I came to this sandwich shop earlier this week to pick up lunch for the office. The staff was very nice and the order was out very quickly. I had the roast beef, which was good. I’m not sure the prices matched the quality of food. The meat was decent and they did put quite a lot on, but I was not as pleased with the iceberg lettuce. I just felt like it was not worth the price in the end. Cool location inside an old building though.

I tried this place for a bite to eat after missing my bus home to St. John’s. I had the whole pepper jack and avocado tuna melt sandwich with a side of pasta salad. The sandwich was actually pretty decent! It had lots of tuna with a generous amount of cheese and avocado. The sandwich was grilled evenly on both sides without heaping amounts of butter like a lot places tend to do. The pasta salad was good as well. I did think the price was a tad high. About 10 bucks with a soft drink but that’s pretty much the average anywhere you go outside of a restaurant chain. I can tell they use quality ingredients and the service was great which made it more worth it. I would come back there again and try other sandwiches they serve if in the neighborhood!

Cool little deli. Got a bowl of chili and a club sandwich. Chili was average but the sandwich was awesome. If I’m back in portland someday I’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I have been here twice now. Not only is the service great — very likable staff — but the food is fantastic! Aunt Tillie’s will now be our go-to place whenever we go to Hollywood Theatre. Aunt Tillie’s doesn’t try to be anything trendy. It’s just really great food with really great service. Oh, and the music and artwork are always fun. Plus, they have RC and Squirt at the fountain, if you’re feeling nostalgic.

The place is funky and tucked out of the way in 42nd Street Station. The sandwiches are fantastic, the salads are all homemade, and the service is great.

Wow, this isn’t Subway or Port of Subs that’s for sure! Coming in a just little higher priced(my «whole» sandwich was $ 6.95) but the quality here is 100x that of subway. The quality of their deli sandwiches take me right back to NY they’re that good. The bread was so soft and just good. The meats were quality. They used just the right amount of mayo as to not over power the taste of everything. This place is tucked away in the corner of the old 42nd St train stop(I think). There’s an antique store on what looks like the whole under ground floor. There’s a few other useless stores in here like a technology teaching school or something. There’s a few small tables to eat at. There is a tiny bar attached to the deli which makes this a great place to grab a sandwich and a beer. The bar area then has a slot machine room attached to it. No happy hour here but pints are $ 4.50 and Coors draft for $ 3.00(if you dare). They’ve got some bottled beers as well(not sure on pricing)

Good Grub here. This quirky deli is tucked away in a Vintage Mall on NE42 in the Hollywood district. It’s been here since 1984, although it feels more like 1954. Honest to goodness hearty sandwiches that satisfy the sandwich lover. The deli has plenty of seating, a lottery room, and a small bar. Service is sufficient and friendly. Couple of TVs perched in the corner featuring baseball for the moment. 6 taps of local draft beer. I had the Occidental Kolsch. It was a good match for my Aunt Tillie’s Special sandwich. The sandwich was definitely filling — a soft hoagie, salami, lettuce, tomato, cheese, to name a few toppings. I took half home. Prices are reasonable $ 4.95 for a half, $ 7.95 for a full. Most of the super loyal patrons are of the elder generation, so cute.

I had a grilled cheese(2 cheeses — yay!) which was fantastic. I loved the potato salad too. It’s a very casual deli that seems to cater to the working people in the neighborhood. It was very quick and the people are really friendly.

Cool location in the Hollywood district of Portland, plays 50 – 60’s Motown sound, has a sandwich shop, mini bar and and game room and seems to be stuck in 1984, but no where near Orwell’s vision… ATDP’s food has great flavors, in addition to fresh French Rolls, they use quality deli meat and produce and have a firm understanding of a variety of seasonings besides the standby of S&P, they display it with the jazziest macaroni salad I can remember eating, slight tinges of dill and I dare say coriander? Don’t skip this hidden jewel it’s a 5⁄5 for delis!

This place is the real deal you guys. Sitting here eating a delicious and satisfying sandwich, I feel like I am literally siting in history. Like the set of Call the Midwives or something. From the no-nonsense counter lady taking no bull to the package of two saltines with my soup and the dark wood chairs… I love this place and will be back next time I’m out here to browse at Small Fry Consignment.

I was going to the Post Office in this Older fashioned Hollywood area mall when I could smell some delicious aromas of steak coming from somewhere. I noticed a restaurant sign reading their special of the day Hot Roast Beef sandwich for $ 7.95, I couldn’t resist. I had half of the hot roast beef sand that came with a good amount of delicious provolone with chipotle mayo and a cup of split pea soup for $ 6.95. Then a glass of Pinot noir for $ 4. I love this place! It’s like stepping back in time with prices and quality homemade food. And it’s super fast! The prices, quality and speed are far impressive! If I lived close by, I would frequent here as much as possible. Such a Ma and Pa style gem. Two different kind of soups, several pastas, sandwich and dessert options that I could see. Come in and support this place to insure it is still around the next time I’m in the area!

Nice little joint tucked away. Looks like the old school local dive/diner places I have back home. They have sandwiches, soup, bagels and some cooled food like potato salad. No fryer I don’t think since no fries on the menu(I’ll post a menu picture) but plenty variety of chips and drinks. I had the Reuben because I always get that from a sand which joint to judge them by and see if I’ll come back. It was delicious, the meat was thin and tender and a perfect amount of meat vs sauerkraut. The thousand island tasted homemade but just a tad too sweet for me. I also got the potato salad and that was unexpectedly amazing I’m used to generic potato salad at places like this but it was clearly house made with great seasoning. Also sandwhich came with pickle spear. Price of large drink, sandwhich, and side was 9.45 but they have specials for 6.50 which is half sandwhich and soup. I couldn’t finish my sandwhich so I think the special would be plenty to fill someone up. They also have beer and free wifi! I’ll be back to visit!

These guys make a mean BLT. The Ruben and the Rachel are good choices, too. Very consistent deli-style sandwiches and salads. No frier, so expect chips only. A throw-back gem in Hollywood!

«Stumbled» over from next door by chance and was pleasantly surprised. Deli Don is whippin up some classic cuts. Good subs, good beers on tap, and good people to chat with. What else ya need? If you don’t like this place, you don’t deserve a sandwich, haha.

LOVE this place! My husband and I recently moved to the Hollywood District. We happened upon this adorable Deli one time on our way to or from the Farmer’s Market. We were pleasantly surprised by the selection of sandwiches and beer. Been there many times since. I usually order the vegetarian sandwich which comes with lots of veggies and cheese and a side pickle spear. My husband will usually order the special. The owner is amazing, always comes over and talks with us. He makes everything from scratch, all of the salads, cookies, etc. This has become almost a routine stop for us on Saturdays with or without the Farmer’s Market. Highly recommended if you like that kind of old school sort of Deli which is hard to fine anymore anywhere.
