I was visiting from out of town and didn’t even notice this place as I walked by. I didn’t even know I was in Chinatown… and I’m Chinese! It’s just a window with a menu on the sides. What stopped me was the prices on the menu. It was sooo cheap! And no sales tax! I’m from CA and good burgers go for $ 10 and up and they’re tiny! That’s what she said! Just kidding! I ordered the Classic and the burger was a pretty good size. I thought an $ 8 burger would taste crappy but I was wrong. It tasted just like an expensive gourmet burger you would get at a 5 star restaurant. I forgot what was in it but trust me it’s that good! My friend ordered the Couture burger and that one had a fried egg in it. I wish they had a C burger here in the bay. I would be there every week until I get a heart attack.

This place is so delicious. Their vegetarian burger is my favorite in Portland. My friends also liked the meat burgers. The fries are delicious and compliment the burgers well. You do have to deal with a lot of drunk people because it is only open during prime old town drunk parade time.

The Good; Burger was excellent had the in and out fry sauce flavor. The Bad; 20 minute wait outside in the rain and I was the only person there. Bottom Line; If a take out burger takes 20 minutes you might as well just go to a sit down restaurant, but then again you wont find many burgers as good as the Cburger!

GOODGODINHEAVEN. These are the best burgers I have had in quite a while. Both times I’ve gone I’ve gotten the same thing-the C burger on an english muffin. The beef is so tender. They are cooked perfectly. And they have walla walla onion rings that inspired me and my friend Sean to basically make sex noises while we were eating. They come with spicy ranch, I think, but they don’t need them. I love that they are open late. Love love love love loooove. You run into homeless people a lot while you are down there, but i think that makes the whole experience that much more awesome. I love going to Boiler Room, realizing the wait is too long to sing, and then ending up here. It’s happened more then once.

Hot damn. How have I NOT reviewed this place? Absolutely the best burger in Portland. Yes, I just said that. Foster — Meh. Violetta — Amazing fries, but the burgers… Killer Burger — Okay, amazing, but different. Yakuza — Okay, really amazing, but it’s a full-on swank restaurant. Little Big — Great, but small. The Couture burger is where to begin. The fries are good and the onion rings are super-top yummy. Seriously, best burger in town.

I don’t recommend eating here unless you are prepared to be disappointed by every burger you eat anywhere else hereafter. Every bite of this burger is bittersweet. Bitter because you know you are getting that much closer to finishing the burger but sweet because it’s so damn good. I don’t know their secret, but I’m pretty sure it’s some sort of illegal, highly addictive narcotic because I dream about these burgers nightly and can’t seem to go more than a few days without needing another. By far the best burger in the history of ever.

Good stuff. Burger had a smoked taste. Pink in the middle. i’d give it a 3.5*. I’m in no rush to go back, but if I were in the area and hungry I’d swing by.

C Burger might be my favorite burger place on the west side of the river — Killer Burger being the east side drug of choice. The menu is concise and features some interesting recipes — one of the few restaurants where I really want to try everything on the menu. The patties are cooked to order(I’ve tried medium-rare and medium and they’ve delivered) and the ingredients taste fresh and distinct. The onion rings and fries are battered and seasoned with rare finesse — crispy, moist, salty and prominently featuring rosemary. Love it. I’ve never been there when they’re busy, so it’s a nice quiet place to have lunch with a few friends — I’ll certainly be seeking it out anytime I’m downtown and in the mood for a burger and fries.

Q: How long does one have to wait for a freaking burger? A: A long-ass time. Service is pretty shitty. Hipster behind the counter let his friends come in, and eat in the prep area… while sitting on the counter! I was surprised, to say the least. Really good burgers though. Top notch. Just wish I hadn’t gotten a glimpse behind the curtain.

Thursday Sept 15, 2011 Lunch @ 4:15 P.M. wait time: 10min. As a flexitarian, I am extremely picky when I eat meat, especially since I only eat meat(beef) once a week. I like to enjoy nothing but the finest meat I can find. Meat to me is a delicacy, not a necessity for my diet. I ordered the basic hamburger at C Burger, $ 6COUCHSTREETBURGER(cascade natural beef, american cheese, burger sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion house pickle, choice of burger bun or english muffin). &2HOUSECUTFRIES. Since I had never tried ‘cascade beef” i was really curious to try it. Basically cascade beef is «minimally processed»(natural raised cattle, 100 percent vegetarian diet — no animal by-products, and Angus or Angus– cross). Better diet than most of my friends. Bottom line: I would definitely eat another burger here.

