I don’t understand about the bad reviews
I have been coming here for 25 years, and new owners are great, I had my pomerianian, wookkee nails done, hair cut
And shampoo it was great as usually.

I have a 10 year old dog with liver disease who also has joint pain. The first time I brought her to this shop I stressed that they needed to be very gentle with her, as she has come home from groomers limping in the past. She was fine the first time, and I was very happy with her cut and the price. The second time I picked her up, the girl who helped me was being very rough with a bigger dog, and then just dropped my old dog on the floor when she got her out of the cage. This was very disappointing to me, as I thought I had found a good groomer. If the employees are willing to be rough with dogs in front of me, how do they treat them when no one is there?

Not sure why this place has such bad reviews… We had a great experience here! Went in to get my pups nails trimmed. They take walk-​ins so it was really convenient and only took a couple mins. The staff was super friendly and obviously animal lovers. Chatted with a couple of the staff for a while. They loved my pup Rezz and Rezz loved them! Highly recommend this spot !

Very disappointed. Since Norma passed-​away this shop has just gone down hill. They fired the best groomer they had wish I knew where A was at? They said they were not increasing prices that was a lie. Liz their newest groomer can’t stop smoking at the front door and it stinks. The new owner is rude and only interested in the dollar. She has no experience as a dog groomer and has no ability to hire good people.
I have been going here since Norma opened the shop in the late 80’s will never go back again. Owner BEWARE!

After spending almost 2 years looking for a groomer who would take care of my Persians they way I WANTED them groomed, I decided to call here.
After calling 3 other groomers and only getting increasingly frustrated, I called here and spoke to Liz. What a relief to find a groomer that was experienced in Persians AND experienced in good customer service!
I brought my younger kitty in to have a full sanitary trim and knot removal. Every groomer up here REFUSED to do a scissor trim on the Persians. Liz agreed to– the caveat was that it may not be an even cut.
She was WONDERFUL and was awesome with the cut. She is knowledgeable about Persians and patient and firm with her cuts.
My Persian is exactly how I wanted him to look– clean and kept, and he is a happy kitty!
I will be bringing both kitties to her — and her price is reasonable and more than competitive.
What a great find!
I also spent time with the new owner– what a great lady she is! She has a passion for animals that I do, large breed and small, I am very happy with this place and will recommend as much as I can!

Took my dog here, he hadn’t been groomed in quite some time. They were very friendly and flexible with drop off and pick up times. My dog looked great and wasn’t stressed or nervous. I understand they recently changed ownership, I will definitely be back.

Took my dog here once and got the worse experience ever. My dog’s fur was all sticky and disgusting as if they didnt fully remove the soap. His coat started to clump together after a couple of days. Idk what they did, but definitely not coming back.

The staff here is very friendly and great to all of the animals. If you want to spoil your K-​9 or Feline, then bring them to the staff at Cat-​N-​Doggie Do’s for a spa day.

Front desk guy needs an education in customer service. He was extremely rude to me on the phone, & was very condescending. I will never take my cat to Cat N Doggie Do’s again. I will take my business elsewhere. I do not appreciate being treated poorly by someone who is running a business.

We went here for the first time on Saturday and had no problems. We had been taking our pug to one of the bigger groomers and had become dissatisfied with the level of service we were getting lately. We have a very energetic pug that loves to squirm. Getting his nails grinded had become such a big hassle at our old place. When we told the owner here about what happened he simply said that does not happen here we would take extra care with him. So we decided to give it a try with a wash and grinding. We were actually there when they grinded his toe nails and they first invited one of us back to see if that might calm down the pup a bit but it just made it worse. They called over another groomer and had her calm him down while the nails were tended to. I did not have any problems with either the customer service or the service my animal received we will be back the next time we need a cleaning and clipping.

We’ve taken our dogs here for years. We have always had big, hairy dogs. We have an Akita/​border collie mix and a Bernese/​border collie mix. Before that, we had a Newfie/​lab mix. Big. Hair. Lots of hair. And honestly, we wait longer than we should to bring them in to get washed/​groomed, and they always come home shiny and beautiful. Our Bernese, who has only 3 legs, requires extra help because of her size and balance issues — and the staff at CNDD handle her well.
This place isn’t fancy. If you’re looking for a foofy pet spa, keep looking. It is strictly utilitarian. The dogs don’t come home with a bandana scarf or painted toenails, but I am just fine with that. The price is right and we can always get them an appointment.

Super friendly and knowledgable staff! Great prices. What typically cost extra at other groomers I’ve used is included in the price. You don’t have to bring your dogs entire medical history with you making same day appointments possible. I couldn’t be happier with the grooming and my dog is pretty happy too.

I feel like this place will be on an upcoming ²⁰⁄₂₀ special where they investigate horrible businesses that mistreat animals and have terrible owners that don’t care about customers or feedback. I wonder why this place is still open? If this was a restaurant, chef Gordan Ramsay would need to be called to do an episode of kitchen nightmares.

My aunt took her dog here for years & loved it so we gave it a try. We have 4 dogs, all under 35lbs. The staff has always been friendly, dogs have always been completed by the time promised. We have gone multiple times. Our dogs have never came home with fleas, no cuts, etc. We will continue to support this business as long as they take care of business. :-)

I too have been bringing my longhaired cats here to be groomed for several years, and am surprised by the bad reviews. Cat & Doggie Dos has always done well by my cats, although it is true that the place is small, cramped, and busy, and that they don’t have a place for people to sit and wait while their pets are worked on. The staff I’ve met there have been kind, if a little rough around the edges. Standard practice is to take the pet in before noon, pick him up before 3 pm close. My cats are pretty easygoing, so they haven’t been unduly stressed by the noise and presence of dogs, though I could see that being a problem for more sensitive kitties.

