What happened to Baja Fresh? I used to visit these stores back in the day. Today I went and now I know why I haven’t been here in forever! I won’t be going back. My husband and I ordered a steak burrito Ultima and 2 sides of these new nacho deals. They gave us complimentary chips. They used to be warm and flavorful. What happened? These were cold and flavorless. The salsa bar used to taste fresh. What happened? And then when the burrito came out it was chicken not steak. I took it back and they made us a steak one so round and filled with rice that it couldn’t be held to eat. We used a fork and a knife to eat it and it was cold? How was it cold? And seriously where was the beef? I was supper disappointed. What happened to the whole store smelling like fresh bbq’d meat? And when did they stop serving the grilled green onions with the burritos? Sad sad day! When will Chipotle open back up?

I used to really enjoy coming here. The food was fresh and delicious and the nachos and burritos were so tasty, even my picky kid liked it. But recently the food has been cold and gloppy and tasteless. It looks and tastes like it was just reheated from hours before. For the price I’m paying, which is not too bad actually, I expect edible food.

This is a good go to in a pinch. The food is fresh, but it is on the pricey side for what you get. I like the salsa bar. The restaurant was clean. There is outside seating — nice option on a warm day. You can get better, more authentic mexican at smaller local joints.

I have eaten at this location many times, most of the time it has been a good experience. However recently we had decided to get the fiesta platter from them for a backyard party we were hosting. We talked to the manager, and he said we should come by the day before and they would take care of us. When we arrived to place the order the staff was NOT helpful. they apparently can not do anything without their manager. The girl at the counter sent us away she did take our phone number, but that’s all she took. she would not take our order, this left us feeling like we should go to another location… which we did. The manager at the 205 location is always great, helpful and friendly to bad his employees don’t follow his lead.

The food here is overpriced for what you get. You can get a better taco for a third of the price of one taco. The food here is actually pretty decent. That’s not why I gave this place one star. The manager was shady and mean to his employee. I ordered a side of chips and a side of rice and beans. He over charged me by a dollar and a half and when I questioned it he said it was because he gave me a large bowl to use at their complimentary salsa bar. I did get a refund on the difference I was overcharged. But how many people are overcharged here and don’t notice? I never asked for a large bowl or was informed I’d have to pay extra. Basically I was told that unless I paid extra I’d only get the Baja sauce and couldn’t use the salsa bar. Well the sign says chips and salsa. Not Baja sauce. But I’m not going to be extorted into paying more for the privilege of using something that’s supposed to be free. So I just suffered with chips and Baja sauce and will not be returning here. When he put in my order he started to get unnecessarily demanding with the employee. «give me a plate. Just give me the plate. Give me the plate now!» I felt that asking please and saying thank you works wonders and doesn’t make me wonder how you treat your employees behind closed doors. The side of rice and beans was a really large amount for what I paid and was rather tasty. But unfortunately due to the rest of my experience it just wasn’t enough.

My organization had been ordering food from this joint for over a year. The clients liked it and it was convenient. I had also been picking up the food. large orders $ 150.00. Every time I went in there dude acted brand new like who are you lady? Over a year we ordered food 150.00 bi-weekly, never called me by name… Very sad. Final straw, I placed the order with our corp. card over the phone. Got there and dude wanted to see the card. Over a year we ordered food 150.00 bi-weekly, I didn’t have the card so after a heartless effort to resolve, his solution was for me to use my personal credit card and get reimbursed! I had a room full of folks waiting so I did it and guess what I’ve never been back since. Lousy customer service and not the front staff but the management.

Baja Fresh is a national chain that sort of occupies a niche between small local taquerias and sit-down casual Mexican restaurants. I like to try a variety of things, so I ordered three different styles of tacos with three different meats. «Americano Style» tacos come on grilled flour tortillas with lettuce, tomato, and cheese. I had this style with carnitas. Pretty good, but it would have been nice if the meat was browned just a bit on the grill. «Baja Style» comes on grilled corn tortillas with onions and cilantro, and is the customary style that I usually get at the small taquerias around town. I had this style with steak, and the steak was nice and browned.. .but seemed a bit too chewy. The fish tacos are a style of their own, with cabbage, pico de gallo, and avocado. I had grilled fish and it was really good. The fish had a nice flaky texture. I like to squeeze some lime onto my tacos, and I was disappointed they didn’t have any lime wedges(as they should have). They had lemon wedges instead.. .WHAT? However, service is efficient and friendly, and the place is clean. So, maybe I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there to get some tacos, but I’d definitely go there if I happened to be nearby.

