This place was awesome! Ended up here coincidentally on a whim and boy am I glad I did. The 2 for $ 25 menu is great; they have a stuffed pork chop that is a must try. The atmosphere is great and the bartender staff was very friendly. I guess they have other $ 5 specials on different nights. I will definitely be going back again. Nice find and yet another alternative to check out in Port St Lucie!

I don’t see how anybody can rate this less then a 4 Their food is great the service is great and they have a lot of good beers and drinks… Fort the area, in my personal opinion it’s really good it has a little bit of everything on the menu and they always have specials or they switch it up every so often, at one point they had a section of odd foods like frog legs and stuff but this place has a great chef so all the foods good. No complaints. Very clean, The only thing i would say is some nights they have live music so if you don’t like that or your not in the mood for it I would check before you go. Definitely better then the Duffys that used to be there and right around the corner from my house

Well the hottest place in town on Tuesday nights has to be Johnny V’s Town Tavern. Tuesday nights are $ 5 hamburger night where Johnny V’s packs in the local retiree set. Still gainfully employed we nonetheless set out to avoid the dreaded«what do you want for dinner» quandary. We were a bit before peak time and thus were seated immediately. A sign out front asked for patience with the efficient if harried staff on «our successful night». If putting out a quality burger at $ 5 makes V successful, then more power to him. We had a blue cheese/fried onion and a cheeseburger. Each came with steak fries, shoestrings, or cole slaw and a nice piece of fresh lettuce and slice of tomato. Sure, there was a bit of a wait but try cooking over a hundred bar burgers to order with custom toppings and see how that works for you. It worked out quite well for us particularly with draft Guiness and Stella while we waited. The burgers were delicious. I understand that Mr. V changed his menu to more tavern-like format since opening. We like the change and we will be back for more burgers and to try the other menu items as well. The friendly waitress told us that Wed. Nites are $ 25 dinner for two special including a glass of wine each. We hope Mr. V is successful here whatever his marketing plan. The Town Tavern is a keeper.

Time to update… We ate here tonight, it was okay. That is the best I can say. The food was so-so, service was so-so and the atmosphere is stark, empty, & slightly frigid. We will not return.

Visited the Town Tavern with my husband last night and had a wonderful dinner. Matt our server was a great help and suggested the Rigatoni Vodka. I added the shrimp for a small up-charge. it was very good and will order it again. My husband had the meatloaf and was not as pleased. Seems he likes mine better! looking forward to returning. Did I mentioned Wed is dinner for two for $ 25.00 including 2 glasses of decent house wine. Thanks Matt!

If I could give it no stars I would. I never got my food! I went in, at about 5:45 on 12÷30÷14 and was promptly seated. It was busy but there were empty tables. I gave my order to the waiter as soon as he came to my table as I knew what I wanted — their $ 5 special burger & fries. He brought me my ice tea and I waited and waited and waited and waited. Finally after waiting over a half an hour I asked to speak to the manager. When I told her I was waiting over a half an hour she told me, «It takes an hour.» Really? For a burger & fries? Did they have to go out and kill a cow” This is casual dinning not fine dinning; not gourmet dinning. I told her to give my check for my ice tea and I’m leaving. She said I didn’t have to pay for it. Went next door and grabbed a couple of slices of pizza. When I got home I had an e-mail with for a free burger at one of their competitors. If it had come earlier I would have had this wonderful experience. I have learned, in my 70 plus years, that a business needs me — I don’t need them! The night before I went to a busy restaurant that has Monday night specials — the place was packed. I had my three course dinner(app, soup, main) and was out in a little over an hour.

Sat at bar w/a very friendly bartender Jennifer. I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio Mezzacorina $ 7.95. Plus we ordered a antipasti w/! Prossoto and salami and shaved parmigiana, marinaded olives and some hot peppers. My friend & I both said they should have severed it w/some Italian bread or breadstick. My GF ordered two vodka drinks and it was HH from 3−7pm.

Food was delicious. Service was great. Had a band named soso’s playing which was nice to listen to. Had buffalo flat bread that was a tasty app. And caprese wrap that was amazing as was the fish and chips

Terrible experience! Food was not good and overpriced and for ambiance we were seated among a large group of drunken construction workers who were loud and obnoxious. They were also being overserved — drinking beer and double shots. We could not even hear what the person seated next to us was saying, making conversation impossible. I don’t expect this place to be in business very long. By the way, don’t order the mac and cheese, you will be disappointed! Our group of 8 all said they would never go back!

Sandy Kaye People of St Lucie West. This restaurant deserves our support. He came in with a menu that was a little out of place for the area but has changed it to meet our needs. He is an accomplished Chef and the food and service are excellent. Everybody talks about Duffy’s who just walked away from us and did not give a damm. He took over the restaurant and deserves our support

Seriously? A tavern with Duck, Lamb, Escargot? Was really looking forward to the former Duffy’s opening up and just killing it. Instead it killed us. The menu and their pricing belong in PGA Gardens, or an upscale community. Not in St Lucie West. Please rethink your menu as well as your pricing. A full parking lot is a happy parking lot. The weekly diners that used to dine at «D» and have been waiting for the«V» are now going west to «D».