I have taken my cat, Buster, here 3 times and have always had a good experience. My cat is a Maine Coon, he’s big and has long hair, so we have him shaved each spring. They give him a bath and shave him down to a nice lion’s cut. They call when he is about ready so I can head over which is nice since that means no waiting time for me or Buster. He’s always looked good after, well cut, no nics, and smells good. I will continue to bring him back!

I just moved in from the far west side and was very happy to drive by this place as it was a couple of blocks from my house. My boys are big. 18 pounds of Maine Coon kitties. I used to have them groomed at Banfield and/​or Petsmart. Kind of depended what time of year and if the had a groomer for cats. It was hit and miss and the turnover was horrible. I would not do that to my kids.
So I took one in first as I read the widely varied reviews. I don’t care about cost because they are family, I just wanted some place to go that was consistent and had longevity and lots of experience.
My boys, Bill and Ted, are quite happy and so am I. They got a bath, nails clipped, and a lion cut. They asked me questions about what I wanted prior and were quite amiable. I felt good about leaving the, there. They said about 3 hours.
Almost to the second they called. I asked if the boy was good and he actually went to ask. That was nice. The place could use a full time sweeper as they must go through a dumpster of hair daily. But they were very good in the back and easily seen and watched. They did not hide and treated all the a iMacs that I saw with a smile.
They talked to my boys by name and seemed proud of their work. Maybe I just get along with folks well but I did not in any way have a bad experience here. And my boys seemed well at ease and happy. They were clean, well cut and no flees.
Definitely 5 stars from me and the boys.

Wow, I just went online to look up their number for the zillionth time. I’ve taken my cats to Norma at Cat and Doggie Do’s for years. For at least 15 years and never had a bad experience. My current cat is a freak when it comes to grooming so Norma allows me to come back and hold her while she cuts her hair and Pearl doesn’t mind that. I live in Willamette Heights, before that, The Pearl and before that in Beaverton and gladly drive the distance to have Norma take care of all my animals grooming needs. We’re getting a GSD next year and guess who gets to take care of his grooming needs? You guessed it! CAT AND DOGGIE DO’s!!!

I wouldn’t bring my kitties here again — next time I will pay just $ 10 – 20 more and get a mobile grooming service that comes out with a van and does the grooming on-​site, to reduce stress for my cats.
The grooming staff seems competent and caring — that’s why they get two stars. The husband of the head groomer, however, runs the front desk and he is the reason why they lost 3 stars for me.
One of their groomers was out sick, and therefore were running 45 minutes behind. No big deal, please just call me and ask me to come in later, or offer to reschedule. But having my cats waiting, stressed out, for all that time is not okay.
The guy had the nerve to imply that I’m an overprotective cat parent because I insist on staying and waiting with my cats. First of all, I’ve never met you before. Why would I leave my cats with you? Second, they are stressed and I think having a familiar person nearby is only compassionate. Third, just because they are putting on a calm front doesn’t mean that’s actually how they are feeling.
In fact, one of our cats was all curled up tightly in a ball. It turned out she had peed herself (first time) and was protecting the wet spot — not sure if that’s because it was getting cold or if she was somehow embarrassed. I don’t know if cats get embarrassed. I’ve never seen a cat pull their tail that tightly around themselves. Was it the fright or the long wait or both? She may have peed as soon as we got in the door, from the barking and other noises, or it could be that if we’d been helped promptly that it wouldn’t have happened.
Either way, she couldn’t be groomed while wet. I paid a bit extra for a bath (poor girl!) and a blowdry. Again, the groomers were patient and sweet with her once she was in the back. She wasn’t completely sweet to them but they understood. ;)

this really is a horrible place to get your pet groomed,
about 2 years ago.
i took my yorkie here, it took them longer than usual. i already thought that was kind of strange. when i went to come pick him up.
they said «everything was fine» they didnt say a word.
when i left, he was acting all happy like he always is. then when i started petting him i noticed he had some kind of yellow glue on his ear.
when i started investigating more to figure out what the heck it was, BLOOD STARTED SQUIRTING EVERYWHERE. It got all over my clothes, car seats. and till this day it has left a terrible stain.
I drove back there, and was yelling at them… they kept saying «its just a cut, its just a little cut, like when you cut your lip»
they just kept pouring peroxide all over his ear. and of course he was IN PAIN! ’cause this guy couldnt stop Unilocaling.
IT DOESNT MATTER, if it was just «CUT» or not, what mattered was the fact that cat-​n-​doggie dos NEVER told me about the incident. I never received a phone call during the groom, and they failed to mention it when i picked them up.
he has a permanent scar from this grooming. and he’s terrified of grooms now. they did give me back my money, and they did pay for his «vet visit»
but they never really once apologized for not telling me.
I feel as though this is like a «mcdonalds» for dog grooming, they take as many dogs as they can, and groom THEM REALLY FAST. they dont really take their time. they honestly just want your money.
RUN FAR FAR FAR AWAY. AND DONT ever take your pooches here for a groom.
i wrote a review about them years ago under a different account on Unilocal that i had. in which it was filtered. and i dont remember the password to that account. but i just wanted to give my two cents.
this place really needs to be out of business.