This is one of my guilty lunchtime pleasures. It’s a little pricey, but oh so good. If it’s a nice day, my co-workers and I get out burger and fries and walk down the street to eat on the rocks in Waterfront Park. I usually have to flip a coin to decide Fries or Onion rings. Both are very good.

Probably the only good thing about this place, the burgers(!) served out the window. Well, maybe the fries. Haven’t tried them yet though. And all this without stepping into the place! extra star! Minus star for having to watch the nonsense of the neighboring establishment. Only tried the Couch Burger so far, it’s the basic one $ 5 had it on an english muffin. Exquisite! Gonna try the Couture burger at some point, it’s got a lot of stuff on it. Put on your list of late night grabs.

Wow, what a heart stopper. Had the classic with fried egg… I’m amazed I survived it. Egg, hollandaise, 1⁄3 lb beef. Where are my statins? Also got the onion rings. While I love Walla Walla’s, these weren’t particularly that great either — very greasy with the breading/coating slipping off each huge ring. Seriously, this is not health food by any means. It wasn’t bad tasting but the flavors weren’t worth shaving a month off my life. Wouldn’t go back.

I think C Burger has the best burger in town. The Couture burger is incredible– 2 kinds of delicious and melty cheese, bacon, tomato jam, shallots, all on an English muffin. Totally inspired, and definitely worth the 8 dollars. Their fries are great, but I don’t recommend their onion rings(they were a little soggy, but the spicy dip they came with was awesome). If you are ever downtown on a sunny day, get a couture burger, find a place to sit on the park blocks or on the water front, and prepare to have an incredibly enjoyable experience.

I love C-Burger! The location is just a take out window but I go out of my way, way out of my way, to get there. I love the Couture Burger, with great beef, apple wood bacon, crispy shallots, fourme d’ambert(amazing cheeze like creamy blue), fontina(yes, in addition!), tomato jam(great sweet but mellow flavor perfect for this), lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle on english muffin. It is the best! Have tried with chix and prefer the beef. Also enjoy the buttermilk onion rings with their spicy ranch and house cut fries! Try it out soon.

Their Chix Burger is INSANE!(albiet expensive). Would be willing to get it more often if it were cheaper… or would be willing to pay that much if I knew it were organic/free range.

Saturday night in old town«The air was thick with cat calls». This burger is worth all the shenanigans downtown has to offer. The classic is on another level it’s one of a kind. It is a burger eggs benedict if you will. Hamburger, hollandaise aoli, canadian bacon and egg, with an English muffin as the bun. Fuck me running it’s good.

Went back to C Burger today, on Couch, between 3rd and 4th. If you haven’t been, it’s a door front take out burger in the back of the Couture Club. Strictly al fresco, without seating. I have had a great burger there before, today, I had a good burger. I ordered the Couture, at $ 8, with Cascade Natural Beef, applewood smoked bacon, a couple of cheeses, tomato«jam», crispy shallots, aioli, lettuce, tomato, onion, house pickles. Also got a small order of fries for $ 10. He said it would take 8 – 9 minutes, and that would be on the speedy side, I realized, as I was the first(and at that point only) customer. I walked down the street to the mini mart to get a couple other things for the new office(also on Couch!), and meandered back to wait for my burger, which was ready in the time he promised. Went back to the office, dug out a paper plate, and some napkins, took the burger out, lifted the bun(I asked for a bun, the menu says this is an English muffin type burger), and poked around. Hmmm, everything seems to be in order. Except? What? A case of porcinus missingus. No bacon. Hmm, no crispy shallots either. Oh well. Bit into this baby, and it is surely an explosion of flavors. Great beef, and quality condiments. I’m usually not a ketchup guy at all, and I could have asked for no «tomato jam» and personally would have been happier. It’s just too sweet for my personal taste, but lots of people I know rave about it. Lots of aioli, which I love, could be stronger for me, and I love the house pickles, and should have asked for a pile more of them. They are paper thin. Will I be back? Hell yes, this is a damned fine burger within spitting distance of the office. I like to try things as the chef intended, but next time, I’ll order it to my own liking. Hit up C Burger. Worth the trek.