We’re hoping that this was an «off day» for this Baja Fresh store. Sweetie and I have supped here once or twice a month for a couple of years. It ranges from being«pretty okay» to «quite good». Not the last visit. The store had few customers when we came in; followed by many after us. The wait was as expected. Desirae(163) is the delightful, energetic server who took our order. The food quality was poor. The«Fresh» pico de gallo on the Salsa Bar tasted as if were made that morning — hours old. Same«old» tasting salsa was used in both of our burritos and deluxe nachos. The guacamole was hastily made, with bit of skin left in it – so much for a large order of the«fresh» premium product. We ordered two(2) Baja Chicken burritos. Both were served cold. The chicken meat inside was cold, with a dried-out texture, and smelled«old». The pico de gallo wasn’t fresh, as mentioned. The Chicken Nachos was about a «7» out of «10» — the best food item we purchased that day — yet, dressed with«old» pico de gallo. After we choked down our cold burritos(at $ 7.19 each) and Assistant Manager came out to our table, because we’d complained to the server. After spending more than $ 25 for a cold, unappetizing dinner, the only way the Assistant Manager could«make it right» with us was to PROMISE that she would make sure our food was PROPERLY prepared, when we come back, «next time». Shouldn’t all meals be properly prepared? Does Baja Fresh really limit their Assistant Manager’s ability that severely to «make things right»? To them, it seems like we were just another«ticket». To us, they were our supper. Not good. There are a number of fast, casual and full service restaurants in the Gateway/Mall 205 area. All it takes is giving a few«regulars» a bad supper, and it won’t take long to be out of business.

I would’ve given 3 stars because it’s kind of healthier food and somewhat better quality ingredients. However, it’s far from Mexican food and this place could be kept a lot cleaner than it is. They load their burritos with way too much pico de gallo and I think this is why the burritos often seem like they’re lukewarm. The PDG is cold and chills everything it comes into contact with. It could also be that they pre-grill/cook their proteins and reheat them quickly for service. Not certain they do this but it’s likely. They often over-char their meats too so you get an occasional mouthful of charcoal with every meal. That’s a guarantee. The salsa bar is cool and although they are watered down for the Anglo palette they add some flavor to the otherwise neutral tasting food. I doubt they make them fresh everyday though, so I’m a little frightened to imagine how long they keep them or how they store them but any fast food joint conjures up similar hygienic concerns. Speaking of hygiene, I once saw one of the ‘managers’ mixing a large batch of some kind of chopped salad with plastic gloves on. In the middle of doing so he was called to the register for help entering a code which he did without removing his gloves. He then immediately returned to hand mixing the salad with the same pair of gloves on! You just can’t teach common sense. Bottom line: it’s healthier, not big on flavor, it ain’t cheap and the hygiene of the employees is questionable.

Crappy freakin Mexican food! I hadn’t been in years and decided to go back… why on earth did I do that? For one they’re overpriced They charge chipotle prices for shitty food it is not worth it. Our food was cold, nothing was flavorful, customer service sucked it was not good do not go there. You better off going to a authentic Mexican food cart

I thought the food was pretty mediocre. My burrito didn’t have much in the way of flavor, and when I agreed to add a side of chips to my order, I got a tiny little basket with maybe a dozen tortilla chips inside. They make a big deal about their«salsa buffet» with all the different choices, but what’s the point if I can only sample them with one chip per dip? It wasn’t a bad meal, but I don’t think I’ll come back. It’s worth the extra drive to Chipotle for a better burrito, and a vastly better choice in drinks.

Went to Baja fresh for the first time in a few years and ordered a steak burrito. Store was clean. Service was fine. It was served luke warm, which is probably just as intended. I didn’t really like it and it cost about $ 8. I wouldn’t have liked it for $ 3.After having been spoiled by the authentic food at various food cart kiosks, I couldn’t enjoy Baja Fresh anymore.

Another chain on the fast casual wheel of places I can return to. I wanted a different place for lunch around where I work and when one only has a half an hour, one walks close by. I’ve been to Subway too many times and the conveyor belt sushi places doesn’t open till after 11. My lunch is around 10:30am ish. This is what happens when one works at 6am. I’ve seen Baja Fresh around other places but never ventured in. The highlight for me? The SALSABAR! Mild to hot, pickled jalapenos, little hot peppers, limes, cilantro, pico de gallo(although it was very much lacking onions) and all you could want over there. And you can keep going back for more and more and still more. The specials they were touting on this visit were the fish tacos(insert innuendo here) and the new carnitas. I went with a carnitas burrito. You have options on your burrito as well. basic meat and cheese choice, with veggies option and one that had too much going on with tortilla chips and sour cream(a little too gimicky Taco Hell type stuff for me) I did the basic with meat, cheese and guacamole. Without all the veggies it was a bit small, but the taste was pretty good. I’d have liked a little more spice in the carnitas rub itself. I’ve had some spicy ones, and I’ve made spicier ones. The meat was tender and the burrito was good as well as the chips they gave me to start. As I stated earlier, I’d go back. I like the signage all over the place with«No Can Openers» and all the freshness that they use. No freezers, no microwaves. I can respect a chain that wants you to know that even though they are a fast casual option, you are still going to get a fairly healthy one at that. Enjoy.

