not an overly friendly or receptive owner, manager. It got my ice cream-two scoops on a waffle cone for 5.74. Fairly clean, unoffensive shop. Lots of fun flavors to pick from. The gal at Nordstrom said their are unique in that they send their proceeds to a charity. I couldn’t tell, seemed like a usual 31 Flavors. Still good.

A very average Baskin Robbins. It is rather small, so it makes it difficult to hang out there if you go with a group bigger than 3. The store was clean and the atmosphere was definitely Portland: hard-core metal music blaring from a radio behind the counter. For me, that was the best part of the experience: head bang while enjoying my pink cherry ice cream. The employees were very friendly and attentive. They were also fast, taking care of a steady flow of customers very efficiently. I got the vibe that the employees enjoyed working there and with each other. The ice cream itself was mediocre, after all this is a chain. I don’t necessarily hold that against a place, but after having some local stuff you really can’t compare. Overall, a place I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit, but would stop in if I was in the area and in the mood for generic ice cream in general.

This store closes at 8pm, we arrived at 8pm. The door was open and we entered but the young woman behind the counter refused to serve us. She said she had already put everything away for the night and was closing up; she was just finishing wiping everything down and would be locking the door in a few minutes. Sure enough, at about 8:03 she and a young man(I assume it was her boyfriend) came out, locked the door and walked away. It only takes 3 minutes to put everything away, close the register, clean the whole store, etc? I am guessing that she started closing before 8pm even came around because she wanted to leave. This is EXTREMELYPOOR customer service. I think it is ridiculous that she couldn’t be bothered to be a couple minutes late for her date to serve a few kids who had waited all day for ice cream. I will not make an effort to return to this store on my next visit to Portland.

It’s a crummy-looking corporate ice-cream hole-in-the-wall joint. Screaming children, drug addicts, disgruntled workers — you name it. But I will never ever in my life tire of Gold Medal Ribbon, the best ice-cream flavour to ever live. It’s cheap, there’s never a line, and it’s right next to all your standard boring downtown offices. There you go!

We stopped in on my Birthday 10 minutes before closing time to get a few scoops. There wasn’t anything wrong with the ice cream, it was just the same as I remembered as a kid, but the guy behind the counter was a major grumperpuss and could not have made it any more clear that we needed to pick our flavors and get out asap! Next time I want an ice cream treat, I will pick a scoop shop with friendlier folks.

For me Baskin Robbins only holds one item that I order– the mint chocolate chip shake. I appreciate their small size is relatively small. This location was sort of tucked away, but the ice cream technician made my shake well… not too thick, not too liquidy.

I don’t do well in the heat and it’s been unusually warm for Portland. So, as I’m wilting along the sidewalk towards Pioneer Place, out of nowhere I see the beacon of blue & pink neon lights guiding me into this bastion of cold goodness. A small scoop of mint chocolate chip later, I was feeling less deflowered and ready to hit the mall. Oh yeah, the owner was super friendly too!

I’m a sucka for ice creams. I love ice creams. I’m an ice creams addict. I can eat ice cream for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I could. This downtown Baskin Robbins shop provides me with 31 flavors of ice creams and their location is so convenient. It’s on my way to and from work. Very tempting to stop by here and get a scoop of Jamoca or Pistachio every time I’m in downtown. The people who own this shop are very friendly as well. They always serve your scoops with smile. Ice cream + smiles = totally sweet.
