Great products but very pricey. I’m not sure if I caught the woman behind the counter on a bad day, but she did not say one word to me, even after I purchased something.

I love this store! It’s full of good-for-you cosmetics that actually do the job they’re meant to do, without adding to your chemical toxin load. I discovered my new favorite line of facial care, Keys, there, and have bought the natural line of make-up that she sells, as well as shampoo and conditioner. Emily is very knowledgeable about the products she sells, without being preachy or pushy. She’s quick to offer a sample, and so far I’ve been satisfied with all my purchases. The store has a lovely atmosphere that invites lingering and browsing, and the prices are quite reasonable.

Ooh, how chi-chi! Upon recommendation of fellow Unilocaler Suzanne F., I took a leisurely stroll up Fremont, walked into Camellia and I was downright delighted! It is a beautiful and simple shop, girly but modern. The gal working(another fellow Unilocaler, I believe… what a great Unilocal world we live in) was really helpful and friendly. She had several great recommendations for me and helped me select a few gifts and things based on her personal experience with the products. Naturally, the smaller-batch, handmade products are going to cost more, but honestly I was expecting it to be totally out of my price range, and it was not. I purchased several artisan soaps plus a fancy-pants mascara for my ma(only $ 11!), and a neat-o lotion«stick»(twist-up, like a giant chapstick). Plus, there was a large sale table. Great store, definitely will be back. Dapper, elegant, mod, stylish, eco-friendly, and chic stuff.

I’m not much of a fancypants makeup girl, but I recently made the unsettling discovery that certain products that I had been spending some not inconsiderable monies for under the assumption that they were paraben, pthalate, and misc assorted other spooky chemicals-free were actually… not so much. Sigh. So, I was delighted to find a shop in Portland where everything is pre-vetted to be free of such things. Yay not taking in more toxins than you absolutely have to! Or at least yay to not paying for the privilege. The shop itself is very lovely and modern-looking with a good selection of non-evil products — many of them locally made. I got some makeup and some sage lotion I wound up buying smells like happiness in a bottle. All high-quality stuff — more expensive than what you would buy at the five and dime, but comparable to(and even a bit cheaper than) department store cosmetics.

I love this place. She has a great selection and it’s well organized. There are many unique items as well as some classics. The only thing I’d like to see them do is take returns. I’ve been happy with most products but some are just not right for me and I feel like it’s money down the drain. Otherwise, the owner is pleasant and happy to help without being pushy.
