The best lamb gyro I’ve ever had. I’ve been to several of their locations and NEVER been disappointed. The cart on SE Division has the best service, but the one on SE Belmont gives the most meat.

The veggie mezza was awesome! Falafel balls were hot and crisp and there was. Ribbon of olive oil on the creamy hummus. My only complaint was the baba ganoush which seemed to have been prepared with raw garlic and too much salt. Overall a great deal which could be shared by two.

While there are multiple outposts of Aybla Grill on the food truck scene, this seems to be the closest to me, which is of course a mixed curse and blessing. Because when falafel this good is nearby, it puts serious strain on my already very limited self-control. I think I’m just going to have to suck it up and deal, because it’s seriously bomb-tastic. Big, warm falafels swaddled in a nice flatbread with tahini sauce and the option to make it spicy. The super falafel(take regular and point a growth-ray-gun at it) is honestly enormous, and try as I did I just couldn’t finish it all(and I am usually very stubborn about finishing my food, so we’re talking serious bang for buck here!) All-in all – especially taking into account the friendly service – I’ve found my local falafel fix.
We tried their food for the first time this past weekend at the Portland Romani festival in sellwood. My husband says that it is the best falafel he has ever had. I had the XL gyro and it was amazing. The sauce is so perfect. We will be seeking out Aybla grill carts from now on!
