Can’t I leave a 0-​star review?
First off, this is a corporate chain. This is not a single business. Other branches may or may not be better. I don’t think any could really be worse…
I responded to an ad on craigslist and got an email back saying «I’m not sure what that job is, but I’d love to interview you for my staffing agency.»
I interviewed with them (and filled out a ton of forms), and they told me I would be so easy to hire for … and then I didn’t hear from them for weeks, despite multiple phone calls and sending in multiple jobs I was interested in, as they asked me to.
3 weeks later, I got a phone call out of the blue from a different agent who had no idea that I’d ever interviewed with the agency. He offers me a job for $ 20/​hr, a big step up from the other temp job I had in pay, and I bite. I never hear from him again and was shuffled to another guy who I’d never talked to before.
That alone is enough to say they’re pretty disorganized.
Turns out the timeline, the requirements for the job, the type of job, and most importantly the pay, are all pretty far off from the truth.
It was a true bait and switch. These people should be run out of town.
Hands down, the most unprofessional bunch of clowns I’ve ever «worked» with.
They either outright lied to me, kept their reps in the dark so they would make up answers, or are just terribly disorganized.

I have had a wonderful experience with AppleOne.
Everyone in the office is really friendly and I really feel like they are looking out for my best interests when it comes to helping me find the perfect job.
I get feedback and emails from them and the line of communication is wonderful.

These people are cruel !. Don’t get yourself fooled for how nice they are (yes they´re really nice people).
I´m a Brazilian I. T specialist, former IBM employee, multilingual and internationally experienced. I´ve been living in the USA for 2 years now, but just a couple of months ago I was allowed to legally work.
Being in a different country with a different culture and language, by itself, is already something that can be overwhelming, however, not getting a job after so many tries can be even worse and takes away one´s confidence.
AppleOne called me yesterday at 1 p. m, offering me a Data Analyst position (that I have applied a day before on Craigslist, as a genuine job offer from a company and NOT a temp. agency job) and scheduled a «JOB INTERVIEW» for today.
I was really happy, with the feeling that «finally this nightmare is coming to an end». Set up my resume, reviewed my references, dressed my best suit, and shaved. I was so excited.
They asked me to fill out a form that LITERALLY took me 2 hours to complete, that I felt really invasive. They asked me everything about my personal, social and professional life. Afterwards another 2 forms that took me about 45 more minutes to complete.
After all of it, I was taken to this room with this fellow who told me: «Unfortunately I just heard from the client that they´re holding the position and wont hire you for now, but we will let you know if we have something for you». LESS THAN 24 HOURS AFTER THEY“VE TOLD ME THEY HAD A JOB POSITION FOR ME!
Long story short. I´m broken, lost my confidence, feeling like someone played me and played my faith. I hold that nobody should ever do this kind of thing and play with people´s hope and weaknesses while using the bad situation that one can be, in order to take vantage of them… I really hope they never get in to this situation, cause it can be very painful.
meanwhile, if you don’t want to go through it, yourself. STAY AWAY! These people are a big rip off.

My experience with Apple One, so far, has been excellent.
Everyone is very pleasant to work with. My interactions via email and in person have been very supportive. The staff has made me feel like I’m more than just a random person in their pool of applicants. I feel like they are working hard to match my skills with the openings that they have.
I have worked with 2 different recruiters at the downtown location. They both respond quickly to my emails and phones calls. I would definitely refer friends/​relatives to this agency.

I used AppleOne a few years ago when I had just moved back from college and was looking for a job. After going through a questionnaire that seemed to take forever, they finally took me back to meet with me, saying the only job they had for me was in a factory making ID badges for minimum wage. I reiterated to them that I’d just graduated from college, and had 6 months experience doing admin work in the legal field, but he assured me this was all I qualified for. Needless to say, I declined.
About two weeks later I found a much better job on craigslist. I called AppleOne and told them not to consider me for any jobs because I’d found a job that suited me better. The guy I’d met with was not happy, and said I must have lied to him and gone to them in bad faith by using another job agency. But again, I’d found it on craigslist. In the middle of the conversation he hung up on me.
As an epilogue of sorts (and what prompted me to write this review, since I hadn’t even thought of that episode in a while), they called me about a week ago asking if I was still looking for a job. I was stunned; I was like «Umm, no I’ve been in the same place for a few years now…» and after a bit of back and forth, they realized they were holding the wrong resume and had meant to call someone else. Terrific.

This place is a joke. You have to take multiple outdated questionnaires about email comprehension before you actually speak to anyone.
Once I actually got through an hour’s worth of that, «Cindy» set me up with an interview for a local tech-​savvy office gig. Huzzah! I go in, it goes well. I call Apple One immediately afterwards (upon their request) to tell them about it. I don’t hear back for a day and a half. Finally, I receive a call from Cindy telling me that the office I went to wanted to bring me back for a second interview.
Super, right? Wrong. A week went by without any word, so I finally called Apple One to check in. I left multiple messages for Cindy, and, when she finally got back to me, she told me that the place I interviewed wasn’t interested.
Considering this was a COMPLETE 180 from what I originally heard, I started to think that maybe this was a communication issue was on Apple One’s end. So I asked for the full name of the woman I interviewed with, so that I could send her a thank-​you card for taking the time to meet with me. Cindy simply responded that «you can send me an email and I will forward it to her».
What a complete waste of time. I still receive emails from them on occasion — they send out requests for sad positions like «horse racing bookkeeper» and «Nordstrom’s inventory help — one night only». Things that REALLY help further your career, right?
Sometimes I wonder if they just copy and post the scam jobs from craigslist.

I used Apple One before in California and had a positive experience, so despite the negative reviews I saw on this site, I decided to give them a try. Christal is my contact there and she is very attentive and enthusiastic. What I really like about this agency over other temp agencies is they care about getting you a job in a field you desire.
After one day with the company they already had job opportunities for me! I would highly recommend Apple One to people seeking work in the Portland area.

This place is a poor excuse for a temp agency, and is what makes people shudder when they think of temping.
Let me say that I applied for a few different positions with them, and received a call back regarding the submission of my resume for these jobs. I scheduled an interview with them, and went in the next day to speak to a representative there. When I got there and inquired about those positions during our discussion, they told me they didn’t have any, but may have some coming up. Wait, what? Based on what I know now from various other people, and what Skylar said down below, AppleOne posts general job descriptions to fatten up their temp database without having an actual job to offer.
The other thing that really annoyed me about this place was that my rep didn’t even seem supportive or hopeful. She basically told me that because the job market was bad I’d have to take an underpaid job which is the only type of legitimate job they seem to supply.
Aside from these two things, this place is just unprofessional. Their demeanor, the depressing office, the outdated videos they make you watch. I have a better chance of finding myself a job in this economy than these «professional» do.

So I went to the Appleone website. I scheduled an interview, started filling out the application. I had to leave the application before I could fill in 75% of the information.
Today, the day before my interview, I went back to the application and started filling the rest out. No sooner had I started this that I got a call.
«Is this Skylar… uh…Skylar L?»
«Yes»
“This is (forgot her name) from Appleone.”
«Oh, hi.»
«Hi. I see here you are looking for an office assistant job?»
«Well, that’s what I was thinking…»
«We’re not hiring for that.»
«Oh. OK. What are you hiring for?»
«Specific jobs.»
«Like what?»
«Like accountants. Things you’re not qualified for. Good bye.»
Please note I hadn’t even filled in the education history yet.
It was a short conversation, but oh so rude.
