I didn’t even know this place closed, but now I do. I wasn’t too thrilled when I dined here last January anyway. The Bouillabaisse seemed rushed and many of the pieces of fish had grit in them that I kept hurting my teeth on. The flavoring was there, but the effort in the meals wasn’t. The atmosphere of the restaurant wasn’t too impressing either. Needless to say, we never went back, and from what I can tell, many other people didn’t either. I’ll be interested to see what replaces this location.

I had my first date here. The Brazini was delicious. It is definitely a memorable spot.

Tried this place for the first time for my moms bday All i can say is that their food here is very plain/dull/bland. Nothing that exciting in terms of flavor. Also on the exp side for food thats not really all that… I can sense their style of cooking is not really messing with their ingredients esp their seafood. Most of their menu items are either grilled, broiled or steamed. I feel as if their cooking is just throwing raw ingredients into fire haha However their ambience is warm and open. It feel as if your eating in a very large living room! Cheers!

We had a nice meal here. We were in a rush — had concert tickets and told the waiter we didn’t have lots of time. But we were hungry and wanted to have a nice dinner. We had a tasty seafood dinner and the service was amazing. Our waiter took good care of us and we got out with just enough time to get to the concert venue.

I went for lunch with my family on a Sunday afternoon with a reservation. The waitress was 45 mins late. The maitre d was a complete jerk and ignored us without even giving us a menu or taking a drink/app order. The heating wasn’t working well. They had a difficult time getting our order right and had to confirm what we ordered twice. We arrived on time for a 1pm res and didn’t finish until 5 pm. A 4 hour lunch. This place is run by inconsiderate amateurs. The food was good but the dining experience isn’t worth it.

Delicious fresh food. Amazing service. A very nice atmosphere. Elegant if you want it to be, casual if you don’t. And very authentic. We’ll definitely be back.

I’m not so sure why this place is getting 3 stars. My family and I have been eating here for years. The food is very good, portions are generous and the price is right. Can’t complain much about the overall experience. Calm chowder and the fresh fish are excellent.

Due to my knee surgery i couldn’t go out to get food. Ordered from this place and an 1,5 hours later delivery guy showed up with food but no water which i was charged for anyway. I previously called after an hour of placing the order, they said he left but delivering food to other people too. The delivery guy told me he just got the order and immediately delivered it to me. GOFIGURE! I couldn’t even eat the food, it was cold and very salty!!!

Just finished dinner with the family at our new favorite place! We had fried calamari, crab cakes, and mussels in white sauce for apps and they were ALLAMAZING!! i The calamari and crab cakes were the best I’ve ever had. I’m 47, son is 15, and daughter is 12. For dinner, wife had the bronzino, I had the striped bass special, my son had the shrimp and steak skewers and our daughter had the chicken skewers. They were all fabulous! Our waiter Mike was very friendly and gave me a piece of chocolate cake on the house to make up for a bit of a wait between the apps and dinner. He also brought some great pita and hummus while we were waiting and that was great too! The ambiance is really nice – it’s situated in an old bank building. Not too noisy and the aroma gets you salivating before any food even arrives. We will definitely be back!!!

I’ve been going to this restaurant for years and it never disappoints. The fish is fresh and good quality. The sides are tasty. One critique is that they might go a bit heavy on the salt, but that’s true of most restaurants. Also, they always have a great selection of desserts — I’m a sucker for baklava.

I have been coming here for years for their«lobster special» that is only offered on certain weeknights. The price has gone up little by little over the years but it is still a great price for an amazing meal. One of the reasons it stands out is because they give you the option to have the lobster«broiled» or «steamed» and in my opinion nothing beats their broiled lobster! I alternate between the greek or villager salads(both good) and usually get the bulgar instead of rice.

I have been to the other Ayhan restaurants and tried this one as well. As with the others, I found this place serving ill prepared food as well. Very disappointing.

Best Greek salad I ever had. Rice and fish a little too salted for my taste but I will go back anyway!

Growing up in Port Washington, I’ve been going to Ayhan’s restaurants my whole life. The ambiance of Fish Kebab is very nice, comfortable and just well done. The food is good, but it always tastes better when I buy a gift certificate on (Fish Kebab is always on it)– it’s usually $ 25 for $ 50 toward your meal or $ 50 for $ 100BUTNOTE there is a minimum you have to spend when you use these certificates, so make sure you plan to eat that amount of food before you go in. TIPS: –Their zucchini latkes were surprisingly good, but only 4 small patties in the order. –New England clam chowder is also good. –Red snapper is good, but usually pricey. –Boston scrod is very hit or miss –Get the bulgar instead of rice –Chocolate mousse came is delicious, when fresh –Ayhan’s makes one of my favorite rice puddings of all time. –They aren’t open for lunch anymore, so dinner only. Overall a nice meal, but definitely too much for what they offer, so go with a coupon.

Ayhan has to be one of my all-time favorite restaurants. For real. I love Ayhan’s. I LOVE seafood and they do it well. I’ve had the tilapia, snapper, salmon, and a few others and they’re great. But my favorite dish of all time has to be the Mediterranean Boullabaise($ 26). It has shrimp a half-lobster clams oysters scod mussels etc. To die for. You should have seen me goin at it eating this meal this past weekend. I was in seafood heaven. I’ve also had the grilled calamari and grilled octopus and they’re all great. Every time we go we get samples of things on the house, and this last time we tried their new french lobster soup(or something like that, not sure). Wait staff is excellent! They remember everyone who goes back and they have all been there for ages. I love Nancy– she has long conversations with us everytime we are there haha. She’s told us all about Ayhan and how successful he has been. Anyway, I LOVEAYHAN’S!!!

There is a reason Ayhan’ restaurants have lasted the test of time. They are consistent and good. Our waiter Sal seemed to take personal pleasure serving our party of eight, all long term patrons. Peer pressure dictated all order from a very decent«early-bird» menu. It was a nice time and a good meal.

Don’t bother making reservations. We made them early in the day and got here on time and they said sorry but we are full. The hostess said that it’s pointless to make a reservation because they don’t hold tables if they have walk-ins. BS! Had the mussels, grilled octopus, sesame salmon and Bronzino… All delicious. Too bad the hostess started it off poorly.

Went here for lunch today. The service was horrible, the waitress acknowledge us after being seated for at least ten minutes. There were no napkins placed on table, Until we were half way through lunch we had to ask. Fruit flies were flying all over our table. Asked for octopus salad, got grilled octopus instead, which tasted like it was cooked with a blow torch. Mediterranean tilapia was good. Soft shell crab was horrible. Asked for mashed potatoes and didn’t receive it at all. The«greek» salad was brown and the vegetables seemed old. There were only four tables of two each and the waitress was running around as if she was so busy. Would never go here again, mainly because of service.

Another Ayhan masterpiece. For any seafood fanatic, this place is worth visiting. With an abundance choice of fresh fish and other seafood choices, this place is not one to disappoint and for the party members not keen on seafood, can get their fix from steak, chicken, and other choices. The seafood kebab platter is delicious and is nicely sized for two to share easily. Being a shrimp fanatic, i tried and loved the coconut shrimp. The plum chutney that accompanies this is amazing. Each time, the chef prepared the fish, it was soft, moist, and delicious. The fresh fish can be ordered in several ways, so choices are a plenty.

Great great great for their freshness and specials. Had a whole grilled pompano made perfect. Their complimentary hummus tastes and feels like it was freshly made right before hitting your table. This is a gem on Port Washington I will frequent when needing grilled fresh fish. Kids menu options are tasty and the grilled squid appetizer was very good.
