Best Friend Juice & Espresso

My friend and I happened upon Best Friend on our way to Free Geek. My friend had been craving something fruity, fresh and healthy, the menu has many options that fit that description, and the owners, who were currently helping and talking to a customer, seemed really friendly. Plus, it’s an adorable little cart! We were deciding on a juice when one of the owners let us know they were doing a buy one get on the green and if course best friend juice drink, which we thought was creative and great. We ordered one of each, both of the drinks were not only fresh and healthy but super delicious. Though, I really liked the best friend! The owners let me take some photos (one of which they were in holding a pineapple like a baby and was quite funny, I’ll be loading some soon), and talked to us a bit about our travels. I love this place. I’ve been coming here every few weeks for months. The Frank Ocean is till the best juice ever, now they put Jalapeño in it and it’s better than ever.
I can always count on friendly thoughtful conversation when I stop in.
And the snacks are delicious.

After a delicious brunch at Pine State Biscuits (right across the street,) my boyfriend was looking for a serious caffeine fix. While we could have gone next door to the café, we decided to stop by this cute little food truck with a beautiful and colourful seating area, which also had free samples. The samples they had were for the smoothie Margaux Mango, which was delicious. I ended up ordering one of those, and my boyfriend got a cappuccino, which he stated was the best he had in Portland. The weather was beautiful, so we decided to chat with the owner (who I am assuming is Margaux) and we got some suggestions and had a bit of a chat. She was rather quick for a solo operation, getting to our drinks pretty fast even though someone else was ahead of us in the queue. I can’t speak to the cappuccino, but it was really nice hearing about their business, as well as how they finally found a nice spot and how grateful she was for our patronage because y’know– it can be hard out there for a food truck!
She also had samples of what I’m guessing is her homemade raw chocolate bar called the Margalaxy Moon bar– which was ALSO delicious. We didn’t buy one, since we were stuffed, but it’s delicious and if you’re into raw foods, the Margalaxy bar is one of the best things I’ve tasted in a long time. I’d recommend coming here if you’re around the area, because the drinks are unique (she specializes in smoothies and homemade juices) but the standard fare (coffee, etc.) is excellent as well! The snacks are also great if you choose to do so. The owner was really sweet as well, giving us suggestions and welcoming us to Portland for our visit. Whenever we come back, we’ll be hitting up Best Friend for our juice and cappuccino fix!

I have never had less than awesome experiences at the best friend cart. i think frank ocean is my favorite juice i’ve ever had — — and like most other portlanders, i’ve had many many juices in my day. i truly could not believe how fair the prices are compared to competitors. the owners are so friendly, fast with service, and knowledgeable. You can feel the love radiating from the cart as soon as you arrive. the plant-​based Margalaxy Moon Bars might be the only bars in this galaxy that actually fill my tummy. I wish i lived closer to BF so i could go all the time! Alas, I am a great distance and will have to settle for special occasions. Keep up the good work.

Well, glad I chose the Juice Cart, because my crappy day was feeling not so crappy soon after. I got the Ameen Green at the juice maker’s advice, and got smoothie like Margaux’s Mango for home for my daughter. Needless to say, I was finished with mine before even the bus arrived, and I drank my daughter’s as well en route.
I was feeling calm and blissful in no time. Best Friend was run by a happy good natured young guy whose philosophical talk cheered me up as well. Life is good!

Oh baby! Visiting Best Friend is truly a delightful experience. Each recipe is unique and thoughtful — they put black pepper in the mango smoothie so you can better absorb the turmeric! — tasteeeeee and fresh (duh). The espresso is spot on, too. The cart has lovely details like pretty wallpaper and a record player and a big ol’ bench outside for your booty to relax on while sipping your concoction and chatting to the sweetie pie owners. This cart is worth a visit in any season, day, or mood. I always leave feeling happy and healthy and glowing! I gotta try the whooooole menu!

There’s so many things to love about this place! For starters, the owners are the sweetest, kindest humans that truly just want to serve people good, nutritious food and beverages. All of the drinks are fresh and the raw Margalaxy bars are seriously so good!!! I love coming here and listening to the tunes and chatting with the rad humans that run this place, while waiting (a short wait time for fresh juice, I must say) for my delicious smoothie! I suggest anyone and everyone try Best Friend and make a new Best Friend and drink delicious beverages! Yay!!!

This cart has the best juice in all of pdx!!! I went once and instantly got hooked. They have everything you could want from great hot teas, to smoothies, to the most well crafted juice blends ever. And the best part? It’s the cheapest prices I have ever seen for juice/​smoothies in all of my days as a juice crazed portlander. Each drink is made fresh with the finest ingredients, a true example of eating to heal your body!
If you’re in the mood for a sweet treat they have the AMAZING Margalaxy moon bars! Raw treats have never tasted like such a perfect indulgence. They satisfy all cravings while fueling you with the best of nutrients. A must try!
Every time I part ways with the cart, the customer service alone calls me right back. Not only is it made quickly and expertly, but it is made by the friendliest of folk! The owners are just the kindest people. You can really feel their loving demeanor towards each individual, unspokenly inviting you to kick back on their beautifully carved bench and enjoy delicious juice, delectable Margalaxy bars and dear conversation.
I’m slowly working my way through their menu, even though its hard not to order the same goodness again and again. Each drink is wonderful in its own way. Many even have unique beautiful garnishes of different spices on top! And did I mention they make their own nondairy cashew-​almond milk!?! It truly doesn’t get better…
All in all: Best friend juice cart truly is my new best friend. Try it and I know you’ll agree.

The service was friendly, knowledgable, and gracious. Service was quick, there were a couple of larger parties before us and we still got our juice in minutes.

So like most people I think organic food is great! So ya want a whole bunch of goodness with a five star presentation and no mess, hassle or waste, meet Best Friends! My favorite part is the customer service which is just as delightful as the favor you’re about to do your body by inviting one of their enchanting elixirs to wow you!
Also they sell the exclusively delicious Margalaxy bars!!!

I was lucky to visit Best Friend during their soft opening. This adorable new cart is nestled next to Genies, facing Division. They offer several fresh made juices and smoothies, as well as coffees and some other unique healthy beverages. I ordered their namesake drink «the best friend» — it’s super yummy! I think the pineapple takes it to the next level.
The prices are very reasonable, less than the other juice spots I frequent. Even though it was opening day and I got there during a rush, my juice was ready within a few minutes.
The owners are incredibly sweet, you can tell a lot of love went into this. Darling details like cute paper straws and they were actually playing vinyl records for music! And that logo is just too dang cute. I’m smitten with my new Best Friend…
update: I can’t stop visiting! the golden milk elixir is a MUST TRY, tumeric cashew milk and lots of yummy spices and honey. never had anything like it before. a perfect warm-​up on a chilly day.