Really… can’t imagine anyone giving this«tavern» more than one star with menu choices, preparations, and just plain missing the mark for ambience and price marks for Port St. Lucie. Johnny V may have graduated from the CIA in 1981, but methinks he has not updated his techniques or awareness of culinary trends for 30+ years. PSL is not a culinary mecca for diners but please try to explore more appropriate dishes for the golfing crowd who travels to PGA Village for winter golf. Tavern fare to me speaks of burgers, grilled entrees, shepherds’ pie, hearty salads and or soups, steak and mashed potatoes, pork chops, fish and chips(FL caught of course), macaroni and cheese(ok if you have to put in local lobster pieces — not Maine caught lobster meat), braised short ribs, awesome buffalo wings, imaginative nachos, chicken pot pie… and it goes on. So many choices and gads how awful a menu featuring Asian shrimp, Frenched rack of lamb(really!), calves liver, roast duck l’orange(huh?), and chef’s oyster Rockefeller. Johnny V’s menu features a special little taste of «Bizarre Food Bites:» pork belly, blood sausage, tripe, sweet breads, octopus, frog legs. No methinks not! All entrees are served with choice of soup or small totally unremarkable house salad, seasonal veggies and complimentary roll. Never saw veggies, roll and salad was totally nondescript! Fellow diner asked for oil and vinegar dressing and those two items were delivered with bland salad — ok, French background and when someone in my neck of the woods orders oil and vinegar — make it simply and tasty with awesome vinegar, great oil and salt and pepper. When menu was delivered, had to spend a little time finding something that speaks of tavern food and 3 of us ordered burgers. Must give food devil its due and burger meat was great but ¼ pounder was about 3 inches in diameter(albeit cooked perfectly) and served with cold fries. No condiments were served — Johnny V — come on — serve a signature steak sauce or buy Peter Luger’s and add to plate in small ramekin. Call it your own, who cares as long as it’s good. Prices are just okay for«bar» food and pretty high for entrees. For the record, if I were to order rack of lamb(which BTW we would assume is frenched), I would not order at this restaurant and pay $ 29.00 for rack served with fresh mint lamb reduction — yuk. Duck L’Orange is $ 24 and tavern burgers are $ 8.00 for«¼ pounder»(pre-cooked methinks and the size of sliders) and includes 2 toppings and fries as well as pickles. Never saw the pickles and would hope that they were brining in a lovely barrel somewhere. Wines are pretty reasonable by the bottle and actually a good deal compared to the per glass prices. Nice job there. Salads — well judging from house salad don’t know if I would venture there. Tavern Wedge Salad for $ 9.50 includes iceburg, bacon, tomatoes and gorgonzola with blue cheese. Can we stray from the obvious? Appetizers were limited and have to give kudos for Tuscan white beans(canned) & sweet Italian sausage was well prepared and nicely presented. Crab stuffed baked clams(not chopped and served whole with an extremely strong fishy stuffing) were inedible($ 12). Didn’t even venture into desserts — crème brûlée, cheesecake, bananas foster and some awful sounding late night snack — chocolate, bananas, peanut butter and pretzel sticks. Oh no. What happened to banana cream pie, awesome hot fudge sundae, apple pie a la mode, go wild with fruit filled crepes, or gads a moist chocolate cake with awesome icing? Johnny V — don’t try to reinvent the wheel — just serve great food at reasonable prices and make sure your staff knows how to properly open a bottle of wine. Ambience is ok but large oak barrels in the middle of the dining room just don’t make for a tavern feel. Bar looks cool but banquettes in dining room are comfortable but tables are way to small for four. Wait staff was obviously stressed with only 5 days of experience but little more training would have been nice and eased the pain of the poorly prepared food and menu offerings. Sorry, but would have liked to say — finally a good casual restaurant in PSL — but not going to find that here at Johnny V’s.

This place was previously Duffy’s. The atmosphere is great. The inside is beautiful and very clean. We were seated and waited for a bit before the waiter took our drink order. That was okay. Their beer menu is nothing to write home about but other reviews said it was a great beer selection. The double IPA that my man got was good! The menu is odd for that area. Octopus and escargot for an appetizer? Calves liver and duck for entrée? I am not sure who the chef is catering to but it seems too expensive and too foody for that area. I ordered the steak sandwich with shoestring fries and my boyfriend ordered the BLT with coleslaw and onion rings. When it came out the sides to each of our entrees were wrong. I had steak fries and three small onion rings and my boyfriend’s side was shoestring fries. We told the runner and even then she had to go back to the kitchen twice to get it right. Also, I’m not sure how long our food waited in the kitchen but my steak fries were cold when it arrived at the table. My company also ordered ranch dressing which was a little watery. Dessert was also ordered called the chef’s late night snack. It was odd — four pretzel rods, bananas(peeled) with peanut butter and a chocolate sauce that seemed to be heated in the microwave. It was weird. The bananas were slimy and hard to dip into the sauce. Not really finger food worthy if you ask me. Additionally, and this is big, but the waiter disappeared for a few minutes and then came back and REEKED of cigarette smoke. I understand that you’re on a break but damn… spray something. It was like he sat in a little room and chain smoked. I’m glad it was at the end of our meal otherwise I’m not sure I could’ve finished my meal. At 9:30pm the place was dead! No one was coming in but there were people going out. I hope it does well. But the menu needs an overhaul.
