Rochelle’s Fine Fabric & Quilting

I have never been to the shop — only purchased from Rochelle’s at quilt shows. I recently purchased a kit for a gift for my dad. As I was sewing along, I realized I didn’t have enough of one of the fabrics. Of course, this always happens when you’re up against a deadline. I called the shop and the girl said Rochelle would send it to me immediately. I figured it was on it’s way or waiting in the mailbox when I got a call from Rochelle, who told me I was the only person who had reported a shortage of fabric, so she was going to have to charge me for it (I needed 4″). She said she had a lot on her plate, so that’s why she was calling me days later. AND she charged me $ 1.69 on my credit card for the fabric including shipping. Yep – $ 1.69. AND there was no mistake on my part — I did not have enough fabric. In fact, some of the other pieces were cut EXACTLY the total width needed, not even a half inch extra for squaring up. If the person cutting the fabric didn’t cut it exactly right, the strips will not come out straight and sure enough, that’s what happened. Obviously, saving every little penny is more important than good customer service. I’ll be passing by her booth (and continuing to share my experience) at upcoming quilt shows.
