Stopped here on the way to Canada. Interesting décor inside, did not like the 2 dirty tables outside that people were smoking at. They were very close to the front door and no way to avoid it. Typical greasy spoon diner menu. We ordered the eggs, bacon, potatoes etc. There was only 2 other tables occupied and it took about 45 minutes to get our food. The cook seemed to be doing everything around the restaurant and the waitress was just kind of hanging around. The food was okay but everything else going on in this place was a total turn off. I will not be returning. The prices were pretty cheap.

I just had Fish & Chips delivered to my home. The wait time was less than 45min. The food was still hot the pop still had ice! I special ordered the Fish and it was done perfect! Tasted very good! I will definitely order from them again!!!

The cooks do great work with what they’ve got, the wait staff is friendly. You rarely have a long wait for your food and it won’t break your wallet. Worth checking out. I’d rank this 3.5 stars if I could because they’re on such a short list of places that stay open late in town.

The Colonial Restaurant is the typical dive type diner. When you enter, the door has built up grime on it from other people’s hands touching it. It is obviously never cleaned. The last time I was there, the front door was propped open to let fresh air in. It did, along with flies. The interior décor is filled in old records on the wall, along with 1950s car type things. Their food is marginal at the best. The patty melt sandwich was so bland and tasteless. The burger was not seasoned in any way. The French Fries weren’t grade A cut, but smaller pieces, such as grade B fries. The plastic squeeze ketchup bottles, and with the salt and pepper shakers have a greasy feel to them. Also, never cleaned on a regular basis. They have raised their prices in the last couple of years to a point where it makes sense to go elsewhere. Most of the employees that work there are somehow related to the owner, and this doesn’t allow for selecting the best staff. I tend to avoid this place for the following reasons. Poor food quality, dirty environment, and prices out of line for a diner. These people need to call Robert Irvine from the TV show, Restaurant Impossible. I think he might be able to help guide them into how to make their food more appealing, and a new restaurant style and gain a better customer base.

An institution. Their club sandwich is one of the best in town. The atmosphere is a little seedy but at 3am it doesn’t matter. The place surprised me, they have some good line cooks.

I can sum this place up in one word… awful, i recently went here for a morning breakfast and could not believe how terrible i was treated, the waitress was Michelle if i am correct and she could care less as to weather my food got to us our not, as she chatted it up with what seemed to be friends, for a good portion of the hour a unfortunately stayed. The cook that was working was very UN kept and looked like a homeless young man they found on the street. As i passed by the kitchen to my amazement i cought the cook dropping some sausages on the floor picking them up and immediately putting them on the plate i just about puked… i quickly asked for my check reluctantly paid leaving over half of my obviously microwaved biscuits and my wives untouched freanch toast… needless to say… DONOTEATHERE… Unless you are prepared for one horribley unforgettable experience

I usually don’t trust a biscuits and gravy breakfast that’s made outside of the South– us Southerners have pretty high expectations– but Colonial Restaurant did a very respectable job. Service is quick and friendly. Prices were very reasonable and matched food quality.

The quirky charms that this local restaurant offers did not over-weigh the poor quality of my breakfast today. I ordered the veg. omlette, cottage cheese and a side of bacon. When digging in for the 1st bite of my omlette I thought a saw a very thin hair in it, but I shrugged it off and continued eating. My cottage cheese had animal hair on the saucer that the bowl rested on. Then my side of bacon had another animal hair stuck to it. I know the colonial is not a 5 star joint but, come on! The staff needs to to a better job of keeping their clothes hair-free or keep the cat/dog off the kitchen counters.

Well it’s time to take a minute and talk about this spot. My hubby and I are big fans of breakfast here, as a matter of fact I think of this as «our» spot. There’s something special about the bummmmmpy slightly uncomfortable booths. There’s something special about having«our» waitress(there is only one working at a time) always there to keep our coffee topped off. And something special about knowing that she knows what I’m gonna order because… I’m a regular. There’s something special when you see all the other early morning folks in here that think it’s their spot too.

Greasy spoon. Open late on weekends. Cheap and plentiful breakfasts. Booths are beat-up and so are some of the patrons, but when you’re bleary or weary you fit right in. Cheap eats in general. Coney Dogs are pretty good and I think they have a 99 cent coney day. Chicken Pita wraps are good, one of them is heavily breaded though so beware. Onion rings are standard. Sampler platter will get two people greased to go. It is what it is and its good at it.
