Castellano just finished a chair and ottoman for us. They had the chair on site when we ordered the denim plain blue fabric (no print or plaid to match). They ordered over 4 yards too much and as a result I paid for excess material that was not needed. I questioned this and they said that they have to make sure they have enough fabric for the job. Understandly, but 4 yards over the needed amount is excessive. They wouldn’t compensate me for the overage and as a result I would never do business with them again. I was planning on having a custom sofa made but not with them.

I have been very disappointed with this company. Poor upholstery job with threads and seams coming undone with a few months of the job. Owner became defensive and not once apologized for the problem. Was told they were too busy to take the piece back-​have not heard from them since. Also 8 extra yards of fabric over ordered,
Communication and follow up a real problem. Very disappointing experience… and yes I know they have been in business thirty years. Portland’s «best» ?
…me thinks not!

We had Castellano build a custom couch for our family room, to fit into a uniquely shaped space. They did an impeccable job, and it fits PERFECTLY into the space. Nancy Pinney did a great job visiting our house and helping us pick the right design and fabric finish for our room. The work is all done locally, using locally-​sourced wood for the frame. And quite affordable. I’m a very happy customer!
