe I went on an off day but I was really disappointed. The chicken I got was extremely dry and tasted too salty. Maybe it was just old? I paid $ 7 something and I know I would have gotten a better meal at Popeye’s or even KFC. It’s hard to believe chicken of that quality would be the main dish of this small place. Being so disappointed I decided to order fries since the waitress told me they are fresh cut. That sounded exciting but again I was so disappointed. Even though they were brought right out of the fryer, they were already soggy and limp. Frying fresh cut potatoes isn’t the same as the frozen kind but I suspect the restaurant doesn’t know this. If you don’t have the oil at the right temperature, they soak up too much oil without crisping.

We got the chicken and waffles and the 2 piece dinner. The salad that came with the dinner was just an iceberg mix from a package i think, but it was crisp. The jojo’s that came with them were huge! It was basically a giant russet quartered and fried. We also tried the deep fried mushrooms, but they weren’t that great. It seems like a lot of the food comes out of a frozen bag, but their chicken is good! Even the breast that came with the waffle dish was super, super tender and juicy. I usually always order dark meat when it comes to chicken, but this place would be an exception. The clam chowder was actually very good. Not sure if it was from a can or not, but it definitely had a good clammy, butter flavor to it. I liked it a lot. The staff is very friendly and attentive without hovering. It ‘s like a neighborhood bar. Nothing fancy inside. Reminds me of a local sports bar. Simple, affordable menu. I’d be back for the chicken and chowder if I was in the area.