A chain restaurant… Food is unoriginal and lukewarm. Pork was so salty I couldn’t eat it. Burrito was nothing but lukewarm salty meat and pico de gallo. No cheese, no guacamole, no veggies… This place is really a waste of $ 10. Even the free chips were stale :(

I’m not overly impressed but usually satisfied for a quick lunch bite. I grab a quick chicken salad and am rarely disappointed. Always clean and friendly and for a chain it’s good. I’m not a «fast food» fan but can’t avoid needing a quick bite now and then and if there is a Baja close by I might just stop by.

I ordered food online from the Baja Fresh website and then pick ed up my order at this location. I was charged for my food online and at this location four weeks ago. I have called Baja Fresh numerous times and have been promised that my money will be refunded and I still have not received a refund after four weeks. Wow why the heck don’t I come here more often? I work just a couple miles from this location and am at the nearby Target at least once a month. Last week I was majorly craving salsa and needed to grab a quick dinner on the way to an evening meeting so I stopped in. I hadn’t been to a BF in years and wasn’t sure what to order. The man behind the counter was very helpful, explaining the difference between some of the items. I asked what vegetarian dish is most popular and he replied«Everything can be made vegetarian!» Major points there! I ended up with a veggie burrito which was mega delish. I forgot all about the self-serve salsa bar. Woohoo! I filled little containers of 3 different kinds. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Hopefully I can dine in and make the most of the salsa! Great bang for my buck, too.

Let me start by saying that I really like Baja Fresh for an affordable meal on the go and I eat there quite often. It is much better for you than McDonalds, Burger King or Taco Bell and is at a very similar price. This location(just off of Washington near Home Depot) is a complete fail in every way. I do not recommend going there, EVER! For the past 10 years I have ordered(nearly every single time I go) the same thing. Some places just have a ‘thing’ that you like. I order the Tres Tacos meal. It comes with 3 tacos and a small side of guacamole for $ 6.95. About a year or so ago, they took it off of their menu board, but the normal locations I go told me they still have a button for it and can still give me the same meal. I order it as normal and there is never a problem at THREE different locations. Not at this one! They charge me for each individual taco and did not give me my guac, so I am paying more, for less. I even explained what I usually do and the manager was extremely rude to me(The one with the lisp. I don’t care about a lisp, but for identification purposes…) and said they can’t do that for me. I was irritated but paid the extra $ 1.50 for what I wanted. I get diablo salsa on my tacos, instead of hot or mild and the jerk charged me fifty cents for that too! NOOTHERLOCATIONDOESTHIS! This horrific establishment wouldn’t even punch my punch card that other locations do. They said they have their own punch cards but were out. W T F?! On top of that, I don’t drink soda so I asked for a water cup and they give me this stupid little dixie cup that holds approximately a sip of water. I asked for a bigger cup so I could take it to go and he tried to get me for another 30 cents. At that point I was livid and not giving them any more money. The whole time he is rolling his eyes at me when I ask him for these things and trying to up-sell me on other items, «Are you sure you don’t want a side of queso or a bigger water cup?» like he was rubbing salt in the wound. He rolled his eyes again and looked at me like I was putting him out for asking for a few more chips after he put like 5 in my little tray. How bout 1 more thing before I end this rant, and this one proves the cheapness of this joint. Baja Fresh has hands down some of the best napkins of any fast food restaurant. They are large and and well made. This location, however is(again) the only location that does not have them. They downgraded from Baja Fresh’s standard napkins to that of a gas station knock off. You know, the kind that when you wipe your face break up and end up sticking to your upper lip?! OWNERS!!: Your location is a fail and you do not seem to value your customers. Stop being so cheap and get on board like the other locations. I personally spend a lot of money at Baja Fresh, but NEVER at your location again! I will be telling everyone I know to never go there. Where is your integrity as human beings? I don’t like establishments who try to burn their customers for a few cents… The one star(that I am forced to give) is allotted to the young brunette manager type girl you have working there. She was very friendly and does her job with a smile on her face. You are lucky to have at least one person working there that knows how to treat people.

I was craving a tostada salad the other day for some reason, so I ended up going to Baja Fresh since it’s super close to my apartment. I got the tostada salad without meat, and it was about $ 6. Pretty huge serving, and the guacamole that came with it was really tasty. I liked their free salsa bar as well. The tostada shell wasn’t crispy though, which was a bummer. Overall, pretty decent! Don’t expect to get authentic Mexican food though, but you probably already knew that.

Just your standard American burrito and taco joint-with some salads thrown in for good measure. The chicken ensalade is pretty good, and comes in at under 19 grams of fat 9(as long as you use the verda salsa as dressing, not ranch). Last Friday I ordered the Diablo burrito-I have never hated myself more. This burrito is huge, and I ate half. Although I got a to go bag, I ended up throwing the damn thing away. Food me once, shame on me. Fool me twice…
