Finally ate here and what a disappointment. No fresh brewed iced tea, for starters, and the wait was extensive for the amount of staff working and the number of people in house. Food quality was marginal. Food quantity vs. price is bad. I had maybe 3oz of patrami on my sandwich and maybe a dozen steak fries total(the substitution also cost extra). I could not tell how good the flavor of the pastrami was because my sandwich was bathed in mustard. The last few bites were mustard and pickles. It’s no wonder customers pay in advance so a tip is blindly solicited. For a better sandwich at a better price go to the Roxbury Deli down the street.

I was not expecting to find a descent place to eat in this side of town, but I will admit I was completely wrong. We saw this place and just went in to try it, we did not Unilocal it either. I’ve had great sandwiches but his is certainly the best spot in the area. Please try the parra I, damn orgasmic! This is a place I will highly recommend to the public. Best courtesy and a wonderful family ambiance.

Just got home and through in a frozen pizza, I left there feeling so hungry. My French dip sandwich came with about 2 oz of meat, it was all bread. The au ju sauce was a clear/yellow oil which has left me with the worst aftertaste. Really is such a shame I have had french dips there a couple years ago and they where great. I am mad at myself for not returning the sandwich when I got it. I walked in and the workers where polite, after I got my sandwich never saw anybody again. I was planning on telling them how disappointed I was and that there was just no meat. Unfortunately nobody ever came bye to check how the food was, so I left. I really cant believe I spent $ 20.00 on that sandwich and a beer. I will never Return. Just had to add these notes after looking at website, thought about calling manager or owner. After reading other reviews, I realized thats not gonna get me anywhere. Now after looking at the Boars Breath website to see if that was the right Au Ju Sauce, I recognize the owner as the gentleman sitting at the table right in front of me. kinda felt like he was family or involved some how, half the staff spent a lot of time at that table. I know that he watched me look into my sandwich with disappointment. Shame on you for not engaging the situation or sending one of your employees over to see if there was anything that could have been done to help. You have no business owning a restaurant, or being in any kind of customer service. I will not only not return again, I will bad talk your place to everybody around town. I sure hope the coast guard, police and navy can keep you in business, you must be giving them a hell of a discount. Your Business will start to reflect your horrible food and your I don’t care service

On Sunday January 30, 2016, I ate at the boars breath deli with a fairly large party. We were able to be seated easily and the menu was easy to read. We ate a variety of foods. The Kobe burger, Salads, gyros and many other good foods. It is going to be difficult to decide on which of these amazing foods I’m going to try on my next visit. The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere. You can watch a sporting event but it is also not so loud that you have to yell to have a conversation. MARKLUSK

Great place for great food. You can tell the owners put a lot of effort into the food. They use really good quality of meats and cheeses and the food tastes very fresh. I will defiantly be back!!!

As customers we are entitled to our own opinions and reviews. I would have expected better from the owner and his response. Instead of attending to the situation at hand he goes on a rant and does nothing to help the customer. One can always tell what type of person the owner is because of how prooly his attempt to resolve an issue. The way he has approched the situation wasn’t very professional and considers himself a «veteran» What type of military veteran owns a business and sweeps an issue under the rug or tries to leave the customer feel uneasy? I’m the one that should be dissipointed since I am the customer. Let’s get one thing straight Mr. Pigs Head, your customers make you not the other way around! We are the reason why you make any type of money! Without us(customers) you wouldn’t have a business to begin with! The owner states he was present at the time of the event and remembers everything as if it just happened yesterday. If the owner can recall the incident, what were we wearing? What did we look like? How many of us were there? What was the day and time of the event? Lastly, why didn’t he approach us when we just walked out? I’m sure he couldn’t answer the last question because he doesn’t remember. Bravo for your attempt and kind words! I guess that’s why your ratings are getting worse and declining just like your professionalism. Good day to you and Happy New Year!

