Wonderful place to stay with a variety of rooms to fit your needs and budget! My boyfriend and I recently took a weekend trip to Port Townsend, and we really enjoyed Holly Hill. The house is beautiful and located within easy walking distance of downtown. We went with the least expensive room, and it was just right for us. Very warm and comfortable, especially the bed. But the big pluses were the living room– full of comfortable sofas and stocked with port, sherry, cookies, and brownies(don’t miss the brownies) — and breakfast. We spent the afternoon lounging by the fire, grabbing a snack before heading out for the Art Walk and a movie at the Rose(also not to be missed). And breakfast the next morning consisted of juice, coffee, fresh fruit with yogurt sauce, bacon and Apple Cinnamon French Tudding. French tudding is their own creation– a mix of french toast and bread pudding served with syrup and whipped cream– and it is delicious. Nina and Greg are wonderful hosts, and they do a great job of checking in and making you feel at home while giving you space. I would highly recommend Holly Hill! PS Free Wi-Fi was an added bonus we weren’t expecting!

The bed and breakfast ws amazing! service was so polite and very professional, but also very friendly. the food was amazing — awesome treats available all night and coffee/tea bright and early. all the other guests were so polite and charming, wonderful conversation. The best suit is the colonel and it was absolutely amazing. the bed was so soft and huge and welcoming; the shower was big and deep with a high sink. smallish rooms, but i felt it was comfortable. Perfect. worth every penny. Will go back hopefully every year!

Nice property, nice people, good food, great attention to detail. What’s not to like? Holly Hill House is a smaller Victorian(no grand staircase here) with an abundance of charm. This is a B&B with all that this implies. It’s a house, not a hotel. There are no TVs or phones, and no wi-fi. Rooms are small by hotel standards. If you’re curious about what B&Bs are all about, this would be a great place to start. The 5 rooms vary in size, appointments, and price. The room we used(Billie’s) has a comfortable king bed, no great amount of extra room, and a nice view of the bay. There is a modern private bath with a standup shower(you can take historical authenticity too far). Breakfast was fantastic. The first course was a fruit compote with yogurt sauce, the main course was French Toast with a crunchy light cereal/nut coating(sounds weird, tasted fantastic) accompanied by good bacon. Coffee, orange juice, etc. The amount was just right, we didn’t start the day weighed down by a too-rich meal. I was struck by all the little details that made our stay nicer. The hostess is a fantastic baker who leaves out excellent cookies and brownies. There are port and sherry, carafes of hot water(with tea and hot chocolate mixes) and coffee. The bathroom had excellent locally-made soap and lotion, a nightlight and a towelette for removing makeup. The front desk has a selection of books and CDs for guest use, etc. The hosts have clearly thought about what people actually need and use. It is a block off Lawrence, the main drag of Port Townsend’s Uptown district, within a couple of blocks of a couple of good restaurants(Lanza’s and Sweet Laurette’s), a good pub, and an amazing bakery(Pane d’Amore).
