Feel a bit led astray by other Unilocal reviews. This place was totally forgettable. Sure the bartenders were friendly, but the vibe was kind of weird inside(read: depressing) and the happy hour wine was pretty awful. Thought we’d try something different and after a quick drink fled as quickly as possible. By the looks of it perhaps others found it forgettable too, as it’s currently closed for apparently a management change. Here’s hoping a new fantastic bar comes of it.

I just spent the evening at B squared watching the The blazer game against the Toronto Raptors, we had the chicken avocado bacon Panini which was awesome also we had the Gorgonzola burger slider which was incredible, the executive chef Jaz L. Puts out incredible food. The staff there is incredible and very attentive to your needs while you’re in there establishment, Jordan and Katie manage B squared and are two incredible people, and Jared the bartender makes a mean drink. I will be back for dinner and a game and cocktails many many more times. And if you go to the other side of the building you can get a mean cup of coffee at the B squared coffee haus.

I love B2! It’s my new go-to spot for after work R&R. The food is wonderful! It’s amazing what Jez(the great chef) can do in a tiny kitchen!), the wine is awesome and most of all everyone that works there are good people trying to make B2 a great place! Jordon & Katie who are the managers are the best!

Was recommended to B Squared by Portland friends for a birthday party I wanted to host. We were coming in from out of town and planning was made easy due to the awesome staff. Adam, Katherine and Jordan were terrific help. They made great recommendations on a menu, gave choices on cupcakes for our party(amazing desserts!), and pulled the whole party off for me terrifically. The food was brought out throughout the party with a bit of description on what it was for the benefit of our guests. Each dish was fantastic. Great variety. The bacon wrapped dates were a wonderful surprise. The whole evening was a great success for the birthday boy and the guests thanks to the accommodating staff, Thank You!

Came in here for lunch and I had the lobster bisque and the shrimp ceviche tacos. The lobster bisque was sweet and buttery and spiced perfectly. The ceviche tacos were well seasoned and were a good cold complement to the hot bisque. The service was quick, attentive, and friendly. They had quite a few food and new drink specials going on and they were all reasonably priced, even for NW Portland standards. I had their garnacha and Bordeaux as well. I lived in Spain for four years and it was just as good as I remembered drinking over there. I would definitely come back with friends!

With an eclectic menu and amazing staff. Tending to my picky tendencies, the chef whose name I found out was Bea, much like the restaurant«B Squared» was accommodating and made a wonderful Mac n’ cheese.

An amazing find! The food was reasonably priced and our bartender Kaitlyn was friendly and wonderful. I have walked by this place a hundred times since it open and have never tried it until today. My friend and I are kicking ourselves for not coming here in sooner. Don’t wait! Highly recommend!

What a great surprise! The wine selections are excellent and I was impressed with how good they were. The décor was a little boring, but the quality of the food and service made up for it. They recently changed the food menu a bit and it was pretty amazing. Everything is fresh and well thought out. Happy hour is S great deal too and the have a full service bar and some good beers on tap. I will definitely be back!

Great hidden place if you are looking for a good happy hour that isn’t crowded. The bartenders are nice everytime we are there. They made a happy hour version of a menu item we wanted, which was very accomodating. Wouldn’t drive across town to go here. It’s one of those places we go to because we live a couple blocks away.

So, The first time I came here with my girlfriend I was not impressed. Since then, the staff has gathered feedback from us as customers and ultimately crafted a delicious variety of wine, food and cocktails. The environment is very comfortable, big windows great lighting and plenty of space! The staff is accommodating and friendly! This bar is one of the best kept secrets in Portland!

When I first came here, I wanted to love it. But I didn’t. In fact, I hated it. Cut to a few weeks later and now I feel like«a regular». I love it. It’s new, it’s finding its footing. I can understand that it got off to a rocky start. I’m really, really glad that it has found its stride. The bartenders are friendly and engaging. The atmosphere is romantic, yet laid back. The food. The food has absolutely won me. Get the pulled pork sandwich, you won’t regret it. I love having a place in NW Portland that makes me feel welcome and this place totally has done that for me. My boyfriend and I come here weekly and it has definitely become«our spot» — makes it easy when we live in the building, directly above! Highly recommend! :)

HAPPYHOURREVIEW Happy Hour 3:00 — 6:00pm Daily FOOD $ 3.00-$ 4.00 Excellent menu for any restaurant, but especially for a wine bar. B Squared merits an A+ rating with delicious, healthy and plentiful food that includes sliders(pork, bison, lamb), three salad choices(big ones!), soup of the day, and a special $ 7.00 flatbread. DRINKS $ 3.00 drafts; $ 4.00 wine; $ 5.00-$ 7.00 cocktails ATMOSPHERE Open space with friendly, full bar. Giant walls of windows reach high to the ceiling, and deep red walls add character and warmth. They have a coffee shop in same building. Makes me want to move into the apartments above!

This place is laid back and wonderful. Really nice local wine list. The happy hour specials are great. And they let you know right before happy hour is over so you can place a last order.

I thought I would give this wine bar, B squared,(looks like B2) a shot as I was killing time last night and was most pleasantly surprised. It has an understated sophisticated ambiance and a superb location between the pearl district and the bustle of NW21st&23rd, and I found some moments of serenity over a glass of wine. The house Pinot Gris was spectacular and I began to realize that every part of this establishment was built on passion. The owner cultivates the grapes, the cook was knowledgable, ardently explaining each dish with pride. The sliders were incredible and the crème brûlée sounded amazing, I will have to try that on my next visit. All in all, just a wonderful little place, plenty of seating, a good place to bring my girlfriends or a date:) The only thing I would add is some live music, maybe ambient guitar(even a classy open mic?). Regardless, I will be a new regular at this friendly hideaway!