Trying to get better about reviewing places I’ve been to. I decided this one was worth writing about. I am in no way shape or form a foodie. I am a fairly simple, some might say picky, eater. I’m just plain. Anyway, 2 of my girlfriends and I wanted to meet up for dinner and a beer. I had never been before, but they both had and said it was good so we decided to chow down here. When you walk in, it’s a little confusing. There is a huge chalkboard sign that says«Order here» in the middle of the restaurant. To me, it looks like a place you are waited on, so I wasn’t sure if I sit first or order first. Nobody there wears a uniform or shirt that says they work there so I didn’t know who to ask about if I seat myself or wait to be seated. After a few seconds, I saw someone carrying food and asked her if I needed to wait or if I could seat myself. Pretty simple question, yet I was given an eye roll and an attitude with a sigh. I didn’t get an answer right away so I explained I was meeting people and wanted to wait to order. She said, with a other eye roll, «sit wherever». So I did just that. The place isn’t super huge so I just grabbed the first, non 2 person table. One we were all there, we all went up to order. Apparently, the ownership and management had recently changed and it’s not the way my girlfriends had remembered. They used to place the order and then were able to pay after eating, just like a normal sit down restaurant. There are no menus out to look over but there is one with fairly smedium(small/medium) writing up on the wall. I’m only 29, but I had difficulty seeing it from the register. I asked if they had a bacon burger and the same eye rolling helper said«did you look at the menu?». Let me tell you, I am the queen of eye rolls. I can roll my eyes with the best of them. Now I started to catch an attitude back. I told her I did not see a menu because she didn’t give me one and there aren’t any out. She grabbed one from behind the counter and handed it to us. So, we order our food together. For whatever reason, that was difficult in and of itself, but then it comes time to pay. Again, we thought we could pay AFTER we got our food. We even asked and the woman at the counter said we could. But then she wanted us to pay when we were done ordering. We wanted to split it 3 ways. Had we had known we had to pay at the counter, we would have ordered separately. She had a hard time splitting our orders. I ordered the house burger with bacon, provolone, no tomato, no onion(told you I was simple) and fries. I also ordered a pitcher of beer. We pay and then we go sit down. A guy in sweats comes and gives us our beer glasses and says he will be right back with our pitcher. Be right back to me means 3 minutes tops. He came back in about 10 minutes. Our glasses were warm. Oh well, the beer was cold, we were chatting, we kept it moving. It took a while to get our food. I was excited when it got to our table! But I could smell onions!!! Not only was my burger missing bacon, it had onions and tomatoes. :(I picked it off, but I could still taste the onion flavor. I didn’t want to have to wait another 45 minutes so I just dealt with it. The fries were okay. Steak fries are hard to mess up. They were salted just fine. Some were crispy, some were soft. They were fries. The burger, which I ordered medium well, was cooked well done. The patty did not have much flavor and was really greasy. I ate half and decided I was over it. I was now sad!!! My burger just didn’t taste how it looked. The guy in sweats came and checked on us a few times, so that was nice. All in all, this place wasn’t all the rage I had heard it to be. I might go back just to give it another shot. Maybe the woman at the counter was having a bad day. Maybe the cook who made my burger was new. Who knows. But if I have the same experience again, I may have to reconsider coming back.

No matter what time we come and no matter what menu items we order, this place is always amazing. The food portions are excellent, and the taste of everything is beyond satisfying. Yum yum yum. If you come here, expect to leave with a happy stomach.

It sucks, when my friends rave about this place & it DIDNOT hit any of the expectations tonight. It all started w/the customer service & went down hill from there. I came up to the register & cashier/server didn’t acknowledge me. I’m pretty sure she was purposely ignoring me because there’s no way you can not see the person infront of you. ANYWAYS, she finally«saw» me & asked«oh are you placing an order» w/such sarcasm. Obviously, I’m going to place an order. Do you expect me to just stand infront of you for fun? It’s Common sense. Acknowledge your customers, please! She took our order, we sat down, waited. Once our food was done, I saw everything in a to-go bag. We said, for here. Whatever that’s fine. BUT, when she called my name, my friend came up to get the food… she was confused. & said but you’re not glare. Well, OBVIOUSLY!!! She saw us both together as we placed our order… & than she turns towards me. Repeats the order & hands it to me. Her common sense. Is out the door. Food: I order the gyro plate w/garlic chips & macaroni salad. My friend had the Steve Kobe. Gyro plate: I couldn’t finish it, it was not good. I’m sorry. Steve Kobe w/a side of steak fries. burger was delicious but the fries. Super small portions. I’m not even exaggerating. I wish I took a picture of it. Honestly, I tipped her 20% regardless of her being oblivious from the beginning. but, if I could take it back I would. she didn’t deserve it. AND, I always tip! ** I don’t normally bash restaurants, but it really sucked tonight food & service! *** BUT, I’m going to try this place again, regardless. I was told LUNCH time is way better!

