I stopped in with a fellow remote employee compatriot to check out this sparkling new coworking space in the core of Portland, and there’s no question about it… I’d love to work here. This joint has a lot of things going for it. First, it’s sexy. Damn sexy. The layout, the style, the design, the open and bright spaces, even the people who work there. Everything about it screams hip and new and hot. The name and logo design even… something I’d like to be associated with. Second, The layout is a mix of spaces including some open, high-ceiling loft-style action, some bull-pen hotness, and of course quite a few closed in office areas. You really have your pick of the litter when it comes to the setup you want. And of course let’s talk about location. It’s about as central(or should I say CENTRL?) as you can get. Yup. I went there. Third, they have technology and support. Things were still coming together when we toured, but they seem to be dialing everything in real nice. Including a common area with TV that will provide for a great social scene. And we remote folks know how that goes — social scene is a huge component of coworking. Alas, it’s not meant to be for me. The pricing here is out of my range. But that’s not an indictment of value(or lack thereof). You seem to get what you pay for here. Having guested at other cowork spots in Portland, I can say without a doubt that this is the nicest, hippest, most upscale one of the lot. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for a place to post up. If you’re willing to pay for it, it’s likely worth it. And if image means anything to your business, you’ll need it. Check this spot out. It’s super cool.
