Really enjoyed my time at this house. John was friendly. The angel room was nice the bed comfy. The bath to die for w the jets. The breakfast was very nice. We met a few people which was great. I would go again to their home. I’m happy I didn’t connect to WiFi it gave me time to spend w my hubby and rest. Thanks again.

Beautiful house and garden. Spacious room. Breakfast was healthy, delicious, and LARGE. Owners friendly and very knowledgeable about Pt. Townsend and surrounding area. Décor was charming. Marked down one star because room was not very private(right in front, and people in the street could look in), and it was VERY cold at night. Would have loved some heavier blankets. Also, the shower was TINY.

Location, location location. That was great! I think the B+B was nice. The house is charming and very clean. I liked sitting on the gingham couch sipping coffee in the morning. Everything was so over the top overdone, I found it distracting and cloying. I spent a great deal of time and effort trying to figure out the two things I would eliminate if given a choice. The finalists: The fake flowers(including the tie backs on the lacey curtains) and the stuffed animals. The plates used as décor in the bedroom deserve an honorable mention and well as the worn(not in a Victorian good way) decorative pillows, and don’t get me started on the Mickey Mouse memorabilia. I kept expecting a clown with a bloody knife or a doll that says«mama» in the night. The proprietors were pleasant and the breakfast was a real winner. The crustless quiche and scones were delicious. More importantly, we were gifted the recipes! Glad we came but would probably try another establishment next time.

Average at best. Will not stay there again. Rooms are quite tight. No TV, and the WiFi is very slow. No radio. Garden room was stuffy, thankfully the closet held a very good electric fan. bed OK but very small for a Queen. LIghting mediocre. Claw foot tub nice to look at but dangerousely slippery. Bath has almost no counter space. When booking we made special request for breakfasts as we are ‘no carb’ and the host said he’d look after us. First breakfast OK, with an egg and cheese casarole and ham, 2d day was a meager service of egg in sausage, plus lots of potatoes for three for the carb lovers(one guy of three meals). We found it odd they LOCK the kitchen door when they are not serving-we’ve been to B&Bs in WA and BC and never experienced that. Always access to hot water, coffee makings, the fridge, anything. The hostess said«We don’t do business that way» and huffed out of the dining room. She’s a bit of a sour puss, we decided she’s burned out what with her hubby out peddling real estate every day and her with the cooking and cleaning and such. The place was clean-not the carpet in the garden room. Hostess balked when we asked her to replace the burned out bulb in the night light. So if you’re looking for a cheerful host(s), this is not the place. It’s on the bluff above the town, no views. We can’t recommend but it’s an experience you’ll live through. Price for the room included an extra $ 30/night for the garden sitting area. We got our $ 60 worth in about 3 minutes-it’s off the bathroom and the steps into the garden are covered with vines.

My wife and I stayed one night at Blue Gull Inn B&B. We’ll stay again when our plans call for a visit to Port Townsend. John and Renee e-mailed us with information about Port Townsend and driving instructions to get to the Inn. Very thoughtful. We stayed in the Angel Room which is up a slightly daunting flight of stairs. Wrestling a large bag up or even worse, down, those stairs could be a challenge for some. Choose a room on the first floor instead. While the sleeping room is a bit small, the bath is enormous, with a whirlpool tub. The bed was comfortable with large, cushy pillows. The window in the Angel room overlooks a lovely garden. Nice. And then there’s breakfast. Should be all caps. Wonderful meal, consisting of «overnight French toast,» fruit parfait, chicken and spinach sausage, scrambled eggs, orange juice and all the coffee or selection of teas that you can stand, served with grace and courtesy. Don’t miss the hummingbirds at the fuschia and feeders outside the dining room window.

The welcome was excellent and there were no other guests on Sunday night. Calm atmosphere. Clean rooms, albeit somewhat close together which would make busy times possibly louder. The hosts were friendly and gave us our space. But let me get to the breakfast. Delicious. Seriously. The pastries are amazing too. Always fresh coffee and tea anytime of the day. Either way, no hesitations with our choice of the Blue Gull.

The house was built in 1868, but antique as the décor may be, it has all mod cons, and no ghosts. Port Townsend is full of old houses, so yes, it was important to find accommodations that weren’t haunted houses. The Blue Gull Inn is run by a very nice couple who gave us all the essential info on Port Townsend — like the best places to eat nearby — and cooked fabulous breakfasts that kept us full almost the whole day. We’re talking muffins, fruit cups, yogurt parfaits, and then a main course of dishes like Scotch Eggs(hardboiled egg surrounded in sausage), omelettes and waffles.(They can also accommodate special diets; I saw how they cooked separate dishes for other guests if needed.) And if that’s not enough, the owner usually bakes up more treats in the afternoon. Tea and hot chocolate is available all day. The inn has six guest rooms, one of them decorated with teddy bears and another with angels, but I liked ours, the Cypress Room because of it’s huge whirlpool tub. You’d best believe I took bubble baths every night. The bed was a tad creaky and there was a little noise through the wall from the adjoining room, but overall, it was pretty comfortable. There’s no TV, but there is wi-fi … and the husband gorged on Hulu on our laptop. For nice weather, there’s a fantastic front porch straight out of the American Dream, and a back garden where you might play with the resident pooch. The price is reasonable, and the location is perfect — a few scenic minutes down the hill to downtown Port Townsend and a block away from the main uptown street. Yet there’s still a very good chance of seeing deer and coyotes right in the front yard. You know, between the great food and the family pictures and the homey atmosphere, it’s kind of like staying at Grandma’s house!