The most risky thing you can do as a small Restaurant owner is reduce your portions. :(The Cobb salad here used to be BIG portions, and this time I could literally feel the difference in weight of the salad when I picked it up. There was no bacon or eggs in it! C’mon guys, if you got yourself a new prep person, you better have a talk with them. very disappointed guys! *****UPDATE***** Thank you guys for wanting to address my concerns. I’m glad you’ve kept to your recipe and that it was just an oversight on the new cook. :) I’ve always enjoyed the food here and I would hate to have to find a new place that makes a killer Cobb Salad :) thanks again!

Where do you get the best burger in Ventura County? HERE! That’s where! Hands down, by far the best burgers around. From one of a kind kobe beef burgers, to gyros and salads that have more flavor than should be legal, not to mention beautiful girls and beers on tap. They have their standard everyday menu, and they have custom made specials on the board that blow the mind! I just tried their newest creation, the«Kiss» Burger, this thing was amazing bacon, avocado, and melted Hershey Chocolate Kisses in the burger. My friend and I couldn’t belive that something like this would taste as good as it did. And with every bite were amazed and needless to say didn’t leave a bite on the plate. If you haven’t been in here, stop in a be prepared to make this spot a regular stop on your weekly routine

We were searching for American food, we got it! Very friendly service, the new owner patiently helped us to find out from the menu the best burger for everyone, describing them in detail, with enthusiasm and passion. I also found here a good local beer and the original coca cola. Kobe burger was so excellent that we came a second time back to taste it again!

Well, I keep getting my hopes up for a decent deli in the VC and so far, again, another fail. Again, sandwiches were just meh. They do use good quality meats however it takes more than just good meats to make a decent sandwich. Their sides also disappointed, their homemade chips were chewy and their steak fries were truly tasteless. One batch came out waaay too salty and the other completely missed the salt. It seems like a nice place but there is just one guy in the kitchen, no QA, just rush rush. Unfortunately the food is the one who suffers in an environment like this. If you are looking for a good sandwich, keep looking, you will be disappointed here.

Authentic Deli food and burgers paired with a good atmosphere. I’d advise anyone to drive past Roxbury and skip Carl’s Jr to try Boar’s Breath. You won’t regret it. I was invited by the owner Jeff to come check out Boar’s Breath after several bad experiences at Roxbury Deli. I’ve found my new Deli hang out. When I walked in I was a bit confused. Is someone going to greet us? are we expected to find our own seat and menus? I walked up to the counter where I met a less than enthusiastic cashier who asked me if I want a menu. I took one and sat down. I think next time a «Welcome to Boar’s Breath please feel free to seat yourself.» would be better suited. But I know better now. You just gotta walk in and walk up to the counter and order. I think the casual sit down feel of the place gave me the impression we’d be greeted and seated. Now I know for next time. Not really a mark against the Deli. Just a bit of confusion upon walking in. Same thing happened when I wanted to order. I didn’t know if I’m just supposed to wait for someone or if I go to the counter(you go to the counter). Things got better after I ordered. There were different baseball games along on the TVs which I love as a baseball fan. I ordered the jalapeño poppers for an appetizer. They were meh. Just very basic. Cream cheese, jalapeño, and fairly bland breading. I didn’t finish them and probably won’t order them again. They’d fair much better with some pepper and maybe some melted cheese on the inside to go with the cream cheese. But who knows maybe they make them frozen. It was hard to tell. Not worth $ 5.99 tho. I ordered the double Bleu burger with bacon and my fiancée ordered the bbq chicken bacon melt. We received our food in good time and I was blown away St the size of this burger. It looked amazing but ENORMOUS. And the in house garlic chips were a nice touch. The burger tasted perfect and that’s what matters and the bacon was super thick. I’ve always said a burger is only as good as its bun and this Un was fantastic. Hard to tell but they may make them in house. Anyway, over the course of 20 minutes I muscled down every last bite of the burger and was so full I felt like rolling home. 5 star burger. My fiancée really liked her chicken sandwich and the generous portion. She couldn’t finish hers either. She said the chicken tasted great and the bacon was thick and crispy. I’ll be returning to BB and I’ll be bringing friends with me. Thank you Jeff for asking me to come check our your establishment because I may not have ever checked it out otherwise. Great food. 5 stars. Carry on.

Really yummy sandwiches. Kind of a hole in the wall in a strip mall but worth finding. If you get tired of Subway, these guys have a build-your-own option and it’s so much better! Choose your bread, meat, cheese, veggies and condiments. It’s all good quality and piled high. It also came with crispy fries.
